Max, it's been five years since you recorded this, but I just found your music via Spotify and am so haunted by its beauty. The string arrangement on this track is timeless and achingly elegant.
Maybe it's because I'm older and have experienced a lot of love and loss, but "the price I'll have to pay" hits like a stone and brings all my past joys and pain rushing back to the light again -- all the memories are fresh, as if they'd just happened. You tapped a reminder for me that all of this is universal and it's terrifying and reassuring, like it's always been. In my case, I'm sitting at the end of the night in a quiet restaurant, alone, the end of a relationship hanging in the air like the lingering smoke of an extinguished fire, and all I can do is watch the world continue around me while I sit paralyzed. Again.
I'm searching out more of your work. Thank you for your music.
