While my hopes aren't as high as they could be, despite everything that's happened in recent months I will continue to hold some optimism for what this game could become. Only time will tell if that optimism is well-placed or not...
If no mans sky could get fixed, this can too, its just if they wanna put the time and the work in, even payday 2 took a long time to get to the the heights it reached. Hopefully it doesn't get abandoned
The current mood for payday 3 overall is exhaustion. We're exhausted of hearing bad news after bad news, delay after delay, ok update after ok update; all inching towards just making a dent in the beheamoth of a task that is improving the game large-scale. A lot of us are tired and understandably so.
Not impossible for them to come back but very difficult especially when it feels like higher ups are betting against the game by moving devs around to other projects I want to see preplanning come back, more r&g for heists and of course offline mode plus a whole lot more yeah a lot of this stuff comes from payday 2 but hey if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
About Offline mode, there is also the thing that if it’s not done then any hope of the game still being playable when servers shut down (assuming things don’t get better) will be lost entirely. As is the folly of Always Online games. If no one is playing, why keep the server on? And then for those that want to play, if the server isn’t on anymore, no one can play or preserve the game unless they find a workaround for play without a server. I still think that having 1 or 2 devs working on offline would be their best bet.
i'm gonna be crystal clear : i wil not buy payday 3 until an actual, working, complete offline mode is added. because with how things are going, if starbreeze ever pulls the plug on the game, it will be unplayable forever and my money will effectivelly be wasted.
Yeah after seeing what happened to xdefiant how can you trust any online game now? Your money and time and passion can be made totally wasted and obsolete with the flick of a switch because some wealthy businesses people who don't care about you said so
I’ll clarify what I meant on smaller scale updates. I did mean by monthly basis payday 2 got content by a monthly basis mostly cycling between Weapons, Heists, character, etc.. If they can do that with payday 3 it’ll be saved but that’s an ‘If’
Payday 3 has an identity crisis. I see more loud than steath play. In a stealth room, players will randomly join, unprepared and ask if its stealth play and proceeds to wreck the game flow. I don't know if quick play is the cause but this seriously needs to be looked into. Also, the reward for stealth play is a joke 250 while loud gets 200; this doesn't encourage stealth play.
I agree with this. I find myself kicking fuckers for not adhering to blatant instructions I provide when they join. I hate being that dude, but I'm left with little alternative on the 6th restart because the level 30 Dallas keeps triggering the lasers and running away from a guard who's trying to escort him fron private area.
But arent stealth games generally quicker anyway. When looking at speed runs they seem to be mostly done in stealth, so maybe thats why the reward is slightly lower, because you can get more per hour
I do want to clarify, I DID mean the higher ups and not the individual developers of payday. I know they have so much passion and love for Payday. I’m just so so annoyed and disappointed time and time again with the higher ups And I do want to state also that it kills me too. I absolutely love Payday, been watching you for 6 or 7 years now, and I’ve always kept up with everything payday. I want nothing more than to see the series explode and to see Starbreeze thrive. I am the number 1 payday fan, and that’s why I just can’t bear to keep hoping anymore for things to change. It’s easier if I presume Starbreeze have abandoned PD3 so if anything good does happen, it’ll be a really lovely surprise - but I don’t expect it
While I have a little more faith than you, I appreciate that you at least recognize that none of this is the fault of the developers. That's more nuance than most "fans" of this game seem to have.
I still believe in it. It has the most hours put into it on my Playstation and I still will play it. I understand how people feel. And maybe they don't make the come back this year. But I'm staying on the ship. And if it fails, I will always have Balatro
Too much pessimism can be unhealthy sure, but so can too much optimism. I don't wish for there to be more bad games and I would like payday 3 to be good, but I firmly believe if it could be, it would be by now. "See where the game is in a year from now" we said that at launch, and look where we are.
It's one thing to stumble and slip in the mud get up and keep moving even if just slowly forward. It's a whole other thing when all you do is clean the mud off. This is all Overkill will ever do mark my words. This entire time, "new dlc", "new skin". Never "reworked heist", "balance and sound changes to weapons". They can promise me a mansion as much as they please but they built it at a muddy funeral grounds.
@ryanstadnick5231 big bank, less than a year after release, was payday 2's 18th heist. Also I didn't say payday 3 was lacking content. Just that it was dogshit
Payday 3 was by far my most played game of 2024. Starbreeze was cooking over the summer with the progression revamp, Boys In Blue, Diamond District, Houston Breakout. But since then it seems Starbreeze’s attitude towards the game changed, and they’ve been fumbling the ball ever since. First World Bank was a nice addition to the game, but aside from some weapon camos and mask designs, there was nothing to keep players invested in a heist they’ve played countless times before in The Heist and Payday 2. So as much as I enjoy the core gameplay of Payday 3, there just isn’t enough content to keep playing, when you’ve hit level 150, and maxed out all the guns. With the developers taking more and more resources away from the game moving forward into this year, I’m not sure how often I’ll revisit this game. What a shame.
I think the tone of this conversation cant continue to sustain itself. Maybe in year 1 or before these announcements we could wax a little more lyrical about the logistics and business decisions but we are hitting an inflextion point. It's about time we be blunt with Starbreeze. I will not be playing or buying anything Payday 3 related until the game is given either proper investment or see significant improvements. I will not be playing or buying Baxter or the PUB G crossover. To be frank I don't care what Starbreeze thinks is right or wrong for their company etc, whatever bullshit excuse they come up with. Until they can deliver on Payday I have no intention of giving any of my time and money to any of their ventures. At some point they will realize that players burned by this reallocation will not be playing their other ventures out of spite or not wanting to be burned again and at that point we will have all already long moved on. I truely hope you can successfully branch out from Payday Troy, because the idea of this company taking down content creators who have dedicated their online careers to them, trusted them, genuinely sickens me.
I've loved and support PD3 since launch and will continue to do so. Best gameplay in the series IMO and my only real complaint is bugs and server issues
@@water754 it's actually my bedsheets 😂😂 thank you though! Makes me laugh when people mock me for them, which has happened several times... because if I cared I wouldn't let them show in a video lol
The point you made at around 12:30, is similar to me but off base. I bought the Gold edition at launch, and played it at launch. There wasn't enough heists and I got bored so stopped. There could be thousands more heists and that's great, but the sheer amount of games on offer today, I have bought and played 10-12 since then I have 40 in my backlog. So when something goes wrong, I have plenty more to play without it bothering me. I think I regret not refunding too, as I may never go back. But hey, I replayed payday 2 just before 3 launched so maybe I will
I don't mind the skill system layout honestly, I just think the skills themselves kind of sucks and people are overanalyzing the system when PD2 had more issues with the design and cost of skills.
I don't think it should be saved at this point tbh. I know thats very negative, but even if it does recover, the state it has been in for a while now will haunt it forever. Maybe Starbreeze need to drop Payday 3 and take what they have learnt from it to make a new game, so 3 can be forgotten about and the company and player base can recover.
I agree that their phrasing of the game having an "identity crisis" is accurate. I'm not too sure who they're trying to appeal to anymore. I feel like they're primarily appealing to loud but the heists dont really feel like a "heist". The multiday heists and having to fight off the cop transitions added a bit of flavor but they dont want to go back to that. Gun attachments are mostly copy-paste. I think they should have devs "blind" play test the heist, stealth and loud, and see if the player has agency in the heist. For example, in gold and sharke, instead of the elevators being only a favor, why are we not allowed to hack the elevator to be in the vault lobby? Why are we always funneled to go through the keypad. Some stealth drop off points suck because its the van in the middle of the street, IM LOOKING AT YOU HALF OF "NO REST FOR THE WICKED" AND "SYNTAX ERROR". The updates have been "good" but the heists just feel like "smash and grabs". I think the game should give players a bit more agency like hitman: where players have to adapt and improvise but have a lot of agency/freedom. And payday being a game about "planning" a heist and maybe having back up plans doesnt seem unreasonable/unrealistic but all we got is "is game loud yet?", "if yes, do loud check list". Which kind of feels like it lead to the boys in blue bug where if it transitioned in the wrong place, the game broke. Not sure if they patched it, havent come back to try first world bank because as stated: a lot of the "new heists" feel like a souless and not that creative checklist. In short, game feels like a "smash and grab" police shooter, probably why a lot of people just play road rage, it's short, sweet, straight to the point, and no annoying circles. It would be like playing mallcrasher in pd2, you either set up devices that plays extremely loud sound/ vibration or some bs that breaks all the glass, shoot High explosive grenades (screw the civs/hostages) to break all the glass, or do the classic run through the mall and shoot it up strategy. Edit: With team and dev time being cut, things are not looking good. Early sentiment was "Do not buy" or "this is what it should've been on release". Updates were good because we were starved of content. I think everyone except the devs will agree the game didnt make a big enough spash. In all honesty, wish them the best at trying to run for "labor of love" for 2025, if they can get the game to a better place, but right now it looks pretty doom and gloom. They're going to have to make new heists, so far everyone has just been enjoying revamped heists.
i stand by what ive said before, without offline, essentially without the modding community that kept pd2 alive for SO LONG the game will stay DOA. ngl i dont think the big new breadwinner for them is gunna pan out either, frankly if they wait that long to see the fumble its probably not coming back which would be really sad to see because the man in charge might as well work for activision.
I'll play it occasionally, but I'm not spending any more money on the game or company. They higher ups in Starbreeze just really don't know how to properly drive the Payday franchise.
They won't get a penny from me until there's an offline mode. I'm done with paying or supporting Studios that just don't deliver and then make your digital goods disappear due to servers shut down. I think we were patient enough, we're talking years at this point. Sorry but no. I haven't even bothered to play the last paid dlc because the framework is still meh.
I started playing PD1 and played PD2 in beta. I have clocked 2446 hours in PD2. I played the game for that long because there was a certain feel to it that made it feel good. You heard the heisters whispering to each other and really creating that atmosphere like you were somewhere that you shouldn't be. The soundtrack was good and it worked. The heists really captured the essence of payday. I just don't know what payday 3 can do to be better. The game just feels like its lacking something that the previous games had that made them fun. Perhaps it's the feeling that you were there and in the heist. It was immersive. A big problem that I've had with Payday 3 is all of the lies. Saying they would do one thing then right after delivering on totally different stuff. This happened over and over again. I know the intentions were good but when you say you are going to do something people get the impression that you are doing that next. Not later down the line. So when you say "we are working on operation medic bag and it will have this thing and that thing" and the next patch doesn't have this thing and that thing, people get annoyed, pissed off, frustrated,... any number of other feelings. This can be brushed off if it happens once but it has happened dozens of times now over the course of a year. When you say "Hey guess what!? New character coming up!" and then you show us a new gun or a gun skin in the next update, it's very misleading and it's annoying when it's some gun skin that nobody cares about.
11:30 This part hits so home to me. My best friend, who I used to play PD2 with a lot, has also given up completely on PD3 after playing it thoroughly at launch. I can never get him back onto the game, even if I occasionally feel like just having some mindless fun in it. With all it's flaws, PD3 still offers some fun gunplay to me, and that power fantasy which I enjoy, and even after going back and playing PD2 again, I still prefer PD3... 3 has ruined 2 for me with it's improved feel and oomph, and yet it's still so raw, and it's future seems more and more hopeless. I am still very much waiting on Armor 2.0. I wish it hadn't been delayed. I very much think we need that skill revamp update quite badly. And yet the game is getting no funding, no devs, no attention. To an outsider, it very much feels like Starbreeze had given up on the game right at launch already, even though it could VERY MUCH be saved if only they tried, goddammit... Yet they aren't. It's incredibly frustrating.
it was ample time available to them to hit the mark, instead they met criticism with ignorance and dishonesty. as a fan of payday 2 since... 2016 or so im so done with the devs and the sequel, fuck it lol
I'm in a weird state with this game. I don't play it. But when they release a new heist, I will check it out. But somehow this game just doesn't have pulling power that payday 2 had. I will play the same heists over and over again in PD2. But in this game, I play a heist once and then put the game down again until the next one. Nothing is making me want to keep playing. I feel like if this game had all the payday 2 heists on it, I still wouldn't want to play it. There is something wrong with this game that I can't put my finger on. But it is there.
"One Payday 3 video a week" Bro chances are those videos will be a 15 second short of you saying "game is still dead" which would honestly be hilarious lmao
I know people aren't a huge fan of crime Boss but at least please try it is a very fun game I believe it's on sale for $8 right now so it wouldn't be that much of a waste if you don't like it
I will tell you about what and how I see it from my side, as a player from Russia. At the time of the announcement of the game in January 2023, there was a huge noise in the gaming community of my country about Payday 3, but as soon as it became known that Deep Silver would be the publisher, it became clear that the game would become unavailable in the territory of all CIS. In CIS, they really loved the second part, and were looking forward to the third part, but at the moment, due to things happening in the world, it is not available here and only a smaller number of people play who have found a way around the restriction. Hence the small online in this game, because during the entire time of playing the second part, I practically did not come across people from other countries, and the well-known build of the second part from Russia is still popular in the second part (Stolen build). As I see it, if Starbreeze were neutral to politics and could put pressure on their publisher, thereby pushing through access to the game around the world, the online in the game would have grown. Most of the problems with unplayability of builds and perks will probably be solved in the game in February, and then the game Almir and Andreas will just have to release more and more heists, because at the moment there are few heists, as well as their replayability and options for passing. I wish success to this game and further prosperity, but if things continue to go the way they are now, then most likely 25 will be the end for the franchise, especially with Den of Wolfs approaching ♥♥♥
A little late, but if you are still looking for something else to stream, maybe consider Helldivers 2? I am sure someone said this already, and I have to admit, I have never watched any of your streams. However, I think Helldivers 2 could be good for you to stream.
I'm upset with the gameplay, the skills , the armor, and the lack of ammo for shotguns and dual wielding weapons. So basically everything we loved about payday 2. I seen a video that said they did not want to make payday 3 like an updated payday 2 and I feel like that was a big mistake.
I could understand pd3 not resembling 1. Every sequel must break away someway. Payday 2 went for the over the top approach of running 100mph, firing crossbows into bulldozers as I chuck a spear into a medic. This was wanted and what EVERYONE knows the Payday franchise for. Everyone knows wolf killed a dozer by running a drill through his eye during a getaway from breaking a crew member out of prison on their way to break into the DOJ. This over the topness was clearly the right direction. Nothing in PD3 compares. The goat simulator crossover has my attention more now than the entirety of payday 3.
Feel like atthis point, it's probably better to go to payday 2, especially as it has mods and modded heists, the community can keep a game like payday 2 alive which is where I'm going to stick to.
I recently reinstalled Payday 3 and I really hope my absence has made the game a bit more fun for me. To be honest, I kinda stopped paying attention to PD3 entirely so my frustrations with the game aren't as fresh as they could be. Hopefully they fixed some stuff I really wanted while I was away but even they didn't, maybe I won't care as much now. I play solo exclusively but as long as I can still pause the game when I need to, maybe it'll be fun again.
ive been saying this since launch, i think there needs to be an actual reason to play the game eg: story mode, a mode that maybe shuffles heists, challeneges that give you an incentive to play the game through rewards like masks, weapon skins etc. Basically the game is just 13/14 heists (icr) and thats it, no real reason to replay heists after a couple of times.
Base game hasnt been updated or significantly changed since launch, while also failing to add in day one features over a year. Then they go ahead and say their "Operation Medic Bag" is complete, while leaving even less staff to work on it. Let it go my guy, play it if you enjoy it, but dont count on it having a future.
My thoughts are still that the game will die when the contract ends in march. Btw the daily quests have not reset since 1/1/25. It's like payday 3 doesn't even think that 2025 exists and we're stuck on the same dailies from 31/12/24 still saying completed. It's so over
I want Payday 3 to succeed but currently two problems I have is my little brother can't even log into the game on this PlayStation even after I've gone over to try to fix it and my Xbox version has the unfortunate issue of longer loading times the more DLCs I have. I can't play with my brother and I can't stand the extra loading times that make someone who wanted to contribute suffer.
I havent been able to load into a game without it taking 10 minutes (on xbox series X) dropped the game a few months ago and it seems they still haven’t fixed it. on top of that the syntax error compensation items (after me sending countless tickets to get it fixed) still remains unfixed. So all in all. Not great.
I understand folk want offline mode, I do too, but I mainly play this game for the co-op experience. Personally, I'd rather get more content before I can play without an internet connection.
And if this game gets the plug pulled, then the lack of an offline mode will literally prevent you from playing any of the new content they add, including the drills and saws you so desperately crave.
@thegreatandpowerfuldc5977 I'm sure it'd be no different than Back 4 Blood. If I recall correctly they didn't fully implement offline mode until one or two updates before they stopped producing content for it. That's not saying they shouldn't get it done now, but I'm sure they'll at least release offline mode before/if they pull the plug. Currently, offline mode seems more probable than C4 and SAWS. At least it's on the table. 🤣
It's not particularly surprising that the executives are so out of touch and don't care. The main one who would make these decisions is unfortunately from EA and Embracer. It'd be great if we didn't have to deal with EA business practices. I hope we can raise enough awareness or something to change the tides.
Hey my comment made the cut, thanks Troy! Re. Resource allocation and would I rather armour 2.0 or skill rework vs. offline mode, I'd still say offline mode is more important. What's the point of getting armour 2.0 if 2 months later the game gets shut down and becomes completely unplayable? It's a very real possibility right now. The assumption is prioritising these other features will save the game from being shut down, but if they don't, then it's all for nothing. At least with offline mode we can keep and play the game we paid for, and then future updates like a skill rework will also remain playable when SBZ stop paying for servers. Whether it's in 2 months or 20 years.
I haven't played since it got taken off game pass, the only reason id buy it is if they add infamy reseting. There is no replayability for me and even when i had access to the game id barely play bc the level cap was so low i wouldn't have a reason to play anymore once reaching it.
Yup, if there is no game to come back to in a year or two, it's no one's fault other than SBZ Execs. At what point does the board realize what's happening and sack the Execs responsible.
Hey I made it into the video! As a response I know the company won’t put all hands on deck to give payday the resurgence it needs, but seeing a large “all hands on deck” sort of approach similar to Op Med Bag I think is what the game still needs. I think Op Med Bag made good strides, but personally I believe the game still needs that level of commitment or more. As you mentioned with every good thing the game offered, there was new (sometimes game breaking) bugs introduced alongside them. I have full confidence in Almir, Andreas, and what I’m sure is an amazing kickass team of developers. But with as small as the presumably team is with the smaller investment, I have a gut feeling that amazing content will be coming but at much to infrequent a pace to keep myself and others coming back to the game. I’m an Xbox player, so I know PC may not have this problem. But with Xbox it is imperative to keep your game fun and enjoyable with players wanting to return to it, because you’re not just battling with other games to get the consumers attention. You’re battling for space on the hard drive. With my Xbox I may only have space for 5 games at any given time. And personally if I don’t think I’m coming back to a game anytime soon, it gets uninstalled. And then the game has a new problem of “Does the game have enough new content or enough changes that I think I will enjoy it more than one of the five games on my console now? And will I enjoy it for more than a week? Does it have staying power?” And since Boys in Blue the answer has been a resounding no. And before that it was the month of launch. I can not speak for PC or PS because I don’t have those platforms so I don’t know if they have a similar conundrum, but I’m sure most Xbox players have been in my shoes with payday or any other game where the game is never worth uninstalling another one to play again. So even if the game is great in the future and if I played I’d fall in love and invest thousands of hours into it, I may never know if I don’t think it’s better than the 5 games on my console. Call of duty takes up the equivalent of 2-5 other games but it had my interest and confidence enough that I made room to install and try it. Payday simply doesn’t have that. The game is maybe a quarter of the size of COD and it still isn’t worth justifying? The game is desperate need of the “Hey look at me! I’ve got all this new content and this very unique thing to offer!” I know Andreas said they were fixing the identity crisis and skills and everything which is great. Once those are fixed I have confidence in the team that the new skill tree and identity will be amazing finally make the game worth installing. But the team size/investment has concerned that there may not be any fans left to try and hook into by the time they finish
Two minds on it. On one hand and purely for gameplay, I think it's far better than PD2 but, conversely, it doesn't really feel as fun. But that's perhaps not a fair critique because the reason PD2 was such fun was the number of characters and heists so it's tinted specs, really. If you compare PD3 to PD2 after a year and a bit then I'd say PD3 is on much better ground. But the issues are some decisions like ditching the PD2 Infamy tiers, skill trees and ignoring customisation options until they threw in a few new designs lately. A big part of the enjoyment of PD2 was the variety in customisation so it felt more personal.
I've not played the game in a year. But how many times can you play the same map when there is only two possible ways of completing it loud/quite. After a certain point you realise there's nothing to buy so what's the point.
I'm indifferent overall at the moment. I do want more content and I really hope they can deliver quality content throughout the year but i'm just keeping myself occupied with other games like Marvel Rivals and Sonic x Shadow Generations.
I love all the new content Payday 3 has made and the Stealth is leagues better than Payday 2 but the core skill system compared to Payday 2 is just so much worse in terms of fun
Honestly I have been enjoying payday 3 for the most part, I don't understand people saying they regret their pre-order. I am disappointed in the lack of meaningful updates and lack of content, as well as no offline mode, and it is stupid that they can't keep promises. I still though see people trying to turn payday 3 into payday 2, which doesn't make sense for a sequel. I'm not saying the armour and skill system is perfect, they definitely need to be changed up a bit, but reverting it to the payday 2 system is not gonna work. Wanna take elements of the payday 2 system go right ahead but I'm tired of people saying that everything about pd3 is garbage and everything about pd2 is perfect. I have slight optimistic view about how things might turn out. With a smaller team, they are gonna have to get more creative in order to get players back.
I regret telling my friends that PD3 was coming out. We collectively wasted ~$500. Two of the four (counting myself) did not get a SINGLE thing from the gold edition (no cosmetics, no free dlc, nothing). The second didn't get his cosmetics but did get the dlc as far as I'm aware. I was the only one where things worked fine. The two I mentioned earlier did submit a support ticket 9 months ago and STILL have not gotten a SINGLE response. Tell me. Without lying to my face. Did they earn that 500 or so dollars? Or do we have the right to say "We fully regret buying PD3".
still think a lot of stuff needs fixing, not to say I don't enjoy the game but average game session for payday 3 is about an hour of doing 3 unique heists followed by "Nah I odn't wanna do _____" or "nah we already played ________" first world bank feels like they were given the groundwork for a heist but were too focused on making it a new experience while neglecting the whole set of planning that should have gone into the heist in the first place, like thermite in the photo copier instead of Bile dwap and running back through a choke point to get it
Idk… I preordered the game and not dissatisfied in such way that many of comment authors. Only thing I’m missing is repayablity on the maps (changes of entrances into vault, spots of cameras, location of locked/unlocked doors etc.). In any other aspects game is more or less ok. My mates are lot happy with lack of content but it’s based of moving from pd2 (that is already full of content) to pr3 (that just started its way).
They spat on their customers then made the game a little better by using a lot of empty hope and promises just so that they can sell dlc and spit once again directly in the faces that supported their unholy dumpster of a company for the past 10 years.
Also regarding the small team development that you keep pecking at, you don't need a big team to make good games, stardew valley made by one person! We who were about to die made by one person is now a team of five! And many others number of developers does not dictate good game, it's the dedication that the individual has and Starbreeze and Almir has none multiple lies over the years even with the whole loot box fiasco in Payday 2
I have 1800 hrs on Payday 2, here's my take: They tried to go back to the PD: The Heist formula to cater to the vocal minority, and that has been the fundamental problem of PD3 ever since. I played PD2 since Aug 2013 so I am very familiar with the amount of people on the forums back then criticizing Overkill for not sticking with the same gameplay loop from The Heist. But unsurprisingly, the horde shooter mechanics and RNG prop placements added so much replayability that the core playerbase was always there to host or fill lobbies when the wave of new players come and go. PD3 is suffering from the same syndromes as Killing Floor: How do you make a new game without it just being a remaster of the old one? I believe that is an impossible task. People who have spent thousands of hours on Payday 2 really just wanted the same game but better graphics. If they just copied the armor system, skill tree, progression, and heists from Payday 2 into Payday 3, it would be more popular. Payday 3 serves more as a sequel to Payday The Heist, whereas Payday 2 still stands as the flagship.
I probably missed the obvious, but what's missing on the Offline mode for it to be "fully functional"? These days I only do offline and it's okay? Same as online, but less wait trying to connect.
A very fair question, I should've reiterated their statement on it when Operation Medic Bag dropped. Here's the wording from their site: "Firstly, we will be developing a stand-alone solo mode you can get into without going through the matchmaking flow. This will be a local game, on your own machine, thereby circumventing the need to connect to a server. We see this being rolled out in two phases: Phase One will still require an online connection to our backend systems for progression, unlocks, etc. (Added in Update 1.2.0) Phase Two will look to improve on the solo mode implementation and allow you to play the game without requiring a constant internet connection. You will need to connect intermittently to our backend to upload your progression, but will otherwise be able to play offline. We’ll need to come back with details on exactly how this will pan out."
I've made a whole video review of PD3 a few days ago and honestly to summarize it? I think the fun is right around the corner. If the next few updates land and we get Jacket with it? I see a redemption story here. I love PD3 - when it works it has no competion. The "RоUgH DiAmОnD" descriptor was not applicable on launch IMO,but now I'd argue we're there. It's so so close to being goodI can't help but hope for a comeback
Den of wolves will probably be the last nail in the coffin. Theres literally no reason to play payday 3 over 2 other than graphics. Everything from weapons to builds are just worse in 3. Ex. In payday 2 you can do a turret build allowing you to get up to 6 turrets that you can swap the mode of. In payday 3 instead of expanding on this they watered it down. Now you can have max 2 turrets that are a little taller. Or for example when they added the like ultimate things into payday 3 instead of using this to add new content they took previous content like the minigun and moved it over into this system. So again they watered something down
i really love PD3 and i would easily put another 1,5k hours into it but somehow since mid/end december payday 3 is cooking my CPU hard and its always crashing my pc after 1-2 heists, i dont know why it suddenly got like this but i dont have this problem in any other game 😥
Gamers nowadays need to invest their time and money into games that treat us better. Payday 3, Fortnite, Black Ops 6, and Ubisoft games are a few examples of companies taking advantage of us. They care more about money than providing a good product.
Can I get some comments on Unintelligible's video on the awful anemy AI a few weeks ago. This video is approaching 250k views... And it is a spot on critique of the enemy AI in Payday 3.
I will gladly come back to the game if they just make the enemies more of a threat, include more skills because there is not enough variety STILL and allow us to stay in the same lobby with the same three people 🙅♂️ THAT'S THE MAIN THING I WANT, REPLAYABILITY IN A SNAP OF A FINGER. I'm tired of always having to quit the job wait for my game to load go back to menu only to host another job and repeat the process 😒
I’m optimistic about payday 3 future u feel like hoard shooters are not very common recently but I it’s the release of Den of wolves and killing floor 3 payday future could be grim but I’m keeping hope for payday 3
The game feels good and they've added a lot of heists people like. However I will legitimately never forgive them for not allowing gamesharing on the PS5 despite the description of every DLC directly stating it is allowed. They make the license for the DLC tied to the nebula of the PSN that purchased it meaning it can't be GameShared. They wanted so badly to not miss out on an extra DLC purchase that they won't even get the first purchase now. My friend bought Syntax Error and im ngl, neither of us like it at all and I can't even play it on my own to get more familiar with it. For that reason neither of us have been willing to buy any of the subsequent DLC. It would be one thing if it was just the maps but one of us not having the guns and outfits is just pointless. In a move to make more money they will make less
I've never seen this problem on actual game content for a Playstation console in my life. The only similar thing I've seen is on MWIII and BO6 you couldn't gameshare the Closed Betas, thats not great but it isn't entire DLCs
Haven't even watched the video yet but the only way PD3 can recover is if they just make PD2 but with the improved engine/gunplay. That's literally all people wanted. Also, I miss Bane's voice.
"It's over" "We're so back" cycle shows how ppls hypocritical and don't know what they really wants. SBZ gave Cook off and Station "We're so back" 1-2 days later "It's over", with Bib, Fear and Greed and even FWB was same. I used to get angry with such hypocrites, now it's funny to see how they are still trying to find serious downsides to show how "BAD" the game is.🍿
I'm surprised you are still talking about payday 3. At this rate, it will probably take a very long time for the game to recover, but because you still talk about payday, how about you try talk about Notoriety, the roblox version of payday that starbreeze did a collab with on last december?
While my hopes aren't as high as they could be, despite everything that's happened in recent months I will continue to hold some optimism for what this game could become. Only time will tell if that optimism is well-placed or not...
I really hope this game is able to recover and live up to its predecessor

I still think that having 1 or 2 devs working on offline would be their best bet.
i'm gonna be crystal clear : i wil not buy payday 3 until an actual, working, complete offline mode is added.
because with how things are going, if starbreeze ever pulls the plug on the game, it will be unplayable forever and my money will effectivelly be wasted.
i bought pd3 only to find out that the "solo" mode still requires ps+, like what kinda BS is that
Yeah after seeing what happened to xdefiant how can you trust any online game now?
I’m just so so annoyed and disappointed time and time again with the higher ups
And I do want to state also that it kills me too.
Bro payday 2 a year into launch only had like 6 heists lmfao
@ryanstadnick5231 big bank, less than a year after release, was payday 2's 18th heist.
Also I didn't say payday 3 was lacking content. Just that it was dogshit
@@PangolinPyrrhic yeah ur right the game is pretty ass

But hey, I replayed payday 2 just before 3 launched so maybe I will
2025 here the answer is currently looking like a fat: no.
I don't mind the skill system layout honestly, I just think the skills themselves kind of sucks and people are overanalyzing the system when PD2 had more issues with the design and cost of skills.
Tbh I just uninstalled the game. I’m bored and honestly don’t care about the game anymore.
I haven't even bothered to play the last paid dlc because the framework is still meh.
i cant trust the devs amy more
I started playing PD1 and played PD2 in beta.
One Payday video a week ...? Is there really much more to discuss about the franchise that hasn't been said already ?
Oh it absolutely will depend on what happens with Payday 3. If things are super quiet, I'll miss weeks out. It all depends on where we go from here!
@@RedArcherLiveI’m looking forward to all of the content opportunities from new releases this year for you! Can we expect a KCD 2 video ? 😉
It's incredibly frustrating.

calling an early access game 'live service' is just as wild.
Is it just me or is getting into the game taking ages? Logging in takes like 5-6 minutes and finding a joining a match takes another 3 minutes. 😢
i'm just not sure how many new players they can get anyone that i know who saw the launch believe the game is just like concord dead and gone

Seeing myself and my comment here really felt like that Spongebob meme where he keeps pointing at the TV yelling “LOOK GARY! IT’S ME!”

@@gunnerdown I keep falling behind on my crime boss plans but yep, that's my plan!
I'm upset with the gameplay, the skills , the armor, and the lack of ammo for shotguns and dual wielding weapons. So basically everything we loved about payday 2. I seen a video that said they did not want to make payday 3 like an updated payday 2 and I feel like that was a big mistake.
Losing PAYDAY 2’s spirit killed PAYDAY 3 for me. We wanted more PAYDAY 2, not a fresh slate that leaves behind everything good about PAYDAY 2.
I just bought the collector's edition. I mainly bought it for the mask and the dlc. I really hope the game improves I spent $100 on it.
It's an uphill battle, but I really think they can do it!

Not great.
Needs a full offline mode
Thank you fellow for your video and sharing your thoughts
I hope payday will survive. As we all knows, hope is dying the last.
But the team size/investment has concerned that there may not be any fans left to try and hook into by the time they finish
i saw the title i just wanted to say payday 3 was terrible and id rather play league point is JUST PLAY PAYDAY 2
Real constructive comment.
First world bank was…..fun but stupidly easy on stealth
You keep using the smaller staff and team as an excuse for them. Why is it smaller in the first place????
still think a lot of stuff needs fixing, not to say I don't enjoy the game
but average game session for payday 3 is about an hour of doing 3 unique heists followed by "Nah I odn't wanna do _____" or "nah we already played ________"
first world bank feels like they were given the groundwork for a heist but were too focused on making it a new experience while neglecting the whole set of planning that should have gone into the heist in the first place, like thermite in the photo copier instead of Bile dwap and running back through a choke point to get it
Could you do a tier list ranking all the heists?
Idk… I preordered the game and not dissatisfied in such way that many of comment authors. Only thing I’m missing is repayablity on the maps (changes of entrances into vault, spots of cameras, location of locked/unlocked doors etc.). In any other aspects game is more or less ok. My mates are lot happy with lack of content but it’s based of moving from pd2 (that is already full of content) to pr3 (that just started its way).
Don't care, I already moved on
They spat on their customers then made the game a little better by using a lot of empty hope and promises just so that they can sell dlc and spit once again directly in the faces that supported their unholy dumpster of a company for the past 10 years.
Payday 3 serves more as a sequel to Payday The Heist, whereas Payday 2 still stands as the flagship.
honestly, if payday 2 can make a comeback, i think payday 3 can aswell
I probably missed the obvious, but what's missing on the Offline mode for it to be "fully functional"? These days I only do offline and it's okay? Same as online, but less wait trying to connect.
A very fair question, I should've reiterated their statement on it when Operation Medic Bag dropped. Here's the wording from their site:
"Firstly, we will be developing a stand-alone solo mode you can get into without going through the matchmaking flow. This will be a local game, on your own machine, thereby circumventing the need to connect to a server.
We see this being rolled out in two phases:
Phase One will still require an online connection to our backend systems for progression, unlocks, etc. (Added in Update 1.2.0)
Phase Two will look to improve on the solo mode implementation and allow you to play the game without requiring a constant internet connection. You will need to connect intermittently to our backend to upload your progression, but will otherwise be able to play offline. We’ll need to come back with details on exactly how this will pan out."
We just need more stages & everything will be alright…give us 3 new stages next update
I wish I wanted to play this game.
Careful what you wish for.
Persoannly I would take the offline mode, because then modders can take carw of the armor and skill system
Has anyone else had problems with the dailies not refreshing because for the last 3 or 4 days my dailies haven't refreshed even the ones completed.
They said its a bug caused by the year change
If Payday 3 adds dodge, then I’ll come back. I really loved it because of the variety of builds… but now it’s just… nothing to me.
Can I get some comments on Unintelligible's video on the awful anemy AI a few weeks ago. This video is approaching 250k views... And it is a spot on critique of the enemy AI in Payday 3.
It's a good video, tho it sucks that the guy is an a-hole
I’m surprised they haven’t terminated their contract with you
they dont do that unless you break nda
Why would they?
He's allowed to criticise, it's one of the reasons why he joined
I will gladly come back to the game if they just make the enemies more of a threat, include more skills because there is not enough variety STILL and allow us to stay in the same lobby with the same three people 🙅♂️ THAT'S THE MAIN THING I WANT, REPLAYABILITY IN A SNAP OF A FINGER. I'm tired of always having to quit the job wait for my game to load go back to menu only to host another job and repeat the process 😒
pay day 3 really never got a good name at launch i love the game but i do think we got this way too quick
I’m optimistic about payday 3 future u feel like hoard shooters are not very common recently but I it’s the release of Den of wolves and killing floor 3 payday future could be grim but I’m keeping hope for payday 3
Raid ww2 will blow up in maybe 3-4 months. Sorta depends on how soon the devs release the weapon leveling rework, the new raid and etc.
So when is armor 2.0 dropping?
I know PD3 will be back and Starbreeze Studios will not want you anymore 😂
