thank you Adam for putting smiles on our faces. There's not much on RUclips that you can watch with every member of your family no matter what the age. My day is never complete until I get my afternoon Woo. You're awesome!! ☺☺☺
I have to say, after watching some of your old videos, this edited format is SO much better. You get so much more and different stuff than you would in the old form. AnyWOO, love your videos! :D
Sadly, they use to have a Shakey's Pizza here in Minnesota. I use to go there for birthdays when I was a kid, and it was that place that introduced me to video games (early 80s). My dad never gave me quarters to play the games, so I asked for a computer for Christmas so I could make my own. Never really made my own, but it launched my career as a software developer. Thank you Shakeys! All gone but not forgotten in Minnesota. Battle Zone at Shakey's!
Most likely that "catacomb tunnel" story is false. That detail was added to the rivers of America in 1992 when the whole waterfront was reconfigured to host audiences wanting to see Fantasmic. When they were building the new viewing area, they had to lower the ground level about four feet down to the water line. By doing that they created a lot of "negative" vertical space, and so instead of just having cobblestone walls along the walkway they decided to incorporate detail. New Orleans was known for having cobblestone sewers under the city, what that looks like to me is a foax detail about a sealed cobblestone sewer built in 1764. There are air vents closer to Cafe Orleans where A/C from main kitchen is filtered then vented out a the guests feet, those external vents are also disguised to look like old 19th century working sewer grates.
ultra gaze did you even read my comment? It's a foax detail I said was added in the year 1992 when they rebuilt the New Orleans Square waterfront to host the show Fantasmic. They incorperated the detail because New Orleans was known for having old cobblestone sewers.
Alexander Younies is correct. Reading through the last 5 volumes of Vault of Walt ( Jim Korkis - aka "Wade Samson", known Disney historian of verifiable information ) there was a mention of this faux entrance being a nod NOT to the Haunted Mansion but to the idea that Walt once planned on POTC being a walkthrough wax museum. According to the original blueprints, the exit would have brought people out a door at about this point so as they leave the first thing they would see was a body of water, and maybe the Columbia rounding the bend.
Adam, sharing another interesting coaster with LIM (Linear Induction Motor) similar to California Screamin'. Backlot Stunt Coaster is a high-speed stunt car adventure that combines Hollywood special effects with high tech coaster thrills. Guests board their very own tricked out MINI Cooper S for a multi-sensory stunt car adventure, and as the custom stunt car MINIs peel out, everyone is transported into the stunt chase sequence. Drivers twist through a parking garage, dodge near-collisions, race down stairs, chase through tunnels and narrowly escape massive explosions triggered by gunfire from a menacing helicopter. Tires skid out one last time as the stunt cars crash through a billboard and splash down into an L.A. aqueduct concluding the chase sequence. Backlot Stunt Coaster is a multiple LIM (linear induction motor) launch circuit coaster. Trains are propelled in the station with drive tires and in the launch and boost zones by linear induction motors. Linear induction motors are propulsion units that are used where either high thrust or high speed propulsion is needed. There are three separate launch zones on the Backlot Stunt Coaster. Cheers! :-)
Soak it all in Adam. Your going to miss this, but it will make it very special each time you make a trip back there. Kind of like when you make it back to WDW. Wow. Actually very jealous. Now that you will be mobile, you'll get that awesome feeling when you visit both coasts for the parks. Nice!
I wonder what stopped Walt from building that underground walkway to the Haunted Mansion? would've kept a lot of the visitors dry during the rainy days
I keep up with your videos everyday. Except for yesterday. WHY?! (You may be wondering.) Well, I gave birth to my second child by c-section. 😍 Caught up on yesterday and today's videos tonight while still at the hospital. Thank you for the much needed daily entertainment!
Great video, thank you. I have not been to Disneyland in over 10 years, now I have to wait for my grand daughter is old enough to go (she's now 22 months) Adam, I really enjoy your videos. Best wishes from Northern California.
Well, considering how many times the design plan was modified both before and during construction of The Haunted Mansion, it may very well have been part of the plan at one point to have a crypt leading you to the ride (The stretched portraits gallery elevator was a late addition in design according to Walt).
Thank you for all the live music shots, usually my favorite part of the DL vlogs! I play baritone sax, so it's always exciting to see DL's amazing bari player.
aw i really wish I could be in disneyland right now. lots of people ( not the person who made this haha) take it for granted and get to go all the time, they never realize how lucky they are to go somewhere so magical.
Adam--As an Imagineer. I would like to ask you what makes the Disney park so timeless and touching to others. It has obviously touched you as well as millions of others. Want to hear your take on it . Than I will share what we think it is from the inside of Imagineering.
Hi Adam, I've watched just about all your videos but this is my first comment, I'd just like to say that I think your videos are great and you're an awesome presenter. I'm a Brit so I'm fascinated by your Vlogs around America and after watching for so long I feel I know you. The drone videos are fantastic and will only serve to further enhance your already marvellous videos. Thanks a million for constantly entertaining me! Cheers! :)
That underground catacomb... hmmm who is to say there isn't one there! So many hidden things at Disneyland you will miss unless you really look and take your time. Even then is good to look some up online, so many we can miss. Glad you guys had fun.
disney worl has that little tunnel entrance also. i noticed one by the stage at the castle. ive heard there are several around and the cast could go from one place to another without being seen.
Ive hooked up with a girl at that spot back in 2002 when I was 18. Haunted mansion has a lot of good memories for me. Loved having a season pass to that place back in te day
Hey Adam love the content. I know this probably isn't relevant to you anymore but the shots with the Majestic over lake Irvine are amazing and that track is for Rc cars I race there alot for fun and fly Rc airplanes at the end of that road you parked on. Keep up the amazing work!
Dam this brings back the last memories of my mom before she passed away from cancer on 10/19/11. I was only 14. She told me and my brother that it was going to be are last time together as a family in Disneyland.
one of your best vlogs. extra filming of ride experiences, you're pretty good with the drone, funny with your friend. and at 6:10 I wonder how many times he's dropped his stick.
Adam, if you're getting rid of your Blu-Rays, get a external hardrive. AnyDvd, and you can rip them to the hard drive, watch them, 100% legal, if you need help setting it up ask.
There's a lot about this little archway. I love this story! Such fine attention to detail, is why I love the Disney parks. Eddie Sotto, an Imagineer who joined WDI (then WED) in 1986 had an idea to link the lands together, he left in 1999. The thought was that the lands would be linked together in a grand story or idea. This is archway is all that is left of that idea. In a book by Kevin Yee, co-authored with Jason Schults, '101 Things You Never Knew About Disneyland', this is #27. The canal in N.O. S. labeled 1764: "The plan called for a crypt next to the Mansion that would lead into an underground catacomb of treasure and dead pirates, culminating in a pirate-themed hideout in Tom Sawyers Island. The theme would have focused on Jean Laffite, from the early 1800's in New Orleans. Laffite's Landing is already noted in a sign in the POTC loading zone. (Son of Sam McKim, Matt McKim, stated that 1764 was derived by subtracting 200 years from the birth date of one imaginer who worked on the project) There once was a Laffite's Silver Shop in New Orleans Square, as well. At one time, they thought that Lafitte would be the original owner of the HM... How about the Laffite's Tavern? The entrance to this crypt secret passage "connecting" the Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion & Tom Sawyers Island would be a giant tomb entrance near the Haunted Mansion. From the book: "In subsequent conversations, both public and private, Sotto has vouched for the accuracy of Yee's report and supplied further details about this amazing project. The esplanade was redone in the early 90's in order to improve the area for Fantasmic! viewing (and whatever other shows might come along). Sotto had the cryptic archway put in at that time as a kind of "note to self" with regard to the Jean Lafitte project." twitter.com/boss_angeles/status/846899345739804672/photo/1 There are some awesome concept art sketches on this walk through attraction out there! So, the plan was scrapped (Paul Pressler said, "no") but the archway was put in during the rehab for Fantasmic as a decoration. It is still used in the fictional backstory of the Pirates, Mansion & Island, though. NOTE: the giant anchor added in to the area is also "Laffittes Anchor", it was moved from in front of the Golden Horseshoe and put closer to the Mansion. Anyone remember the old Tom Sawyers Island and the "Pirates Lair"?? How about the tableau in Fort Wilderness on Tom Sawyers Island of Andrew Jackson?? Do any history buffs out there know the connection of Laffite and Jackson?? :) After the fort was closed, they actually moved some of Andrew Jackson's items into the attic scene of the Haunted Mansion with Constance. Can you find his military jacket, boots and things in the bride scene? Maybe something to do if your doombuggy comes to a stop in the area, for a wheelchair rider. The official backstory of Gracey Manor provided for the HM movie says that it was built near the river so that the owner could use secret passages between the house, the crypts of the adjoining graveyard, and the nearby riverfront in order to carry on clandestine activities like smuggling with pirates. This "Legend of Gracey Manor" can be found at DB.com here: www.doombuggies.com/movie1.htm It can also be found (in a slightly abridged form) in the library of the virtual tour of Gracey Manor at the official HM movie website, which is still up. So it's an "official" Disney tale that combines the two attractions into one back story. Buena Vista pictures wrote an official backstory to go with the Haunted Mansion movie (2003), called "The Legend of Gracey Manor." There you can read about secret passages and tunnels connecting the house with both a graveyard crypt and the river front, useful for smuggling. This was all very handy since the builder of Gracey Manor had a "secret association with pirate Jean Laffite," and the Graceys could use the tunnels to hide, as they did, for example, during the War of 1812, when they hid from the British. And the backstory is still in the HauntedMansion Wiki: hauntedmansion.wikia.com/wiki/The_Legend_of_Gracey_Manor There's a ton of other crossovers and connections to Pirates/Mansion/TomSawyer. But I've written enough and taken too much time. LOL. If you stop to read things in the parks and really explore the smallest things, everything gets linked. There's very few posted "news articles" or signs that have no meaning. Maybe a correct movie of the Haunted Mansion, or the redo they are planning of the movie, could go back to this idea of smugglers, pirates and death.
Adam, could you do a side by side video from gate of both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom and show a walk thru and how they are different, some of us might never get to Disneyland and I would love to see how close they are to each other and what the differences are.
WOW I haven't seen a Shakey's in a long time. They used to have them in Minnesota years ago. Not sure about these days but it could have been a different restaurant. Never ate at one but they were all over the place in MN.
Shakey's! The last one in my home city of Tacoma burned down 25 years ago. There's one in Renton WA but I've heard bad things so never tried it. Gonna have to go to Cali for Shakey's.
we had 3 Shakeys in British Columbia when I was growing up.New Westminster,Vancouver, prince George but the closest one was just across the Border in Blaine Washington.Best Pizza ever!
I notice you didn't ride in the swinging gondolas, though, haha! You were all over the place with this one, Adam.....a little of everything...good stuff.
Which Shakey's was that? We used to have one here in Wisconsin, but it closed down a few years ago. When my family and I visited LA in 2014 we spotted a Shakey's and ate there, and it looks like it might be the same one you found.
Highly recommend you going to Temescal Canyon Gateway Park. It is beautiful, a lot of filming has been done there by different shows and movies and you can fly the drone there, getting a view of the Santa monica pier and Damn near the rest of L.A
I thought it's just a "ride detail"... I read a story that Little Leota/The old Sea Captian (who built the Mansion?) smuggled treasure in and out the Mansion with Pirates back in the day, haha totally geeking out now. CORRECT ME!?
Do you ever notice, when you take the old time car down Main st., how when the car honks.... people look irritated. Like "Why not walk, ya lazy bones"?
I realized 90% of the things I purchased in my life were worthless compared to experiences. I wish you good luck in creating experiences instead of accumulating material stuff. Good luck Adam.
They have tons of Shakeys in Japan, I actually thought they were only in Japan for the longest time. Is the California one an all you can eat buffet as well? Japanese one is 15 dollars for 90 mins, with an additional 10 dollar feel for all you can drink, beer included.
Liking the videos lately, I think that drone is really going to make your channel look kick ass. Any chance you are swinging by San Diego before you leave?
+Francine Scott LMAO! Probably did... I should pay attention when I watch RUclips videos.. I usually watch while I do things AHAHA... Regardless, it's a good name ...
....Very cool, what looks to be, 'Ghost Story' t-shirt. 'Ghost Story' is a very undervalued movie. Saw it when it came out as a kid and seen it several times since.
You are such a brave dude, really. Look how much you have grown. So nice that you know how to live and love yourself enough to adventure the way you do! I admire that :) Take care of you
The characters wouldn't be in public domain under the newer laws OR the older ones. The characters are trademarked, which is much different from copyright. Individual films featuring those characters might one day be public domain.
Thanks to all who watch my videos. Truly appreciate it
thank you Adam for putting smiles on our faces. There's not much on RUclips that you can watch with every member of your family no matter what the age.
My day is never complete until I get my afternoon Woo.
You're awesome!! ☺☺☺
Its becoming the morning Woo in FL these days!
We appreciate it too! I watch everyday. :)
We appreciate it too! I watch everyday. :)

why would anything Disneyland be built in 1764...lol it's not that old...and who could crawl through it?

That little boy looked at you thinking you was crazy. LOL.

I keep up with your videos everyday. Except for yesterday. WHY?! (You may be wondering.)
Well, I gave birth to my second child by c-section. 😍 Caught up on yesterday and today's videos tonight while still at the hospital.
Thank you for the much needed daily entertainment!
That's devotion, Jacqui! Hope your baby is soon enjoying Adam's vids too.
Bargain Holic Better believe it! My 4 year old daughter is a little Wooyouber too 😉.
Awesome, the family that woos together!
+Bargain Holic HAHA! YES! I love that! 👊
Hey, I love Adam's little corner of youtube he's just brings a fresh view of new and old things!
Adam…the aerial footage is getting better and better.
How about some beach drone/quad copter footage?? 👍🏼👍🏼
will do, in time..in time
Watch out for the wind....and the sand. Unhealthy combo for quads.
I just can't get over how beautiful the drone videos look.
Great video, thank you. I have not been to Disneyland in over 10 years, now I have to wait for my grand daughter is old enough to go (she's now 22 months) Adam, I really enjoy your videos. Best wishes from Northern California.

Wow, i'm at Disneyland a lot and i can't believe i have never noticed that tunnel...This is cool!! Thanks Adam for showing us!! Have a great day!!
Love your channel and can't wait to see more from your adventures Adam.
Thank you for all the live music shots, usually my favorite part of the DL vlogs! I play baritone sax, so it's always exciting to see DL's amazing bari player.
Not including the familiar socks/shoes opening, this has to be the best intro yet. The Disney vlogs are cool.
aw i really wish I could be in disneyland right now. lots of people ( not the person who made this haha) take it for granted and get to go all the time, they never realize how lucky they are to go somewhere so magical.
You must fly the drone in Sedona when you pass through AZ, would be super majestic!!
Growing up in Huntington Beach in the 60s, I remember that you could see the Matterhorn from the freeway. It was the tallest thing for miles.
You have done more in your 40+ years than most and it's only just begun. Continue to follow your dreams as we follow along with you
Adam... Don't forget to get your van checked out, tuned and lubed before you go.

They have Shakey's outside of California. I've been to the one in Alabama and their site says Washington and Hawaii have some as well..
Adam I bet you're gonna miss this place but I can only imagine the adrenaline you'll feel when you come back to Disney for the first time In a while
That underground catacomb... hmmm who is to say there isn't one there! So many hidden things at Disneyland you will miss unless you really look and take your time. Even then is good to look some up online, so many we can miss. Glad you guys had fun.

might have been the most epic intro yet, your energy level has been off the charts the last couple months! keep it up bro!
Awww sad that your moving out of California. I hope that you'll still be making more videos! I enjoy watching your channel !
Ive hooked up with a girl at that spot back in 2002 when I was 18. Haunted mansion has a lot of good memories for me. Loved having a season pass to that place back in te day
Beautiful shots from the Majestic, Adam.
Hey Adam love the content. I know this probably isn't relevant to you anymore but the shots with the Majestic over lake Irvine are amazing and that track is for Rc cars I race there alot for fun and fly Rc airplanes at the end of that road you parked on. Keep up the amazing work!

"The majestic, magical drone slash quadcopter" 😂😭 I love you woo. Lol I look forward to every majestic shot you pilot.
one of your best vlogs. extra filming of ride experiences, you're pretty good with the drone, funny with your friend.
and at 6:10 I wonder how many times he's dropped his stick.
Mickey's fun wheel looks scary because the cars are moving back-and-forth
The game rocking carts are optional
Adam, if you're getting rid of your Blu-Rays, get a external hardrive. AnyDvd, and you can rip them to the hard drive, watch them, 100% legal, if you need help setting it up ask.
Another great vid! As always, love all of your Disney footage. The shots with your drone was beautiful :)

There are some awesome concept art sketches on this walk through attraction out there!
After the fort was closed, they actually moved some of Andrew Jackson's items into the attic scene of the Haunted Mansion with Constance. Can you find his military jacket, boots and things in the bride scene? Maybe something to do if your doombuggy comes to a stop in the area, for a wheelchair rider.
Notice that Connie's husband Reginald, Jack Sparrow over at POTC, and Edward Gracey in the HM movie, all use the exact same chair to sit in! Check the design and upholstery.
The official backstory of Gracey Manor provided for the HM movie says that it was built near the river so that the owner could use secret passages between the house, the crypts of the adjoining graveyard, and the nearby riverfront in order to carry on clandestine activities like smuggling with pirates.

Temporaryhero Woah, this is really cool! Thanks for the info!☺
if you need more room in the van when you depart for your belongings maybe a hitch rack (if it has a hitch receiver) or a roof rack
3 more weeks and we are going on the road with the woo..... Vicariously of course.... But still I can't wait.....
Adam, could you do a side by side video from gate of both Disneyland and Magic Kingdom and show a walk thru and how they are different, some of us might never get to Disneyland and I would love to see how close they are to each other and what the differences are.
Thanks for reminding me that I have to bring a visit at DCA some day.
Stil after a couple of vids, im still amazed by the drone footage! That thing is awsome
DANG Hoss!! That apartment is gettin' BIGGER & BIGGER! :)
Goosebumps during the Disneyland band and time lapse. 😊
WOW I haven't seen a Shakey's in a long time. They used to have them in Minnesota years ago. Not sure about these days but it could have been a different restaurant. Never ate at one but they were all over the place in MN.

Also Adam while you're still in California you should totally check out the Zodiac killer spots
Ha! I was totally working at Disneyana when you shot this video. Awesome video sir.
So glad you got the drone, the footage is amazing.
I absolutely love your videos, keep up the great work. You're one of my role models
Adam, that's an RC track you saw. They race radio control cars there.
It's the Daily Wooooooooo lol you sounded like Ric Flair when you said "Woooooooo" going down the ramp of the roller coaster.
jay is great! will miss his adventures with you when you leave!
The catacombs arch is actually a fairly modern embellishment added in the Eisner era.
we had 3 Shakeys in British Columbia when I was growing up.New Westminster,Vancouver, prince George but the closest one was just across the Border in Blaine Washington.Best Pizza ever!
when you fly your drone do you worry that it will fly out of range or that you will loose sight of it? are there failsafe instructions for that?
I haven't pushed it anywhere near the range is yet. Its pretty intense
Soarin' with Adam The Woo.....love it, good work!
Highly recommend you going to Temescal Canyon Gateway Park. It is beautiful, a lot of filming has been done there by different shows and movies and you can fly the drone there, getting a view of the Santa monica pier and Damn near the rest of L.A
I keep trying to persuade him to go to Franklin Canyon where a lot of 60's shows (including COMBAT) were shot.
The small details. Miss Disneyland Superbad... And only went once. Headed to WDW in 10 days... Starting to appreciate it's history more.
I just thought of something: what do you do with your phone during splash mountain or Pirates of the Caribbean? It seems like it would get wet/ruined.
The swinging gondolas are the most terrifying ride ever!!
Loved the time lapse shots, Adam!
should drone the location of Donnie Darko when he wakes up at the beginning, that would look amazing!!
Bit late to the party but that Long Forgotten site is a super interesting read if you're into Disney history and stuff
Adam, where did you get the Haunted Mansion sign by your door? Did they have it at the park? Do they still?
yeah at Disneyana store on main street
5:30 boy: bro look this guy brother: wtf he doing dont look XD
Hi Adam, Me and my sister enjoy watching your vids, always put a smile on our faces. :)
Shakeys Pizza in Wisconsin. Player piano in the main dining room with old silent movies being shown. Overly salty buffet food food as I recall. lol
I realized 90% of the things I purchased in my life were worthless compared to experiences.
I wish you good luck in creating experiences instead of accumulating material stuff.
Good luck Adam.
I've never been to Disneyland and that screaming ride is the first I'm riding if and when I ever go!
My grandparents had a Timmy Pontoon boat. Great fun!
Hello friend we used to have Shakeys all over Ga now we only have 1 in Warner Robbins Ga last one iv been told thanks .
Ram
Aww, you didn't pull up your shirt on "Flash" Mountain!
I bought one of the out side of the park street signs that celebrate 35 years of Disney Magic in my basement.
Yeah that's weird they took out the Mickey's Silly Symphony Swings ride in DCA, just odd as to why they did.
You should look into selling some of your drone footage on a stock footage site. Perhaps the thing will actually pay for itself
Woo-man,really enjoy your videos and glad i subscribed, keep up the excellent adventures and be safe out there!!
Hey Adam, ever thought about going to the Great Park in Irvine,CA? Maybe drone material?
They have tons of Shakeys in Japan, I actually thought they were only in Japan for the longest time.
Is the California one an all you can eat buffet as well? Japanese one is 15 dollars for 90 mins, with an additional 10 dollar feel for all you can drink, beer included.
you are getting the hang of the quad copter Adam!
The bank can hire someone to pickup the trash with all the money they steal from us everyday. Love you Chase.
i get to travel with you everytime you do...thanks
I've always wondered: Whatever happened to the 'dungeon' area on Tom Sawyer's Island? Yeah, there really was one.
Liking the videos lately, I think that drone is really going to make your channel look kick ass. Any chance you are swinging by San Diego before you leave?
You should name your drone.. 'The Majestic'
He did! YOU MISSED THAT VLOG! Shame on you! lol
+Francine Scott LMAO! Probably did... I should pay attention when I watch RUclips videos.. I usually watch while I do things AHAHA... Regardless, it's a good name ...
+carolcarol92
Ahhh....a multi-tasker.
....Very cool, what looks to be, 'Ghost Story' t-shirt. 'Ghost Story' is a very undervalued movie. Saw it when it came out as a kid and seen it several times since.
You are such a brave dude, really.
Look how much you have grown.
So nice that you know how to live and love yourself enough to adventure the way you do! I admire that :)
Take care of you
the swinging gondolas are soooo scary!!! Scariest ride in DCA hands down! Worse than ToT
Have you ever done a thing about how the Disney characters have been protected from going into the public domain for way too long?
The characters wouldn't be in public domain under the newer laws OR the older ones. The characters are trademarked, which is much different from copyright. Individual films featuring those characters might one day be public domain.
Adam, you're the one and only. It had to be a musician. Always making me laugh. Thank you.
The track might be for R/C racing. The drivers would stand in the elevated box adjacent to the track to drive. Maybe.
On a scale from 1-10 how bad do you think the loop is on California Screaming
that was some awesome action on the coaster. Best Ive ever seen.
