I have fiber modem at home which is ZTE wifi6 modem. I want to connect the 3625-t50b to it wirelessly and from there, I want to spread the wireless broadcast from the modem in order to expand the wifi network. The 3625 has the latest firmware installed. After marking it as repeater option in the wireless operation menu, the device restarted and I pressed the onboarding button. In the meantime, I pressed the wps button of the fiber ZTE modem. Both devices saw each other. Connected. So the internet on ZTE came to 3625 wirelessly. I used the internet when I connected the 3625 to the pc via cable.IT’s ok. 3625 did not turn on wireless broadcast after doing all these operations. I mean as wireless repeater 3625 just transferred the internet as wireless from ZTE and transferred to the PC via wired. I went to 3625's interface again, looked and wifi options were off. I made It ON. But then the repeater feature disappeared, even though I enabled the wireless option, it was not visible when I looked at the wireless networks from my pc. At the end of the job, all the lights went out except the top left power light on 3625 and I reset it. In short, I have come so far. Anyone have experience and success with this issue? I don’t want to go and pay for a wireless repeater 😊

Hi Riaan, basically it is for network internal use only. If you really want to share the drive to the internet, you need to apply a firewall rule and a port on which users from your WAN IP can reach the drive. Because this WAN IP may change, you should use a Dyn-DNS service. A cloud drive with which you may share the data on your harddisk is more secure and also gives you a backup option. Please check for Drop Box or any other services that offer cloud based storage. You can use a NAS, which offers this service more comfortable to share data than simply the USB host of your IAD.
Hi, this model has cellular backup function with Check Cycle and Consecutive Fail settigs for usb dongle connection. So is it possible to set such parameters for adsl connection if I want to use it as a backup and a WAN connection as a main one? By default it takes approximately 75 seconds to switch, too long.
Dear a man, the WAN Backup by LTE is setup with a ping check on the xDSL WAN and if the timeout is 3x 10 Seconds the LTE WAN is activated. If you require faster or permanent backup, you should consider to use a security gateway with two WAN ports that can be configured as fall over WAN.

There is an inofficial way if you disable routing and DHCP on one device and then connect it by LAN to LAN port with a cable. There are many devices that can reeat and extend your wireless on a better way. Multy series and the new WiFi 6 AP NWA50AX for instance can do much better and faster. Please consider to us a repeater rather than doing the back2back configuration.

This is probably the issue: your camera is not able to connect to the N-WLAN of the router. But without knowing any model details is just a guess. Try a firmware update of your camera and check the ports and security settings that the camera needs

Hey, user name is mainly "admin" and PW is on the backside written. if not it is always "1234" in factory mode. If this does not work you may have a SP device that does not allow login or you don't have the corrent PW and need to reset the device to get back to factory default. Then you need to set up the device again. 😔

@@Maninthesky19 I believe that both devices have equal functions and you need to choose one of the devices. The VoIP needs to be configured in both devices, if the VMG8623 came from your provider, it may be configured already and does not need a twist. Then you can let the device switch to bridge mode by your ISP and then use the Fritzbox connected by a LAN port as router.

Hi Jerome, the firmware update will be initiated by your provider or you can check for newer versions inside the GUI of the device under maintenance. Please ensure the version has the same letter combination in round brackets ex. (ABPN.x) You can connect to software VPN systems with the clients that are connected to the IAD, but it is not possible to have a solid configured connection between the IAD and the NordVPN system. The connection must be established by the client.

Also the customer expect a reasonable (low) price. Any special function like the VPN connectivity of the device means a limitation or additional configuration, test and compatibility. So we keep the security level of the device to major functions. If you need higher security to protect your business date, we suggest you to take a look to our firewall series. Special the Zywall USG FLEX series. They can handle any requirement for security of a modern network.

Hi, the router comes from a provider in case you are not able to log in. This means you need to accept the settings and configuration as long as you use the device with your current broadband contract. If the device is set to "Bride" there is no website to log in and the device must be set back to normal router modus by long reset >12 seconds.
i can't enable Qos in my router vmg3625-t50b downstream and upstream not appearing and appear this message (If Upstream Traffic Priority is selected, 4 level strict priority QoS will be applied automatically according to the selected criteria. In this mode, user manually defined QoS will not be applied until Auto-Priority Mapping is disabled.)
Hi, the QOS is a sensitive setting, because the traffic for Phone and possibly can also affect IP-TV settings if they are provided from your Internet Provider. Please check, if these settings affect some of their services. Also these can be blocked by your provider in your device. For the rest the message says everything: you can let the upstream traffic prioritize by four preferred criteria or you switch off this automatic function and then your manual QOS goes in. Please check the user manual for this settings.
Dear Jeneshri, make sure the device voltage and ampere values of the secondary power connection meets exactly the value of the power bank. If they have not equal value the device can be damaged. You may need to manufacture a cable that connects both by hand. The operation by battery is not supported, as we suggest to use the standard mains power network.

In the picture of the application of the VMG3625-T50B device in its documentation, the connection to the STB is Ethernet, so it is not really clear to me whether it is even possible to wirelessly connect the VMG3625-T50B and the STB (or the TV directly). Does the device need to be specially configured for wireless connection?
@@navirolok2574 of course a LAN connection is stable and relieves the WLAN from stronger trafic if you stream TV on WLAN. Possibly the other clients may face performance issues. So if there is an option to connect the LAN by wire, then you should choose this option primary. The TV and STB device must connect with their internal WLAN client to the SSID of the VMG3625-T50B

Hi Orashio, this depends on the device. If you use the generic version, please check our support portal. If the device is given by your internet provider you need to ask them for the update. This simple devices do not need an update so frequent, so don't expect too much update options.

Hi I just got a new modem this week. It seems to have a strange problem that has happened a few times since i got it. My device says internet not available then when I go to the Wi-Fi settings it's only showing me the 2.4 gigahertz Channel when I look at the modem it's showing me both channels are green light I don't even turn off the modem and turn it back on I just wait a few minutes and usually my device will reconnect to the 5 gigahertz Channel I only have a few devices on the channel any idea why it would be doing this the device I'm using for the internet is pretty new never had this happen before
Dear @The Foreigner, the 5GHz WiFi can be influenced by military operation using the channels of the WiFi for their application. The device need to check if the channels are available and free, while doing this the 5GHz may be not working or slow working. Check if you can place the device on a different location. If the problems remain and you have no such military facilities / embassy / space research in your area, please let the reseller check the device and possibly swap it.

Hello from Ally, the device can be customized from your provider and have a unified login as default or it is a generic device, where the login is stated in the quick start user guide. The SSID that the device send out is visible in your devices. If you can't find any WLAN credentials, you need to login to the device and change them. Remember to reset your device if you get no access and start with the standard value again to configure the device.

Hi Wade, this is simple. Just use the plugs and screws that come with the device and the oval holes on the top rear side to fix it on the wall. Make sure to use the stand of the device so the cables have space in the ports.
Hello Morris, Globe LED "red" means your credentials towards the provider or the encapsulation are not correct set to the device. You should have a letter from your provider that exactly tells the encapsulation (ex. PPPoE) and the user name and password for your access.
Hi Amir, when you update the generic firmware the access to the device is written on the backside label. If necessary do a factory reset by using the reset button and push it with a pin for >12 seconds. If you updated a service provider firmware, the user name and password can be set by the provider to avoid customers to manipulate the device settings. In this case you need to check with the source, from where you got the firmware.
Hello Jack, TKIP is totally outdated and not save anymore. You need to use an actual and fast WLAN client that can connect to the WLAN using AES security key.

They give you VLANs but neglect to allow you to set PVIDs for each port. They still use JSON for configuration (LUA has been out for decades guys) and WORST of all, absolutely the worst, they STILL use Broadcom chipsets (Absolutely the worst scumbag anti open-source company ever).

Using a specific chipset means you can use the already developed firmware and functions again in a new device. Zyxel offers other routers that are powerful of speed and VPN / WLAN have the latest technology. This segment is made for entry level IAD and usable in all areas that use same xDSL annexes and profile. The same rule for all technical things also apply here: you want more - you pay more. Hi Mojalefa, if you received the device from your internet provider this can be blocked by them to avoid users from changing configuration. If you got the device in the market, please push the reset button with a pin for >12 seconds and wait until all LED light up once. Then the credentials from the backlabel are valid again. If the device has no such credentials it is a customized device for an internet provider. So then no chance to change it.
I have the Zyxel EMG3525-T50B - it physically looks very similar and the configuration interface looks the same too. Is there any functional difference? My Zyxel recently just suddenly stopped forwarding requests on all my ports - didn't change anything. The only port that still gets forwarded is my SQL Server 1433 port. Really weird.

Hi, You mean there is no gray port on the device or ther was not a gray cable included? The cable is available in every shop that sells telephone accessory. If the device does not have a gray port it is not the VMG3625-Series, but an EX... something. Please check.
Dont buy that modem. İt has red light problem. And it never fixing. When everything is normal but suddenly ethernet light turns red when you restart the modem.
Please check how you restart the modem, because it needs a few seconds for flushing the IP configuration. Depending on what setting is on the port and the connected device, you should wait for 20 seconds wen the device is powered down, then count from 20 to 40 and power it up again. If the issue stays, let our support know.
Please check with your internet provider company, if they deliver the internet with a VLAN setting. As example the German Telekom delivers Internet on VLAN 7, Entertain on VLAN 8. If the interface setting is not correct, there is not traffic coming from the internet to your home network. Check the user manual how to set the VLAN tag or get in contact with us @support.zyxel.eu
Hi Manu0987, this may happen if you are in territory where the WiFi channels are occupied by other access-points or military base. In this case you may face the same issue with any WLAN device. If it is only this specific device that shows the issue, please get in contact with your provider or reseller to get warranty service. You should place the device in an open indoor space as shown in the video to get the best result and WLAN coverage.
my new Zyxel VMG3625-T50B router doesn't work as intended for some reason the the dsl and internet led lights dont light up and if it does the dsl just flashes for a bit and then stops completely but the old router works perfectly fine but it has bad wifi range that's why i got a new one can you explain to me how i can fix this issue

This could have two issue; you used the wrong encryption (PPP, PPPoe, PPTP,...) and/or username and password. The other option is that the provider shut down the line or your account is not activated. In both cases you get help from your provider.

Hey, user name is mainly "admin" and PW is on the backside written. if not it is always "1234" in factory mode. If this does not work you may have a SP device that does not allow login or you don't have the corrent PW and need to reset the device to get back to factory default. Then you need to set up the device again. 😔

@@Maninthesky19 I believe that both devices have equal functions and you need to choose one of the devices. The VoIP needs to be configured in both devices, if the VMG8623 came from your provider, it may be configured already and does not need a twist. Then you can let the device switch to bridge mode by your ISP and then use the Fritzbox connected by a LAN port as router.

Hi Jerome, the firmware update will be initiated by your provider or you can check for newer versions inside the GUI of the device under maintenance. Please ensure the version has the same letter combination in round brackets ex. (ABPN.x)
You can connect to software VPN systems with the clients that are connected to the IAD, but it is not possible to have a solid configured connection between the IAD and the NordVPN system. The connection must be established by the client.

Hi, the router comes from a provider in case you are not able to log in. This means you need to accept the settings and configuration as long as you use the device with your current broadband contract. If the device is set to "Bride" there is no website to log in and the device must be set back to normal router modus by long reset >12 seconds.

In this mode, user manually defined QoS will not be applied until Auto-Priority Mapping is disabled.)
Hi, the QOS is a sensitive setting, because the traffic for Phone and possibly can also affect IP-TV settings if they are provided from your Internet Provider. Please check, if these settings affect some of their services. Also these can be blocked by your provider in your device. For the rest the message says everything: you can let the upstream traffic prioritize by four preferred criteria or you switch off this automatic function and then your manual QOS goes in. Please check the user manual for this settings.

Hi Rosna, please check if there is a Military or Government facility in your area, who may block the channels of the 5 GHz WiFi. If not the device may have an issue and need warranty check and service.

This depends on your TV / Stet-Top-Box, but if you have the same SSID for both WLAN, the device will choose the best connection itself.

@@navirolok2574 of course a LAN connection is stable and relieves the WLAN from stronger trafic if you stream TV on WLAN. Possibly the other clients may face performance issues. So if there is an option to connect the LAN by wire, then you should choose this option primary. The TV and STB device must connect with their internal WLAN client to the SSID of the VMG3625-T50B

Hi I just got a new modem this week. It seems to have a strange problem that has happened a few times since i got it. My device says internet not available then when I go to the Wi-Fi settings it's only showing me the 2.4 gigahertz Channel when I look at the modem it's showing me both channels are green light I don't even turn off the modem and turn it back on I just wait a few minutes and usually my device will reconnect to the 5 gigahertz Channel I only have a few devices on the channel any idea why it would be doing this the device I'm using for the internet is pretty new never had this happen before
Dear @The Foreigner, the 5GHz WiFi can be influenced by military operation using the channels of the WiFi for their application. The device need to check if the channels are available and free, while doing this the 5GHz may be not working or slow working. Check if you can place the device on a different location. If the problems remain and you have no such military facilities / embassy / space research in your area, please let the reseller check the device and possibly swap it.

Hello from Ally, the device can be customized from your provider and have a unified login as default or it is a generic device, where the login is stated in the quick start user guide. The SSID that the device send out is visible in your devices. If you can't find any WLAN credentials, you need to login to the device and change them. Remember to reset your device if you get no access and start with the standard value again to configure the device.

Hi Wade, this is simple. Just use the plugs and screws that come with the device and the oval holes on the top rear side to fix it on the wall. Make sure to use the stand of the device so the cables have space in the ports.

Hello Morris, Globe LED "red" means your credentials towards the provider or the encapsulation are not correct set to the device. You should have a letter from your provider that exactly tells the encapsulation (ex. PPPoE) and the user name and password for your access.

Hi Amir, when you update the generic firmware the access to the device is written on the backside label. If necessary do a factory reset by using the reset button and push it with a pin for >12 seconds. If you updated a service provider firmware, the user name and password can be set by the provider to avoid customers to manipulate the device settings. In this case you need to check with the source, from where you got the firmware.
For some reason I can't enable TKIP, it's only AES. One of my devices need it to connect but it's not there.
Hello Jack, TKIP is totally outdated and not save anymore. You need to use an actual and fast WLAN client that can connect to the WLAN using AES security key.

They give you VLANs but neglect to allow you to set PVIDs for each port. They still use JSON for configuration (LUA has been out for decades guys) and WORST of all, absolutely the worst, they STILL use Broadcom chipsets (Absolutely the worst scumbag anti open-source company ever).

Using a specific chipset means you can use the already developed firmware and functions again in a new device. Zyxel offers other routers that are powerful of speed and VPN / WLAN have the latest technology. This segment is made for entry level IAD and usable in all areas that use same xDSL annexes and profile. The same rule for all technical things also apply here: you want more - you pay more. Hi Mojalefa, if you received the device from your internet provider this can be blocked by them to avoid users from changing configuration. If you got the device in the market, please push the reset button with a pin for >12 seconds and wait until all LED light up once. Then the credentials from the backlabel are valid again. If the device has no such credentials it is a customized device for an internet provider. So then no chance to change it.
I have the Zyxel EMG3525-T50B - it physically looks very similar and the configuration interface looks the same too. Is there any functional difference?
My Zyxel recently just suddenly stopped forwarding requests on all my ports - didn't change anything. The only port that still gets forwarded is my SQL Server 1433 port. Really weird.

@@ZyxelSupportCampus hi i managed to figure out this issue. it wasnt that my service provider was blocking any ports - i was experiencing something called "hairpinning" (or NAT Loopback). which was a silly error on my part.

Hi, You mean there is no gray port on the device or ther was not a gray cable included? The cable is available in every shop that sells telephone accessory. If the device does not have a gray port it is not the VMG3625-Series, but an EX... something. Please check.
Dont buy that modem. İt has red light problem. And it never fixing. When everything is normal but suddenly ethernet light turns red when you restart the modem.
Please check how you restart the modem, because it needs a few seconds for flushing the IP configuration. Depending on what setting is on the port and the connected device, you should wait for 20 seconds wen the device is powered down, then count from 20 to 40 and power it up again. If the issue stays, let our support know.

Please check with your internet provider company, if they deliver the internet with a VLAN setting. As example the German Telekom delivers Internet on VLAN 7, Entertain on VLAN 8. This router is garbage. Wifi coverage is so poor, If im only a few feet away the signal bars drop to almost nothing, rubbish.
Hi Manu0987, this may happen if you are in territory where the WiFi channels are occupied by other access-points or military base. In this case you may face the same issue with any WLAN device. If it is only this specific device that shows the issue, please get in contact with your provider or reseller to get warranty service. You should place the device in an open indoor space as shown in the video to get the best result and WLAN coverage.

my new Zyxel VMG3625-T50B router doesn't work as intended for some reason the the dsl and internet led lights dont light up and if it does the dsl just flashes for a bit and then stops completely but the old router works perfectly fine but it has bad wifi range that's why i got a new one can you explain to me how i can fix this issue

This could have two issue; you used the wrong encryption (PPP, PPPoe, PPTP,...) and/or username and password. The other option is that the provider shut down the line or your account is not activated. In both cases you get help from your provider.
