    Out of every mod that you have made for the i-fast, the light diffusers are my favorite. They make the inside of the machine look much nicer. Getting my i-fast next week. 😀

      Yeah, thanks ! they were fun to design. I was surprised at how well they fit on the first go. That's awesome! Even I'm looking forward to you getting one!

    Glad you got them made. I have been waiting for them. I have several spools of ASA I am trying to use I will use that for the brackets. I am going to relocate my sensors. Now that the lift brackets are out I will do that too. The other sensor housing you remixed are just about exact size as the oem now. Thanks for that. Any chance you posting the lift device for the lid. I think thats great.

      It's with the hinge files on cults 3d. Thanks for the feedback on the sensor casing. I appreciate that. For how simple the corner brackets are I wish I'd designed them before messing with aluminum. Lol

    @melioratewithnate  2 года назад

    I plan on altering the hinge design so it will print vertically and the not require pva or other supports. I'm not sure when but if you print it in tpu you much be able to do that already. Just a tip. You can also adjust your print settings to not support anything under a certain cm squared. I think 25-30 would stop it from trying to print pva between the letters on the back

      Bed temp 110
      Retract 2.1 @30 mm/sec
      Speed 70mm/sec
      Fan 0%
      My temp was 210 but this was a glow filament, you'll need to go a bit higher I'd say.
      Glue on the pei textured build plate

  • @melioratewithnate
    @melioratewithnate  2 года назад

    Print time on the corner brackets is about 3 hours, 4 line walls/bottom/top. 30% infill.
    If using tpu
    Try
    234 C Nozzle temp
    1.8mm retract at 30mm/sec
    Flow 100%
    Speed 70 mm/sec
    Bed temp: 50 C
    Print cooling: 100% after the first layer.

    Have you ever tried using a larger nozzle?

    Hey buddy. I've been printing only pla and some PETG but want to move to carbon fiber. Have you tried this filament?. Great work as usual.

    • @melioratewithnate
      @melioratewithnate  2 года назад

      I have. Keep your layer height above .22 or higher if you have issues with clogging. Maybe get some .05mm nozzles if you end up with issues. Other than that, buy purge filament, learn to do cold pulls and if you end up with issues your always welcome to come ask.
      Thanks for the pat on the back! I am pretty happy with the way this all turned out. Mods look great (to me at least) and the issues are solved. All while dialing in and testing some cool filaments :)

    Four diff brands of dried ABS and it will NOT stick down. Will the metal side of the flex bed survive Acetone ? For a slurry

    • @melioratewithnate
      @melioratewithnate  2 года назад

      So I've printed abs a few times and hadn't much issue other than with glow where the ceramic particles reduce the surface of abs that's sticking. I think my bed temp is pretty high for abs. I'd have to check but I think I went with 85 or 90. I even printed some for the review. I'll have to go check videos to see what plate I used but the black sticker plate and the textured surfaces both worked. The pei textured plate required a bit of glue stick. I'd use it with the sticker plate as well. Abs can stick like glue to that.
      I've used acetone based slurry a few times in the past. I don't think you'll need to go there. Feel free to post your print settings or send me an email with some pics of whats happening. Bed adhesion can be wrecked by so many things. But issues can be chased down with a bit of team troubleshooting

    I think I am going to attach pneumatic fittings to the lid so then I just push my ptfe tube in and keep my dry boxes in use

    • @melioratewithnate
      @melioratewithnate  2 года назад

      Ptfe tubes fit into the back of the remote sensor. No fitting needed. It's only about 1cm exposed. You can fees right from the dry box to the sensor box:)

      @@melioratewithnate oh thats great. Thats my next project with the lid mod. I been using this thing non stop. Had a few issues. Mainly slicer problems. I see they redid the slicer it seems better. Still hope they add paint on color changes

    • @melioratewithnate
      @melioratewithnate  2 года назад

      @Jim Nicholson I downloaded the new slicer. Normally it updates the current one, it does appear to be a whole new layout.
      There have consistently been notable improvements with each iteration of the software. I look forward to trying it out. Save your custom filament settings!! Write them down, etc. I had an update delete my first month's worth of testing/dialing in random filaments. Now I keep a journal with them in it. Back to the paper system here, in triplicate, jk.

      @@melioratewithnate Oh yeah you're 100% correct this is a totally new write of the software so it doesn't replace the old one it didn't bring any of the settings or profiles over I never deleted the other one it's still there so it is going to be a little bit of a pain to have to bring them all back but they are making headway they've asked me a few questions already about what I think needs to be corrected because I've been complaining about that slicer and the fact that they're tying it to their printer I don't like proprietary systems like that because when you have a number of different manufacturers products it just makes it a real pain if you can't use one piece of software for all of them
