I do question your method a bit, grabbing them by their legs like that risked harming them. However, something that appears to have been lost on a few of the commenters here: they are clearly the offspring of a domestic rabbit, likely a mother rabbit dumped into the wild by some callous person. Healthy though they may look, they would surely have died out there since they're not camoflagued nor do they have all of the instincts wild rabbits do, and they are also larger and heavier than wild rabbits, which means they can't run as fast as their wild cousins. Easy pickings for any predator looking for a fast meal - proved, as you said in reply to other comments, since cats were lurking around waiting to pick them off. Ultimately, what you did was kinder than leaving them be. I hope you managed to find the mother too.

These are domestic rabbits. they can not run as fast, they cant even really eat the food outside its not how they were bred theyre a completely different species. It's likely if the mother was not found that she is no longer alive as she would be the biggest and easiest for a predator to spot and catch.

I say yes but these aren't wild rabbits because the body colors are domesticated rabbit colors. Wild rabbits started out with more a brown color for better camouflage which if you know basic biology some species of wild rabbits will only change white colors during Winter but it's not Winter so you have birth defect which is too rare to have 3 white wild rabbits or the other main reason is that one of their parents is a domesticated rabbit that somehow escaped in the wild.

Also, wild rabbits are usually greyish brown, but domesticated ones have different colors and are rather tame and less shy than wild ones since it takes time for domesticated ones in the wild to get used to humans, especially when compared to wild rabbits as wild rabbits, on the other hand, are not only extremely shy as they're not used to humans at all, but also, they're wild animals that belong to wildlife environments like parks, open spaces, and neighborhoods, etc. as those are their homes.
After the mother gives birth I catch her & her bunnies & put them in a safe place , away from street dogs & cats, because if I don't, they will be eaten by either dogs or cats.

These are quite clearly domesticated rabbit offspring and leaving them there would have been the act of cruelty - domesticated rabbits don't have the same instincts as wild rabbits, and their fur colour makes them easy prey for any predator that comes by. You and me both because I like when rabbits are rather tame compared to wild rabbits and I also like how rabbits have different colors and even when they're very tiny as that's how much I so want to pick them up and hold them, even be approached and surrounded by a crowd of rabbits. That's how entertaining they really are.

As much digging as you had to do to get to them, these rabbits were perfectly safe and happy in their little burrow. I get that you were probably moving them from somewhere problematic, to somewhere less problematic, but please do not call an eviction a rescue, sir. "Rescue" implies they were in danger, and you saved them from it.

I feel like though this was kinda needed because wild rabbits are NOT white nor have that kind of orange ish color. These baby rabbits came from a domesticated mama rabbit that was probably dumped in the wild by someone. Hopefully this person did give these rabbits a nice home. These clearly aren’t wild

These are quite clearly domesticated rabbit offspring and leaving them there would have been the act of cruelty - domesticated rabbits don't have the same instincts as wild rabbits, and their fur colour makes them easy prey for any predator that comes by. Left to their own devices, they would be killed quite quickly. Hopefully the mother was found as well.

@@nepu3464Sure, sure. But I wasn't saying what this guy did wasn't needed, just that it wasn't a rescue. Having established themselves a little burrow near enough to humans that predators would be hesitant to come near, they were as safe as non-domesticated animals can get, and nice and cozy. So, again, this really wasn't a rescue, just moving them to somewhere better.

Same here! You and me both because I like when rabbits are rather tame compared to wild rabbits and I also like how rabbits have different colors and even when they're very tiny as that's how much I so want to pick them up and hold them, even be approached and surrounded by a crowd of rabbits. That's how entertaining they really are.

I believe it looks like they are domestic rabbits did to their colouring....hares are usually a brown colour so they probably threw domestic rabbits outside to breed..Well that's what I think anyway
