That Trico didn't seem to care much at your revival. The developers said that each "Trico" you get will react differently according to how much you interract with it along the game. Well, in my case, I kept petting Trico and allowing him a rest quite often, so at this scene when he revived the boy, he started jumping up and down and waving his bum left and right (like a dog would wave its tail) he also presented me with his snout many times to pet it and snuggle. It was so cute... I love my Trico.
PouresMaggie Tricos attitude towards the boy doesn't change depending on how much you pet him, scold him etc. The cutscene where the boy is unconscious and Trico is trying to wake him up, the actions Trico makes are not scripted. They are all AI based. So due to his AI being so unpredictable in terms of idling animations, it can cause him to not jump with joy when the boy awakens. He _is_ suppose to jump about when the boy wakes up, but for some players he won't because of how random his AI is. For some people, he may be triggered to scratch his ear instead, or he might get distracted and look at some doves flying around. If this scene was scripted, everyones Trico would jump with joy. But because this short scene depends on his AI entirely, it doesn't always end with him doing what he's suppose to, resulting in a somewhat underwhelming revival scene if Trico acts like he doesn't care. Trico does become more affectionate as the game progresses. You'll see him reach down to the Boys level more often wanting to be petted, but this happens to everyone. The way you treat Trico doesn't affect his love meter towards the Boy.

@@anonymousmoose8037 Confirmo, después de descubrir ese dato e logrado que Trico que me haga caso en varias órdenes, al ser un animal hecho por la IA debe de estar programado para aumentar buenas conductas mediante el trato que le demos igual con las veces que lo alimentamos, se le da una recompensa para que me obedezca. Ya e aprendido varias formas de tratarlo y como funcionan los comandos en los controles.

I came here cuz I've just beaten the game twice and I need someone to talk to about it lol (my friends are only like halfway done)
***spoiler alert...although if you're watching this, you obviously don't care about spoilers***
Anyway, what I gathered is that the Master of the Valley is that same source of Power from the previous games (The Queen and Dormin). Probably more so The Queen from Ico. When all the other Tricos roll up, they deliver other children that they've taken from their nearby villages. So just like in Ico, this location requires these chosen few to keep the power going. In the Nest, the statues are employed as security and to keep things in order while the Tricos are controlled to do the Master of the Valley's evil bidding. Our Trico broke free from that control by being around us, but most importantly because of the removal of its mask. I say this because when Trico takes off at the very end, there is another Trico seen climbing a pillar (most likely the one who trapped us in that damn cage elevator) who doesn't have its mask on either. All the other Tricos are falling off while that one seemed fine. There's probably more I could say about the game, but I feel like this becoming long winded. Overall, I just wanted to say that I love this game and do yourself a favor and play Ico & Shadow of The Colossus if you haven't yet. And a round of a f***ing applause to Trico for taking the beating that he did and STILL making it out of the nest back to the kid's village lol. Y'all have fun ✌️️&❤️
Also, I might have been high when I was talking about the masks lol. Just needed some kind of reasoning as to why Trico wasn't as under control of the castle as the other ones were. Might be just cuz that's all they knew
Actually, if I'm not mistaken, the scene where that other Trico (which is the same one we saw in the ending looking up at our Trico flying out of the valley/Nest area) is fighting our Trico, once its mask gets knocked off it immediately stopped fighting/attacking. EDIT: watch?v=fSQCuYxxtBI Found a video of it - looks like it could be a combination of both the mask and the horns.
i think since the orb use the horns (not the MASK) to control trico and the other and the only 2 we see having their horn break at some point is trico (it grow back after some barrels) and the one we figth and trown a giant thing on his head , making then imune in some level to the orb mind control and backslash once you destroy it. so only the 2 survive the destruction of the orb
The Sturdy Chair great explanation u r right about the master of the valley thou and your explanation. im on my 2nd playthru now i bought the collector's edition this game needs 2 go down in history. it is so different and emotional. and 2 add to this beautiful game is the soundtrack. ive never played anything like the last guardian in my gaming life. im glad sony did not give up on the last guardian. now i can finally rest in peace.

I wish to know simply about the anatomy. How to their wings grow? How do they store the people? What do their bones look like? How are they so durable? Honestly, there’s so many questions you can ask just about one creature; Trico
Alphia Well to answer three of your questions; on GenDesigns Twitter (or some other form of social media, I don't remember lol) there's actually a model of a Trico skeleton that they made near the end of development, so you can go check that out. Or if it's easier, type "Trico Skeleton" into Google. They were suppose to be added around the rim of The Nest along side the 32 Trico statues, but were cut due to time limitations. And why they're so durable is most likely because of the substance in the barrels. It's confirmed that the barrels do not contain humans, but instead the barrels are rewards that the Trico's get in return for bringing the humans back to The Nest. The substance in the barrels isn't stated, but Ueda refers to it as some sort of "energy." So whatever is in there must have some powerful healing properties. Hence why Trico heals so quickly and becomes fully energetic after a few barrels. And according to Ueda, when the Trico's take the people, they're swallowed and stored in some green substance that resembles a sac of some kind, which is shown when the Armoured Trico's regurgitate the people into the mouth of the bird like statue. This sac is also most likely what gives the people their strange markings, and it looks to be the same substance that flows through the Armoured Soldiers, which makes sense since whenever they grab you, the Boy will slowly have more tattoos start to appear on his body. Each time he's swallowed by Trico and kept in the green sac, he's covered in more tattoos too.

I guess these armoured green things used trico and the other to get them chosen people but at the way back to the tower Trico fell and he got free so he wasn't controlled anymore :/
If you look very closely, you'll notice that ends of Dark Trico's wings are missing as they were cut off the suits of armour to keep her from going back with the others so she can as some sort of a guard dog that protects the tower from invaders and why she doesn't follow Trico out of the valley after being freed from the tower's control despite displaying what appears to be concern from him as he flies by. Trico was probably going to be next in line before the boy frees him.

This is a part of the game where you let Trico eat you in one of those cages. You can't continue the game without letting him eat you. So if you skipped it you're a total idiot.

I've never played any of Fumito Ueda's games, I only know about them from videos and word of mouth. This may make no sense, but there tricos are like golems, man-made life, right? What if they're made from, or with, the horned boys from Ico.
As far as I know there's no connection between Ico and Shadow of the Colossus to The Last Guardian. As for Trico's kind he's clearly a creature and not a Golem since he can reproduce. It's likely that his kind were enslaved by the main antagonist of The Last Guardian, The Master of the Valley, since Trico actively avoids areas where the Master can control him and is aware of his enslavement.

If you watch carefully at the very last shot, you can see Trico's eyes glowing up when the light of the mirror reaches his cave, alongside him another set of eyes. It's fair to believe he returned and lived with a partner, apparently even having a baby Trico by this time and found happiness after all. That eases the pain a bit, even though I still find it sad that the boy and Trico had to part ways. :(
