I get Doreen has issues and I most of the time actually like her, but if I were Karen, I would have a hard time keeping my cool with her in this situation.
I am at about 18:02 in this episode and if I was Karen I would throw Doreen out on her ass. If she ended up back in prison then so be it. Doreen barely knows Roz.... she has known Karen longer. Yet she has risked Karens freedom and her own for Roz. She put the half way house at risk. A place where someone like Lizzie (who Doreen loves) can spend her last days. Doreen acts like a spoiled brat and I would not put up with it anymore. If I ended up back inside because of her... I would kick her ass everytime I seen her.
I agree. When Doreen behaves this way, she is nothing but a thoughtless brat. I like Doreen a lot of the time but she gets on my nerves when she carries on like an obnoxious child.

Doreen is a bloody, thoughtless, careless, selfish brat. Ros is equally thoughtless, careless and selfish as well, risking Karen's parole and risking Sally Lee House staying open.
This is one of the episodes that Doreen acts like a sulky pre teen one minute, and a sulky child the next. You want to slap the crap out of her. Great acting from Colette.

We already saw Doreen/Karen/Roz in the bedroom. That room with the bed, wardrobe and vanity; which aren't in the kitchen.
Meg is a class act. ❤️her. I’m not half the woman she is to be fair to a woman that killed my husband and then look out for the woman that in a way took the interest of my new love interest (doc miller). She’s an amazingly gracious human being
I think meg changed her feelings about Chrissy when shepherd about her past and how damaged she wud of been from it all I agree tho don't think I wud be so under standing 🤔
Not only does that TV in the kitchen of the halfway house work without being plugged in to anything, it also has phosphor missing from the front of the screen.. It's a Magic TV that totally works fine in every way! :)
This is a great classic TV show. Some aspects are dated, but that's part of its charm. Other aspects are still very pertinent today.
It has me hooked.
and additional comment, maybe they should call the halfway house the halfway kitchen because that's all you ever seem to see is that bleeding kitchen

SchlargNoise probably the most realistic portrayal of a woman in prison and priorities she should have
Later on she won’t give a damn about the two kids that she talks about every 5 seconds but she will chase after that loser no hope eldest son of hers.
She is a waste of space. No redeeming features whatsoever.

@@daviddemarco8327 I always say that annoying characters like this are the writers sense of humour as we don't get a break from them. E.g when Pat finally leaves were then stuck with Vivien and her horse faced daughter, they're then replaced with Sharon and it's an on going cycle right until the very last episode.
The writers have to create all kinds of people. Let's face it, you can't just make the screws the bad guys. I don't like everyone I meet or have worked with so why would you like all prisoners?

@@karennicholls8532 I see your point but this is the only soap with so many annoying characters. Eastenders I can think of two ever, Hollyoaks one ever, Corrie none. Meanwhile prisoner has about 50 within six, seven years lol. Some are down to bad acting but most are just damn right irritating.
Doreen is making me root for Karen, who I actually cannot stand.
I have to admire Karen's patience with Doreen. I would have kicked her out of the halfway house on day 1.
Poor Karen needs the patience of a Saint with Doreen! She’s like a child isn’t she bless her And Karen is still adjusting to life outside herself. I think she’s doing a great job in the Halfway house

I can't stand Pat or Ros - both are beyond annoying useless. I can't wait until their gone for good. But, a break from them between that time would be good also.
Pat talks way too much and from day one she's followed Bea around as her new best friend despite there being no chemistry between the two what so ever and as Bea is the main character we all have to suffer listening to Pats dog rough voice. Even when she isn't following Bea around she'll be taking her trolly somewhere, going from cell to cell either getting in everyone's business or banging on about her family and how she has to be out for Christmas. Such an awful character, gets WAY too much air time.
Monica Maughan must have earned quite a bit as the actresses were paid for screen time

Theres a story behind that. Val told a story once about Sheila Florence who played Lizzie actually being right handed but during The Blitz in London she was blasted through a shop window when a bomb went off. She had severe nerve damage to her right arm and hand and so couldn't write with that hand anymore so she taught herself to write with her left hand instead. True story.
I'm a south paw too and noticed her using her left hand when writing the damning play about vinegar and fletch 😂

I like Ros a lot. Its good to see her not letting the screws get to her despite being back inside again. She is a fighter and is using her brain by getting back at them through the Christmas play. Good on her!! Hope they hurry up and parole Pat, she deserves to be free with her family for Xmas.

It always amazes me that the cell door viewing windows in solitary still use a metal bar across the window unlike regular cells that have catches but they have never used them to attack each other despite the women getting to those solitary cells quite easily!!!

Doreen has become selfish beyond belief! I'm not a fan of Karen but I can understand why she's angry! She should toss Doreen out of the Halfway House until Doreen learns to think of others instead of herself all the time! Collette Mann is absolutely brilliant as Doreen!

I like Doreen. 🤗But l have to admit she's extremely annoying & weird. 😐With Doreen having a mental health problems. That somebody would found her a support worker, a counsellor. Times have changed and people are more aware of mental health problems. If she was getting the right help & support she would be leading a normal life. People would be a lot more understanding & a lot more helpful - than back in the 70's & 80's. Nowadays there's more understanding bout mental health.
She is a later bloomer needing parenting, and to be taught life skills. They all want her to grow up but she never worked through the process. What the hell do they expect?

The person who ever came up with the idea to kill McNally and keep this boring Roslyn on was an idiot! She is incredibly boring and so is her storyline! They could have done much more, yet the writer chose the easy way out and bored everyone to death!
the actress who played mcnally probably wanted (and deserved) more money so writers killed off her character. roz is ok but. its pat my kids my kids whos the real boring annoying one. hopefully she disappears with no explaination like some others have lol.

I finished and then started Neighbours from episode 1, I made it only to like episode 500, Then I couldn't find anymore on RUclips or the other site I watch. I still get to see the present episodes of Neighbours on the other site every Monday-Friday. I love the Aussie culture and I wish with all my heart I could go there! I went on a cruise last week, there was a lot of Aussies on there. They were awesome people!
Jeremy Doe. To me the accents are more Brit sounding than the stereotypical Aussie accent.

I'm not sure why, but Pat's mom annoys me. I think it's because she sounds like she's over exaggerating about her aches and pains rather than appearing genuine in her body language and speech. Kind of like she wants to cop of out of helping Pat until she's able to get out soon.
As for Pat, she's caring toward people which is good but something about her annoys me as well.
What annoys me about Pat isn't just her unholy obsession with her bloody kids, it's the fact that she can't listen to anyone else's woes without immediately projecting her own troubles in response. Like it's a contest.

Bea could be kinda hypocritical at times. She wanted to bash Chrissie when she was pregnant,yet she burned Lynne Warner's hand in the press,and threatened Bella Albrecht cos of alleged crimes against children (one false,one true). She was a great top dog all round tho with her faults.Guess she was a kinda prototype of the anti-hero main character that seems to be popular in TV shows nowadays. Don Draper and Nucky Thompson both come to mind.

Can't realizing that there's no real villains at this point in the show like there would be later on. Nearest is Vera who's mean and a killjoy but not really evil. Some of the characters that came later were exceptionally despicable ( I can think of a certain EC towards the end who was practically in league with Satan),don't wanna mention any cos it might spoil it for newbies,but it would be interesting if the Prisoner Facebook fanpage did a poll as to who the worst Prisoner baddie ever was.
