Wonderful work! really inspiring A++! By the way and if possible, what lens do you use for keeping the image so sharp and in continuous focus while in the ronin, and also, how do you work with the moire in the 6D, i have 6D's and that really cracks my footage sometimes. Thanks!
Thanks. This was the 24-70mm 2.8 II on the Ronin. We have the Manfrotto sympla thumb controller that helps to pull focus. For wide shots on the 6d, we ust pull the focus a little closer until the aliasing goes away. We're now using the 1DC as our A camera. It's a better image all around but the absence of magic lantern really hurts!
+pixmajik neither! Marvels Cine with 0 contrast. It's like Prolost with a bump in the shadows. marvelsfilm.wordpress.com/marvels-cine-canon/ The colors don't look anything like this out of the camera though. This was a custom grade with 8 nodes in Resolve. I hope to have some presets available soon. -Matt
Amazing work as always!! I've always wondered what you do for your audio design, your audio sounds so unique in a sense... I'm curious, what kind of setup do you use for audio and what do you do with the audio in post?
+Tale Tell Films thanks. Audio plays such a huge part of a film and can be one of the toughest things to get right. Proper compression and EQ in post makes the biggest difference. We'll be sharing a blog post about it soon, but to get started play around with a compressor on your dialogue tracks. A ratio of 4:1 with an average reduction of -6db is a good starting point (the common advice to compress dialogue with a lower ratio only makes sense if there is no music track). Hope that helps. Be sure to sign up for the tutorials in the description.
+The Film Poets Thank you for the quick response!! I'll definitely try it out and see how it works! Signing up for the blog post now! Keep up the great job! We're from Kenya by the way!
What's the rolling shutter? And by the way I've noticed every film you guys place continuos light pointing to the dance floor, what's that lighting system?
+David Castellans I didn't notice any rolling shutter in this film, did you? The 6D is pretty decent when it comes to that. We use either dedolights or torchLED bolt 220r, which is awesome.
This is the second time I have a request for you Film poets.
PLS DO A BEHIND THE SCENE VIDEO.
As always great cinematography
Great Work as always! What is the name of the track used at 1:21 ? Please share. Thank you! :)

Do you guys recommend any specific tutorial on DR? You guys have some amazing grading! How did you learn?
for getting started you could check out color grading central. It's a nice breakdown of the basics.
Where did you get the music track at 4:49 and what's the name of it. Thank you!

Are you using cinestyle or prolost? Love the colors!

Sweet!
+The Film Poets Just wonder, do you compress in FXP or PP or in a dedicated audio program?
We use the built in compressor in FCPX. Premiere pro's compressor is adequate as well.
Such amazing work! Please share the name of the track used at 4:06, thank you!
That was Hovgard by Longlake from Musicbed.com
Thanks! Again, really inspiring work!
