As someone who's had a car fire and lost the car as a result, my heart goes out to them. It's a horribly helpless feeling. But, as with my situation, it's good that there was/is so many people around willing to help/make sure they're okay
ofc it sucks but always remember cars are replaceble but a life is not

I had my car burn to the ground about a year ago. I remember standing there, broken, just watching my pride and joy burn. I was speechless. I didn’t feel anything for days. It was an out of this world experience. I don’t wish it on anyone

Yeah, ...I had an engine fire in my much-beloved old Duster, when she threw a rod out the crankcase, there was a flaming hole right under the fuel line and one of those plastic fuel filters for carbs. I found myself very under-equipped for the situation, beating at the flames with an old radiator blanket I had in the trunk, which didn't help much, and it would have melted and made it worse if I just stuffed it in there, ...eventually just had to run. Happily, it went out eventually without utter catastrophe, (And a great donor for a motor and transmission swap turned up real cheap, so the car lived,) ...but it was still a terrible, helpless kind of experience. I had nightmares about what could have happened for a couple weeks. At least I could fix the ol' gal, substantially upgraded, even.

This is what happened to my dad his BMW E30.. He loaned it to a friend go get parts for his own BMW, and he got T boned by a van in a T crossing, the van was in the wrong, hit the E30 full in the driver’s side..
Even my heart broke that day, since it was my car aswell.. 😞

From what I understood there was a possibility of pro 1 but it was not an absolute and if he has a busy year like last year pro 2 is probably a better option.
Not to mention the fact that he really needs more time to situate his FD career. Like another year in pro 2 would help him so he has everything in order, because genuinely dont think he is prepared for pro 1.
Like Jimmy bob said, over all last he did not do very well last year, and throwing him into the pit with guys like james deane, JTP, Aasbo. He has all the funding 90% of the gear, but he needs experience running his program.

Mike’s editing through this entire trip has been fantastic! As a firefighter and ems worker, I was really confused that their insurance would let them have an event without fire/ems present.
I saw it on Facebook yesterday, im so glad everyone was alright and had their extinguishers. Just wish there was a proper fire crew or bigger track extinguishers.. that could have saved the car. 😭 Rip Vett.
Emily Daniel well the track is a go kart track. So I can understand why they didn’t have an appropriate fire crew. At the same time they shouldn’t host events like this if they don’t have a fire crew to support it

At Adams we had the berm on the south all catch on fire a couple years back and the fire extinguishers weren’t enough, good thing the fire fighters station is like 5 minutes away.

@@whydoihave6neutrals772 one example is Chrysler vans have possibly defective o rings on fuel injectors, outside of warranty and I'm not sure if an official recall was ever issued, gasoline will soak your engine bay and explode burning the van down, if this happens you are responsible for it. Your insurance if full coverage likely covered, but if you have liability only nothing is covered.

I've seen this happen in person, it was not a drift car but it was a very nice 3 year old lifted truck with a lot of work done to it. All we could do was watch it burn and it was so far in the woods we could not get a fire truck to it to put it out. Its the most helpless feeling ever . I'm glad everyone's ok .

Yea only downside about Grange... have to bring your own safety equipment, that’s basically the owners house since he lives at the track so you would think he would think twice about safety since it’s basically his backyard

Micha's car is ridiculously expensive and it would've been a waste to see it go too, hence the quick takeoff. I'm glad it didn't escalate to multiple cars or even a life. But the loss for Rudy and his wife is just unbelievable.

Such a tragedy to see not only a build with so much time and heart invested but sentimental value just up in flames. Not all tracks are created equal, but life goes on. The emotions of watching pride and joy burn down after you tried all you could is overwhelming.

I feel sad for the guy and I felt the panic in all his friends voices saying he was on fire hoping that their friend would be alright. I’m glad he made it okay even with the complete loss of the vehicle if he made it out alright then it was the best outcome.

Hey Adam I'm in the fire service myself in the navy... I would recommend a portable AFFF extinguisher its a foam agent designed for smothering any fuel/oil based fire.

We always keep a fire truck at our local track and everyone is required to have some sort of extinguisher in their car. Sad to see this happen to such good people and especially sad to know it could’ve been prevented with better safety precautions. Glad everyone is ok, hopefully they can get back drifting again soon!

Don’t have a car but I know how it feels to have something bad happen and have something important in your life ripped out of you. My heart goes out to them and hope they can at least still have the memories and build another cool car like that and over come this.
Grange is pretty lucky no one was injured because the lack of safety equipment at that track would have bankrupted the family for generations! This pisses me off to see happen, hopefully everyone will help them get back out there and sliding again!💪🏽🤙🏼

Real Richmond drift week organizers could have not ran the track? Realized they didn’t have fire equipment up to par.. but they didn’t. Did they bring it up in the drivers meeting? No. Did they have drivers wear fire protective gear? No.
For a track rental you are responsible for everything as the renter. I promise you that track has extinguishers and fire crew when they throw events.. but drift week was throwing this event, and didn’t care about safety.
Man, thats tragic. Gotta feel for their loss. Awesome to see a community supporting their people though.

Just glad u guys got the driver out, just a month or two ago my swapped rx8 that my channel is based around caught fire at my house inside the garage. Put blood, sweat, and tears on an 8 year build.. on to the next cause the driver still here 🤙🏼

I know the pain man. Had it happen to my Honda just as I was getting ready to turbo it. Rebuilt the engine and transmission. Had a set of brand new toyo proxes and all I was do was helping my mum move and bam went up in her front yard after I checked the plug wires. My heart goes out to ya dude good luck on the next one.

This is for Adam LZ That Corvette stop by in Albuquerque NewMexico to pick up some parts from us at the local speed shop at Yearwood performance. They were having power steering problem. We talked a bit and they told us they had a big drift event they were going to and after setting them up with the The fittings they needed to get them on their way we wish them luck and thanked us for the help! Glad no one was hurt and we wish them the best and sorry for the loss of their drift car!

And make it way more expensive for people to go on the track? Make it even harder for people to rent the track and drive safe instead of doing side shows? Yes the track should have some fire equipment but an entire fire department, with people who need to get payed... excessive for less than 20 cars.
Basic fire equipment should of been on hand from the track since they rented the track out I now in uk track hire it requirement to have basic fire equipment out for private track days
All they would need is a single brush truck which shouldn't be a problem seeing that California has plenty to fight the wildfires.
Well see a track should have to have a fire rig at lease so people dont have that it should be a regulation to own a track
@@usenobrake it's not an official track like you're thinking of. it may become more equipped in the future with the new owner (track changed hands last year and he is getting his bearings straight and making changes). besides that, they all signed a waiver knowing full well what equipment was there. sucks the guy lost his car, but they all knew ahead of time what services were offered.

6:21 that supra lifting a tyre off the ground looks absolutely terrifying. This track looks insane and I can see how a car ended up catching on fire! Glad that everyone made it out okay, and this should be a good lesson to everyone in the drifting/racing game. Get yourself a good fire suppression system, that shit will save your life if you get in a crash and your car catches on fire. Needs foam sprayed in the engine bay, trunk, fuel tank, and seats as far as I can remember. Cheers all! Good luck out there!
