Its funny how the forest takes things back to its natural state , I recently visited my old camping spot that I would hike to spend the weekends 45 years later the forest has taken back everything that I lashed together or built except my stacked rock fire pit , barely recognized the area now .
I love the fact that you are trying to preserve the fruits of another’s labor. It is so respectful, and isn’t it just incredible what our ancestor’s built with almost no tools? I used to own an old grist mill in Canada, and seeing this amazing industrial building that was so beautiful and functional, built by hand was amazing. Thanks so much for sharing this lovely surprise, what a treat.
That old building looks so good now and I love the way the new stone walkway is looking. Will look at the chat with the Baird's now. Enjoy these videos so much!
Nothing like adding a hat and coat to an old building in an effort to maintain its heritage for a few years longer. That you can still use the original build, albeit not as the cold storage , is amazing just how long wisely built structures can exist even when exposed to the vast differences in weather conditions . The old flagstone path is the icing on the cake Carol. I wonder just how many more decades the old building will hold its head up high and continue to announce its pride of place to the world. I'm so blessed that you decided to maintain the old structure rather than tear it down and have to start again. From Australia with gratitude and Gods richest blessings . 🇦🇺🤗💞🙏👌👍✌️👊👏✝️🇨🇦
What a fantastic job Carol, Peter and Pete! When my family moved to Cape Cod after my Dad retired from the Navy, there was a round cellar until my Dad decided to lift the entire house and put a full cellar in. xoxo
Excited to watch this. I love Jim and Tori. I can’t watch enough of their trips. Love how important the cabin history is to you all. You guys are so blessed..it’s enchanting. Missing your mom…sorry.
What a beautiful spot...You know what you guys should get? Just one of those kids wagons, plastic or the old red metal wagons, for moving rock, or leaves, sticks...sap...and more. Anyway, thanks for sharing your peace-filled lives
HI PETE CAROL & PETER 👋 JOBS WELL DONE 👏 THE WALK WAY UNDER THE DIRT PATH WAS A NICE SURPRISE ! ADDED A LOT TO WHAT YOU'LL HAVE DONE . CAROL'S PAINT BRUSH STROKES MADE IT PERFECT TOUCH ❤ THE SAW SAW DID MAKE IT EASIER TO CUT THE ROOTS & EASIER TO SHOVEL THE SOIL OUT OF THE WAY . TURNED OUT REALLY NICE . TEAM WORK ❤ WINTER DOESN'T WANT TO GIVE UP , DOES IT . BE SAFE ☺️ 🙏 HAVE FUN ☺️ 🙏 ENJOYED ❤☺️ 🙏GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ☺️ 🙏 THANK YOU ☺️ 🙏HOPING THE REST OF THE FAMILY IS DONG WELL TOO ☺️ 🙏
Absolute fantastic job that was so cool of you Carol finding that pathway don’t forget to throw some like cement or concrete on each side to block those roots and also don’t forget to put silicone on the ceiling rooftop that you guys just put on to help seal it up But otherwise fantastic. Fantastic job What a great find find that pathway. And a great job to Pete Junior for clearing it totally up Ok 👌🏼🔥🤠🔥Camping Russ out
Wonderful you are doing everything to save the old historical structures on the island. You have so much history right under your feet of days gone by. These will be wonderful things to show and tell your grandchildren about someday! Looks great!!., wow!
Nice. You just gave that old building a new life. There is just something so rewarding in refurbishing old antiques and working in the gardens. Thanks for sharing.
IWatch all jim & Tori's videos of their family love their videos they're wonderful people and their boys are absolutely adorable I wondering when he would have you on his podcast can't wait to watch the podcast and I didn't know Tori had her own channel going to have to go check that out I've been subscribed to their RUclips channel for a good long time now
Great job, that old out building looks like new again and matches the others on the island! The stone walkway was a great find, too! The scenery and choice of music is perfect for a Sunday morning watch, TY!
I had watched few of the videos of the Bairds but haven't seen them in couple of years. Couldn't remember the nsme, and they hadn't came up on my screen. So was surprised when i saw them on your channel!! They've had another little one too since id seen them last! Wesley wasn't very old last i saw.
I believe the metal trim you put over the bottom of the metal roofing should be underneath the roofing, otherwise the rain and leaves will run down and damage the wood.
4/28/24 - Good Sunday morn. from Chas.,SC where temps are in the 80's & lows in the 60's! Enjoyed this video a lot. Will y'all be spending the whole summer thare at the cabin? The old cabin came to life after that painting Carol gave it! What a wonderful Family!!
Carol, just watching this again. I ha be a great ideas for the stump that would be so pretty back there, remenber my doing this. She found an old white enamel foot tub sitting in the garage .she had my dad drill holes in the bottom and planted it full of impatiens. It. Looked adorable in the wood by the river. Just a thought??
Nice that you shared your time with Jim, Tori and their kids. Very dark coming across the lake at night. What were you using to start the cone flowers and lavender? What were you putting the seeds into in the box?
Those sub titles are hilarious. Does RUclips do that? We've got the chainsaw and the title is 'music." lol Jim Baird became Jim Barret. It's like this on every channel so I assume it's RUclips.
We posted two videos today. Here is the full chat with Jim and Tori Baird: ruclips.net/video/4lySTBQ-a8E/видео.html

Yes, we so appreciate the workmanship of our ancestors. Hope that those skills don’t get lost.
I love watching Jim on his solo trips and the family trips too!!! They’re great. Kudos to Tory.

My two favourite families on youtube together for a chat was so much fun to watch. Best wishes!

Amazing Transformation!
Awesome find there, Carol!!!
Awesome video as always EFRT. I was looking forward to watching y’all’s videos whether it’s y’all’s Cabin series or y’all’s overlanding adventures.
Awesome. Thanks

Wow great job on that cabin looks amazing. Love the Baird family 😊. Blessed Sunday all
Big Fan of Both the Channels. Gotta say again great Calab.
Thank you.
great job with your cool room
I remember watching a vlog when they got up & their canoe had disappeared down the water. Somebody found it thank goodness. Very stressful for them
I believe the metal trim you put over the bottom of the metal roofing should be underneath the roofing, otherwise the rain and leaves will run down and damage the wood.
Thanks for the tip will look into that.

Dan will be here all summer. Carol and I are planning a few overland trips and so is Pete.
Thanks!
Thank you!!
HEY! Good morning EFRT and thumbs UP !!!
Super build, well done you all.
Thank you kindly
Inspiring
Love your videos, thanks for doing them!!
You're welcome. Glad you like them!
great video thanks for sharing😆
Nice job
Carol, just watching this again. I ha be a great ideas for the stump that would be so pretty back there, remenber my doing this. She found an old white enamel foot tub sitting in the garage .she had my dad drill holes in the bottom and planted it full of impatiens.
It. Looked adorable in the wood by the river.
Just a thought??
Such a beautiful idea. It would look so pretty in that spot. I’ll keep my eyes open for a used one. Thank you 😊
That is awesome. Great job you guys!
Yeaaaaaah I love Jim and Tori! Good JOB
Looks amazing!!! Bravo 👏
Thank you!
Nice that you shared your time with Jim, Tori and their kids. Very dark coming across the lake at night. What were you using to start the cone flowers and lavender? What were you putting the seeds into in the box?
those are seed starter kits. The soil puffs up when watered.
I thought Dan was going to redo that building and use it for something? Change of plans I guess! It will be great.
Dan is restoring a different cabin. It’s bigger and unfortunately a little more rundown. It will definitely be a big project. 👍🏻
what kind of coffee do you drink i have not seen someone paint that fast lol
lol high octane coffee
Just a question, not a criticism. Why didn't you angle the door to match the opening?
We plan to fix the door frame eventually and straighten it out.
@@EFRT Oh, I thought it was left like that for aesthetics. 😄
Those sub titles are hilarious. Does RUclips do that? We've got the chainsaw and the title is 'music." lol Jim Baird became Jim Barret. It's like this on every channel so I assume it's RUclips.
Yes they are transcribed by RUclips. Not too accurately it appears :)
have I seen Jim hanging out with the Budnick Boys?
Yes they are good friends 👍🏻
@@EFRT We love all y'all!
Thank you 😊
Little metal cap on vent roof ???
Got it.
Why paint the cellar? Why not a good natural stain with linseed oil and preserve the natural wood color while protecting the wood at the same time
We painted it brown with red steel roof to match most of the other cabins on the island.
✌️❤️👌
😍😍👍👍👍👍
👍
I used to watch his videos but they were so long…
Yes some of them are full documentary style vids. Epic adventurtes for sure.
💪👋👍🫶😍
Crack On!
