I feel like this precon is reaally powerful, I really like how they gave us monarch support. I can't wait to see what decks the community comes up with for using Aragorn as the Giga-Monarch
Using this deck with Aragorn is so much more appealing I love eowyn and her super ramped up token placement but being the monarch feels more value in ganeplay
I upgraded my deck in a similar way. I added Rick, Goldbug, Thalia's lieutenant, more card draw, the horsemanship cards, more indestructible, more double strike. I will get breathe of fury soon. This deck is super fun. Also, Magus of the disk for repeatable one sided board wipes.
I think Cathar's crusade would be a monster. The 2 creatures would see eachother and give your whole board 2 plus 1 plus one counters. Also odric lunarch marshal would give your board first strike, trample, and haste.
Yeah, it's going to be reprinted soon in a universes within. It's a matter of when tbh. They are usually significantly cheaper than regular secret lairs like stranger things or street fighter
I haven't heard anyone mention him, isn't gandalf the white rider decent in this deck? Any spell you cast buffs your boards power and you get scry 1. I feel like thats pretty good in this deck lol
Hey man im brand new to Magic. Getting into it cause of these lord of the rings cards. Definitely wanting to play a deck with my favourites characters in (gandalf, boromir, eomer) and kind of be based around them. But no idea what im best off buying, booster box or commander deck despite it not having who i want. Sorry appreciate any help!
Hey great question! The best way to get cards is by either going to your local game store that sells magic as you can buy the single cards like gandalf, boromir or eomir that you want. This is going to be a highly opened set, and the single cards may be cheaper than buying packs to find the right cards. I like opening packs because it feels like christmas. But beware, it's pretty much gambling on getting a good card or not. Commander decks to start out with (especially these) are a great resource to start out with. And if you buy some boosters I've seen there is draft and set and collector no idea which to get if I'm playing commander... or if it matters. But from what you're saying getting the cards I want to build around I should buy separate and then rest get from packs?

If your going to focus on commander (I recommend that since it’s the most casual and common way to play) Then you can use any cars that isn’t on the commander van card list. (Very few cards are banned) so have at it and buy any set you like. I recommend getting the lotr cards you like. Commander format can use most cards in magic luckily! Have fun

Gimli was my first cut from this deck and he went straight into my Dihada deck. He fits much better there.

Magic cards are expensive for me but I'm definitely going to get this for Christmas and hopefully the price will drop.

This deck, functionally it's lore inappropriate because of the playstyle among other things but this deck is the one you want.
