You're so right about creating with limited supplies - it does push our creativity. It's also so rewarding to work with what we've chosen to use up. That said, if you'd not mentioned it, I'd never have known because you are as artistic, creative and inspiring as always. Hope you've enjoyed a wonderful vacation, and I for one, am so glad you film while away 🥰 Safe travels home and look forward to your play when you have access to ALL your wonderful toys. 🧶🧵🎨💜💙💚💛💖Warmly, Nelusha
Julia, Thank you for all your amazing videos. The instructions and great detail in materials is so very helpful for beginner sewers such as myself. Absolutely enjoy watching your videos. Thank you
Wow Julia this proves how committed you are to your subscribers as you are still being so creative on vacation even! Take a break! Don't burn yourself out as we need ya here 😂 🪡🧵
Hi Sheila, Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. It really means a lot knowing my subscribers are out there! Happy creating, Julia
Julia! I love watching your channel and learning creative ways to use my scraps. You make beautiful items. You inspired me to start my own channel, so I did! I hope to show others creative ways to decorate their homes on a budget :)
Your work is fabulous in everything you do Oddly enough, I make that dragon fly body out of wire and bead the bings I make glass beads , we’ll use to , don’t do anything after my Husband Passed away next month will be 2years Yep all I do is watch . So so many Be safe and stay God blessed.
Hi Julia what a fabulous tutorial thank you so much. It just proves the point that you don’t need tons of supplies to create gorgeous projects, I think it really focuses the creative juices. Thank you for sharing your dragon fly with us all, it is so generous of you. I hope the weather is kind, we are still battling some storms and an awful lot of rain here. I will be certainly following your tutorial to make some journals to sell at Catherine’s school fair later in the year, I am sure they will be popular and raise some funds for her school. Julia I always look forward to your vlogs, you are definitely my favourite. Send you all my love and big hugs xxxxxxx Dorothy 🙋🏻❤️😘🌟
Hi Dorothy, Your comments always brighten my day. Our vacation days are dwindling and I am starting to pack up my sewing area. It has been good to create with only limited supplies. I brought things that I have had in my stash for years. It was good to use them up! I am sending sunny thoughts your way. You've really had a cold, wet season. My daughter lives in Tennessee and they too have had a wet, cold winter. She is so ready for spring! Have fun with those sweet Granddaughters of yours. Thanks for watching! Julia
Joy Boughey well hello again lovely Joy how wonderful to hear from you. I have never forgotten you Joy it is so good to receive your message. I do hope you and your family are well and safe. I do hope we can keep in contact. Big hugs and loves always xxxxxx Dorothy 🙋🏻❤️😘🌟
I appreciate you, Julia....so much!!!❤️ your projects are just down my street and thank you too for the dragonfly template...will make this cover for a travel journal dragonfly fan...bless✨
Hi Julia. I discovered your channel while scrolling RUclips one night when I couldn't sleep. I binge watched so many of your videos last night when I couldn't fall asleep...again. Ha ha. I had to get on my computer today so I could subscribe. (I don't know how to do that using my tv.) Anyway, I love your channel. Thank you for recording and sharing your makes and techniques. You're very inspirational, and I really enjoy the items you make.
Julia that scrap mosaic fabric corner tabs and belly band to the left of the picture really intrigues me. Made from tiny scraps? Please do a how to tutorial on how to make that loveliness.
Julia, these are beautiful and look easy for a beginner! When you said working with limited supplies makes you more creative, I agree, sometimes I want to create something but I have so much stuff , It gets overwhelming and I end up not doing anything:( Thanks for that perspective. Hugs,Judy
So true! Limiting the "stuff" you use really pushes creativity. Sometimes I take a laundry basket and go thru my supplies. That's what I work with for the week. It's fun and helps with those forgotten supplies. Happy creating, Julia
These are awesome Julia! Simple, whimsical and beautiful. I get so many great ideas every time you put up a new video. Glad you are in a sunny and warm location. So ready for warm and sunny days. Hugs! 💕🤗🏝
Good evening Julia....my favorite was the dragonfly and I super loved the way the word faith was in flying path of the dragonfly. Your tutorials always inspire me. Thanks so much❤️
Hi, Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! It really means a lot knowing I have faithful subscribers and RUclips friends out there:)
I have a question Julia. I purchased some duck cloth at Walmart and was wondering if you recommend washing it. It does seem to have a peculiar scent. I'm just wondering if the cloth will get super wrinkly. Thanks Julia.
Hey....Rachael....it’s on the 4th paragraph right before you see the picture of the dragonfly. So beautiful 😍 I believe you have to click on the word “here”.
Julia, what brand of sewing machine do you have? I want something not to extravagant but I can raise and lower the feeddogs easily. I deserve a new one.
Hi Evelyn, I have a Memory Craft Janome. Mine is a top if the line that I got 10+ years ago. Here is a medium priced Janome that has good reviews. It has a lever to drop the feed dogs. It looks like the quilting foot is sold separately. Many machines in this price range will have feed dogs that drop by a lever. Good luck! Free motion stitching is fun and addicting!amzn.to/2UjYhYY
Hi Julia! Trying to see if you are sewing over a double layer of fabric as the initial folding seems to suggest? If so does that mean that one flap has a folded edge and the other a raw edge? It may be that you folded it to iron both journal fabrics together to mark the shape and then cut down the fold. Anyone out there help me please!
Hi Julie, I am so sorry for the confusion. I am not sewing over the double layer of fabric when I sew the design. I always fold the cover before I lay the design in place to help with the placement. I hope this helps, don't hesitate to ask any other questions you may have. Julia
Every time I watch your videos, it makes me want to run to my sewing room and create something. Thank you for your inspiration!
Hi Marilyn, I am so glad you are inspired by my videos. It is my faithful viewers that keep me going:)
I never get tired of watching you create.
Thank you !
