im an electrician and often find myself in apartments and tights spaces and having a small drill and driver that is powerful enough that i dont have to be in tight spaces long is great. very quality product
I introduced myself to Milwaukee through the M12 line of tools. They have more than met my expectations from a performance perspective. I already had a substantial collection of 18V tools in my Makita arsenal so I didn’t elect to rebuy in Milwaukee brand. My Makita tools have always been nothing but solid performers.
I was gonna go full on Bosch collection after trying the 12V impact, very awesome, love it. I chose to buy a 3 pack of M12 5.0s due to the overall quality and selection!🎉 Gonna get this impact as well! And the Osc. tool, don't have a cordless one. Circ saw for fast cutting. Then maybe the vacuum for cleaning up all that mess! I like to stay clean! 🪥 That should take care of the first 4!😂🎉 Good review by the way!! 👍👍👍🎉
The M12 stuff is excellent. I have the Gen 2 M12 Fuel kit and even that stuff rips. I also picked up the DeWalt 12V Xtreme kit and it's excellent as well, and Lowe's has the 4-piece kit for $199 right now, and they throw in a free $179 Xtreme Brushless 3/8 Ratchet or 400 ft lb mini 1/2-inch impact wrench with it. One of the very best tool deals on the internet right now.
That sounds like an amazing deal! I think that with todays technology you can't go wrong with any of the big brands. I personally don't like having multiple different platforms due to battery cost, so I'm pretty stuck on Milwaukee. There was a time when all I ran was the OG, dark green, Ryobi drills back in 2007 when I worked construction. I might have to find one to do a comparison lol.
, bro, what is the difference between the model 3453-20 and 3453-22, I am looking to buy an impact screwdriver online, these M12 look powerful, I work with hardwood carpentry, making beds, stairs, solid doors, I have one brand Truper, it is not very good and it is also heavy, sometimes I work on Drywall and all day putting in screws I get tired and my arm goes numb.... could you give me that clarification, I want to make a good online purchase, yes those M12 are strong for continuous work... and up to what size screw they are able to fit.
I use it all the time as a weekend mechanic, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 inch, right angle attachment for "ratcheting" . If I need extra torque I just use a breaker bar and finish it off with the driver. My go too tool.
I got their combo kit plus their new 2.5 High Output battery for 176$ I have yet to really test out them yet, but it seems to be better than my old Makita XTD13 and I like the light weight of the tool too! I use mine for building decks, metal roofs, installing plywood flooring, etc, etc.. I can’t wait to go the full 9 miles with it, I misused my old gen 2 impact and I lost the ball detent and couldn’t find a replacement so I had to hop on this deal because 176$ for 3 batteries, drill (without that electronic chuck of the old gen 2 drill) and impact
That is a really good deal I bought mine for 200 previous to that deal I also bought a 2.5 high output off eBay for $35 and run that all the time and I love it
I moved from Germany to the US and need some new tools for home improvement. The 12V Impact + Driver Combo seems like an awesome deal with plenty of power for me. Thank you for this nice test.
I'm watching in February 2023. Bought the drill and the impact in February for $229 at HD. Milwaukee threw in the new high output 5.0 battery. Charger and bag included with a 2.0 and 4.0 batteries. 2 tools and 3 batteries. Newest models.
@@SlowDelSol Thank you for your good comment. I'm a homeowner and have some projects that I need to drive some screws. I have other 12v tools. The tool rep side the 5.0 battery was worth about $100. It's something to consider.

For the homeowner, the 5.0 is a nice to have, but not needed. I used the same 2, 18v 3.0 for years in my business. Should be able to charge in time before you need to swap batteries.
I have an old Makita 18v impact driver that works great still. What I don’t like about it is that it will spin up fast which makes it tough to light work with doors and such. I picked one of these up last week and it is great. I will say I am not a fan of how hard it is to remove Milwaukee batteries from their tools or chargers as compared to Makita.
I just picked this exact one up today for 79 bucks, same case, battery and charger. HD was clearing out the ones they had in stock from their Xmas sales I believe
Great video. I have 2 impact drivers. Ryobi (brushed) and M12 fuel. I bought the M12 impact and hammer drill combo with free 6ah battery. I love the M12 impact. It's light and powerful. My Ryobi doesn't even feel right anymore. But I'm vested in a lot of Ryobi 18v tools.
It's all about the battery investment lol. I also bought the same M12 combo kit, but mine came with the 2.5ah high output. Can't wait to test the difference. I bought this to get rid of my bosch 12v, but honestly like the bosch impact too much for final assembly.
Yes, the Milwaukee impact driver is more powerful than the Bosch, but heavier! I have both, and unless I'm driving big screws, I reach for the Bosch every time!
Just got this kit ( I needed it for a tight area I couldn't fit the M18 in) it has instnalty become my punch list go to and shop horse. The M18 can stay in the trailer for the big jobs.
@@mfcbuilds Totally agree. The Bosch's are good tools, but the Milwaukee's rugged, powerful feel, at least to me, is the best I've ever come across. Congratulations America!
Got mine for $179 at Home Depot and i got a free m12 multi tool with it. So I got the m12 fuel impact, 2 batteries, charger and the multi tool for $179.

A good deal now for what you get. I like to run it with the 2.0’s for size. Just hate the pregnant grip and switch placement. Still love my Bosch brushless 12 volt for handling, and finesse jobs though.
I just noticed they straighten or backed off on the rake angle this year along with the light placement change. Nice, you can definitely feel it. Will made it more comfortable for repetitive task’s. 😄
I bought the Gen 3 kit. Sold the batteries and charger that it came with because I don't need any more. Sold my Gen 2 drill & impact and came out 20 bucks ahead and got the upgrade haha
That's awesome! I considered purchasing the $200 kit with drill & impact, but I strongly prefer impacts for almost everything I do and didn't really need another drill, so this was a good deal for me.
I did the same exept my drill and driver was the brushless non fuel. How much dif you sell the batteries for? I rather put that money towards their new ho batteries
After using it in the shop for a week I will say this... The Bosch is still the most comfortable 12V Impact I have used, completely a preference thing for my hands. My new M12 will pretty much be replacing my M18. This is a huge win for size, weight, and comfort. I will still continue using the Bosch for final assembly and more delicate task due to its lower rpm.
@@mfcbuilds Agreed, I got the m12 and like the grip better too on the bosch. I don't like the tilted grip on the milaukee as much, wish they would have made it stragiht like Bosch 12v and traditonal 18v impacts
I'm sorry to hear that. I do believe Milwaukee has a different M12 Impact geared towards mechanics called the "stubby". I have no clue what the difference is in torque, speed, etc... I just know they come with a wrench head instead of a 1/4" collet
I went to Home Depot today to buy the 12volt drill and impact driver. Sale price shows $99.00, marked down from $169.00 Even after showing 3 managers their tag on the case with the same SKU, they would not honor the price for the 2 tool, 2 battery kit. I spend $50k a year with them. I may never go back
Just started as a carpenter apprentice and I’m on the dewalt platform but might bite the bullet and switch to Milwaukee, I think it might be a better investment long term, Walt impact was toast after 2 months.
I have not personally used dewalt in about 10 years, but I always recommend to new buyers to look at the brands platform as a whole. Base your decision of all the tools that brand has to offer and stick with that battery. And just know with milwaukee, you will probably end up with 12V and 18V tools.
@@RetroReflux That's good to hear. I ended up buying 2, and when you consider I still use my 12v bosch as well, I can't say mine have been torture tested enough.
Yeah I do plumbing electrical and hvac don’t waste your money on the m18 impact the m12 is amazing. The only thing I found the m18 does better is self drilling screws. Definitely the opposite on the drills. By the m18 drill
There is a sweet deal on that combo as well right now. Right or wrong, I have recently found myself using impacts for almost everything. Thank you for watching.
@@mfcbuilds I just happened to be shopping for an m12 impact and came across the $99 listing, I bought it so quick. It’s $99 but it’s showing it as a normal price and it’s not in store. Check out your link!
Not true, all the high output batteries use cells with at least 25 amps discharge rating instead of the 15 to 20 amp cells on not high output branded batteries. The cells on high output batteries can provide more current with less of voltage sag under load. Non-Fuel branded tools can take advantage of these inherent characteristics of the battery packs.
Agreed, I was putting together cabinets with drawer slides yesterday and switched back to my Bosch 12v because of that. But as I'm typing I just remember the M12 has multiple modes. So that will be tried in the future.
Considering the sheets of plywood I just purchased were $80 each, this was an easy decision. But, it's also about workflow. Another impact saves me from switching bits back and forth and this saves a ton of time over the course of the day/week.
@@mfcbuilds my youtubes got me watching other videos on this impact lol theres a cool video of a guy modding his to a 1/4" driver its by Lucid Autowerks if u wanna see it
What battery do you normally run? Just did a test I will be posting a video on shortly comparing the CP 2.0 vs CP 2.5 High Output vs XC 4.0 and was pretty shocked by the results.
Well I've been going back and forth all week on what to get, M12 or M18. Guess you answered that question in the first 10 seconds lol. I just don't want to be in a situation where I need more power and have to go buy another drill. Just the price tag on the M18 combo is more then I wanted to spend.
Can I ask what you are primarily using it for? Do you own any other M18 or M12 tools? Regarding power... think of it this way, I've owned the M18 in this video for a few years now and have never been underpowered, this M12 is just as powerful. BUT, I'm not driving 4" lag bolts all day either.
Awesome drill for a sweet deal! Just some overheating problems over time when testing it on my end. I think I asked too much of a 12v in my testing though.😆 Awesome video!🛠️👍🏼
While I have only owned it for a few days, I fortunately have not experienced this yet. Time will tell. It wouldn't be the first drill I have burned up though lol. Thank you for watching.
I've tested with 2.5Ah High Output. Judging by the M18 fuels I use, there isn't that much difference between the 3.0 HO and the 6.0 HO. Which is impressive.
GXL12V-220B22 However, I am sad to say the impact finally died after about 3 years of continuous use. It will be missed, but not replaced by another Bosch.
So I’ve had the first gen m12 fuel impact that I absolutely love (and still rips). when i got this new gen 3 m12 I really like it for its size and weight but is it just me or does it eat through batteries quick?? Could be the triple light but I’ve been finding myself having to charge batteries much more regularly.
Any ridiculous chance you're in Tampa Florida? I'd let you try mine and make sure it's not just your drill lol. I really don't know. I haven't had a job where I've run mine hard at all. Without being able to compare it to another one I just don't have an answer.
Question. Would you guys rather have the gen 3 M12 impact driver or the M18 gen 2 impact driver? I only have 18v Makita tools now and m12 3/8 stubby impact wrench and ratchet.
Gen 4 M18 lol. In all seriousness if I had no tools I recommend buying 18v first before 12v. In this particular comparison for size and weight I will be using the m12 over the older m18. Only sacrifice is battery life.
I do not. Everything I do now is in my shop. My drills stay in a drawer. If I go somewhere to do work (usually my parents lol) I just drop the m12 into my toolbelt since it's small enough.
Got the same deal as you. 2.5ah battery drill and driver for $200. Played with them in the parking lot.first thing I noticed was the exhaust pushing air onto my hand during use. Silly complaint but it did surprise me. Any luck testing the 2.5 yet? I'm debating returning it for $55 since I have 6 other m12 batteries
These are too small. My brother give me m12 gen 3 for a birthday gift. We try wood screw 200mm x 8 mm, no problem. We can build a house with it easily.
Drill- Packedge in typical box, came with a tool bag (added bonus), two batteries, one charger, drill, and driver. Two words "plenty of Torque" ruclips.net/user/postUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.
Not sure what exactly your asking. Drywall business = drywall screw gun. But for say handy work, sure. It would be perfect. Lightweight and plenty of power.
This is back on sale at Home Depot, but I would recommend going with the impact/drill combo and returning the HO battery. Should be a final cost around $130 for the combo.

Great video, you’ve sold me. I have the same Bosch brushless 12v and its underpowered.
@@mfcbuilds which model of bosch we talking about here? I’d like to check it out.
@@Fitjaycjr Bosch 12v impact Brushless
I really need it badly but just can’t afford it with wife health problems
But it would speed up small engine rebuild jobs
I'm sorry to hear that. I do believe Milwaukee has a different M12 Impact geared towards mechanics called the "stubby". I have no clue what the difference is in torque, speed, etc... I just know they come with a wrench head instead of a 1/4" collet
I went to Home Depot today to buy the 12volt drill and impact driver. Sale price shows $99.00, marked down from $169.00
Even after showing 3 managers their tag on the case with the same SKU, they would not honor the price for the 2 tool, 2 battery kit.
I spend $50k a year with them.
I may never go back
I hate when companies do this. Sad part is a different store with give you a completely different experience
The High output batteries only have an advantage when used with FUEL tools.
Correct, unknown to me at the time. Did a follow up video and addressed this.
As a commercial electrician it’s my FAVORITE TOOL!
Absolutely who this was intended for. Any long term issues?
@@mfcbuilds I’ve had zero issues with it, cable tray it’s been a godsend as well as using with strut building
@@RetroReflux That's good to hear. I ended up buying 2, and when you consider I still use my 12v bosch as well, I can't say mine have been torture tested enough.
@@mfcbuilds milawaukee just has nicer designs imo, using that smaller battery to use in a heated jacket they sale is money in the winter months 👌
I just got the M12 hammer drill and impact driver kit that came with a m12 rachet for $199
That's pretty slick deal. The rachet is on my radar.
Great video bro
Thank you
milwaukee gen3. I try to insert makita IMPACT DRIVER BITS PH2 can't be locked
but gen2 can locked. it is damaged or not?
I have no idea. I personally would try any other makita bits you have to assess.
Just sold my brushless set of m18 impact hammer drill and driver to purchase this m12 kit. Hope I won't regret it.
I can say after my first 1.5 weeks with it I have barely touched my M18. Just posted a storage cabinet build today and used 12v for 99% of it.
Yeah I do plumbing electrical and hvac don’t waste your money on the m18 impact the m12 is amazing. The only thing I found the m18 does better is self drilling screws. Definitely the opposite on the drills. By the m18 drill
That's good to know. Thanks for watching.
I have the m12 gen 3 fuel drill and impact driver combo kit.
There is a sweet deal on that combo as well right now. Right or wrong, I have recently found myself using impacts for almost everything. Thank you for watching.
Let's switch hands. Does the same test lol I'm definitely picking this up
Lol I don't think it's on sale right now, but definitely recommend. I own 2 now.
@@mfcbuilds I just happened to be shopping for an m12 impact and came across the $99 listing, I bought it so quick. It’s $99 but it’s showing it as a normal price and it’s not in store. Check out your link!
hey just a heads up, high output batteries only work on FUEL tools due to the architecture of the electronics
awesome video though!
I was wondering about that. Makes sense. Thanks!
Not true, all the high output batteries use cells with at least 25 amps discharge rating instead of the 15 to 20 amp cells on not high output branded batteries.
The cells on high output batteries can provide more current with less of voltage sag under load. Non-Fuel branded tools can take advantage of these inherent characteristics of the battery packs.
wrong...
@@nodoubt46able wrong...
3453-20 collaboration with red lithium xc 4.0 Ah is a really powerfull impact driver for me... 👌🏼😁
Try it with the High Output battery. It's not a game changer, but noticeable.
I have the m12 impact and hammer drill. The m12 is really aggressive.
Agreed, I was putting together cabinets with drawer slides yesterday and switched back to my Bosch 12v because of that. But as I'm typing I just remember the M12 has multiple modes. So that will be tried in the future.
@@mfcbuilds I use the regular M12 Drill driver with Clutch settings for any delicate work. The impact is too powerful lol
I used to do this as well. Then I got completed dialed in with the Bosch impact trigger control. That impact might just be my final assembly driver.
I’ve got no reason to buy yet another inpact, but I want this..
Considering the sheets of plywood I just purchased were $80 each, this was an easy decision. But, it's also about workflow. Another impact saves me from switching bits back and forth and this saves a ton of time over the course of the day/week.
@@mfcbuilds my youtubes got me watching other videos on this impact lol theres a cool video of a guy modding his to a 1/4" driver its by Lucid Autowerks if u wanna see it
It's a sign you should buy it 🤣
You don't need a reason to buy cool tools
Great content 🤌🏻
Glad you enjoyed
This might be reason I got it. It’s sitting on my cart and I’m about to get it 😂
Lol is it on sale again?
Speed is similar strength is not.
I have a gen 3 m12 and I freaking love it! Always using it on my ATVs and stuff like that.
What battery do you normally run? Just did a test I will be posting a video on shortly comparing the CP 2.0 vs CP 2.5 High Output vs XC 4.0 and was pretty shocked by the results.
Would love to see a comparison between the gen 2 and gen 3
Unfortunately I do not own the gen 2 and realistically won't be getting one for testing. However, I would recommend @TorqueTestChannel
Try new M12 xc 5.0 high output
should see more power
I've tested with 2.5Ah High Output. Judging by the M18 fuels I use, there isn't that much difference between the 3.0 HO and the 6.0 HO. Which is impressive.
@@mfcbuildsthere is no 3 and 6 HO
they are just regular 15A discharge rate per cell
Do you think it’s appropriate to work inside a truck dashboard? Is there lower power settings?
While it does have 3 power settings... I love my Bosch 12v for anything delicate. It has WAY better trigger control and lower rpm.
@@mfcbuilds ok thanks for your opinion. I’ll stick with my dewalt for now and just get it a new chuck🤘
$100!! Need to move I think, paying $269 in Australia without battery or charger!

Which this the bosch 12v-35 version oder older 12v-15?
GXL12V-220B22
However, I am sad to say the impact finally died after about 3 years of continuous use. It will be missed, but not replaced by another Bosch.
I have the second gen m12 fuel. I use that fucker for renovations and mechanic work.
XC batteries are a game changer if you haven't used yet.
The Walmart hyper tough 12v impact is better than the Bosch, in terms of power.
I have no doubt it is...
What batteries and what type of work?
@@mfcbuilds religiously stay on a 4.0 xc and I do hvac, I have both set at level 2 but idk man just my thoughts one month into the gen 3
Any ridiculous chance you're in Tampa Florida? I'd let you try mine and make sure it's not just your drill lol. I really don't know. I haven't had a job where I've run mine hard at all. Without being able to compare it to another one I just don't have an answer.
I love this drill. mostly because I have the hand size of a 12 year old girl.
Lol that's interesting. Most people hate the fat grip of the M12
Can you put a wire wheel in it
I don't know, but feel like there is a specific tool for that...
Anyone know if Milwaukee will release a Gen. 3 M12 Surge impact driver?
One day I hope to be in the know so I can give you this type of information lol.

What bag do you sue to store your M12 drill driver kit?
I do not. Everything I do now is in my shop. My drills stay in a drawer. If I go somewhere to do work (usually my parents lol) I just drop the m12 into my toolbelt since it's small enough.
do a fuel m18 vs fuel m12
That would require us to buy the newest M18 Fuel... 🤔 I like where your heads at.
I have not "tested" it yet. Don't know much a difference just using it day to day. I think it's a, nice to have, not a need to have.
These are too small. My brother give me m12 gen 3 for a birthday gift. We try wood screw 200mm x 8 mm, no problem. We can build a house with it easily.
Battery gets crushed faster, but that's to be expected.

Agreed!
Mine gave up after 12 months of very very light use.
That's crazy. How was the warranty process?
M12 for drywall?
Not sure what exactly your asking. Drywall business = drywall screw gun. But for say handy work, sure. It would be perfect. Lightweight and plenty of power.

@negerwater that's awesome to hear. I don't know about that 250 price though lol
Is it brushless
Yes, I would guess we only have a couple more years before manufactures stop having to brand their tools "brushless".

It's almost impossible to keep track. Even if it was "made in the USA" that could just mean final assembly.

Firstly, thank you for watching. It is appreciated. And look how small my channel is. I can assure you HD isn't paying me lol.
