Wow, sounds like Yahweh. The sun his right eye to see during the day, the moon, his left eye to see at night. Breathtakingly beautiful. I wish I had learned African history.
This indicates that we all serve the same Supreme Being.

This is an over simplification. Nyame is wayyy more complex than this.
Onyame is thought to have female energies and linked to the moon, whilst Onyankopon has male energies and associated with the Sun - they are linked into one being by the spirit Odomankoma. I can't help but feel a lot of "modern" patriarchal ideas have been weaved into the storytelling of this video.

1. Nyame - Feminine divine (Moon)

He not head god. He is God the supreme. He is omnipotent, omniscient, all seeing, yet invisible, incomparable, creator. He is indescribable. Maybe you guys have other Nyame you are talking about. But to Ashantis, they are reffering to the true creator of the universe.

It’s Akans not Ashanti but don’t forget that people do not know that Akan is for many but not only Ashanti and that need to be corrected because this is culture and nobody should change it since we pass our culture on,I think people should be corrected otherwise other part of Akans will completely disappear and even in Ghanaians themselves when they talk about Akans they talk about all not only Ashantis.please is not about being jealous is about who the people are.
Infact truly speaking Ashanti's are a collection of other ethnic groups (Dagomba's,Bana,Ewe's,Nzema etc) who joined forces with the Oyoko's the wealthiest amongst the Akans . I'm from the Royal families of Bantama and Adum so I know my history......

What's wrong with this video, only Ashanti she mentioned, no she should not say Ashanti's but Akan. Who are the Akan's Ashanti represents the Akan's wether you like it or not that's the fact, if put the Akyem's, bono's nfante's , Akuapem's , Akwamu's, kwahu's together still the Ashanti's are the majorities in Ghana. serve individual abosom and act as mediators between

The concept of Onyame as known in Akan is the same across all African knowledge about the universe; our ancestors understood that Onyame or the perverted form ‘god’ is NOT a being but the life-force hence the universe. Also, mind you Onyame is not the same as what europeans call god, jesus, allah, shiva, buddha, mohammed and their cohorts.
When Europeans got to Africa, Africans had knowledge of Onyame as in the case of the Akans in ghana. The europeans then told them, Onyame is the same as jesus in the case of christians and allah in the case of muslims which were truly FALSE. Religion makes one call on too many things ignorantly at the same which later cause problems for the individual.
Also, Onyame/olodumare of nigeria/ mawu etc concept is more of clan/family/individualistic based because our ancestors both in Kemet before their dispersion and other Africans before colonization understood that RELIGION is crowd-control hence the saying in Akan, “obi nkyere akwadaa nyame” to wit “ No one teaches the child about god”. They believed that all that exist in nature was Onyame, GOOD or BAD and the child would definitely experience it by the child him/herself.
With the Akan concept of the after-life, as exists in almost all African traditional systems, you dont escape this life to be with a sky-dwelling white jesus, mohammed, allah etc, you rather REINCARNATE; and that is one reason the gye nyame symbol is shaped as it is. It represents an All come, All go, and all come again; thus, life is infinite and cyclical.
