Talking about their first Album studio " The RED " Is about Vocal. All their vocal are shine in this Album . And I think The RED is really Red Velvet's Album which explore and show amazing Wendy's vocal as a main vocalist and also show how rich Red velvet's vocal. All of them really did best their vocal in this album.
yeah "Don't You Wait No More" it's a lot but Dem Jointz is famous for pushing the boundaries in his producing! He's the same who produced NCT 127 "Cherry Bomb", "Punch", "Kick it" and "Sticker", EXO "Obsession", SHINee "Don't Call Me" and many other songs both for other SM artists and western legends such as Janet Jackson, Christina Aguilera and Kanye West! It takes a minute but once you get used to it it's an addictive song!
I like The Red, but they have two masterpiece albums in my mind, the first is "The Perfect Red Velvet" (it is the whole "perfect velvet" album plus three new songs, including "bad boy") and the "Reve Festival: Finale", which is the songs of the Reve festival day 1+2 plus Psycho + 3 new b-sides. For a different reaction I would recommend an OST, my two favorite are Hospital Playlist OST season 1, which has songs from Joy and Wheein and the the OST for Guardian: the lonely and great god.
this album is still the best in my opinion. The production is so good and if it still sounds so expensive and great in 2022 imagine what kind of experience it was to be listening to this album in 2015. Im forever gonna be impressed by Wendy’s vocals, she really is the best vocalist of the 3rd generation and one of the best in the entire kpop industry. All of these songs are so unique and good ugh i love them so much
If you're thinking of doing another red velvet album reaction at some point I'd recommend the "The Perfect Red Velvet," of course I'm only speaking for myself but I think it's their best album/mini-album by a decent margin and it's got a lot of their most iconic b-sides on it that I'm sure you'd love (at least I think you haven't heard it yet).
It's interesting because people have commented in other reactions that they see time slip as a red song but I've always considered it a velvet song because the chorus feels like it coats the whole song in smoothness and the feeling i get when i listen to this song just "you're gonna lie down here, close your eyes and just feel your own feelings"

Day 1 has a special place in my heart after the redmare USA tour, since it was their finale. it's amazing how watching them live gives you an even better appreciation for their bsides
From The Red the songs that made my Red Velvet playlist are: Dumb Dumb, Huff n Puff, Campfire, Red Dress, Oh Boy, Don't U Wait No More, Cool World. Not every song was an instant add, some took some time and for example for how much I now love Oh Boy and Don't You Wait No More they were both pass at first, now I can't skip them even if I tried.

With Red Velvet you definitely HAVE to listen to their b-sides! They definitely switch between their Red and Velvet side in their earlier albums but the journey from to that to them mixing both is such a roller coaster! It’s so worth it to listen to all of them in order!

Red Velvet has a lot of references to Dorothy in OZ. Their whole concept might be based on that story. Irene might seem like the villain, the wicked witch, but in reality, she is also manipulated by the real villain of the story. No one knows who's the real villain and everyone is fooled by the wizard of OZ. Wendy is certainly Dorothy. In Peek-a-Boo, she wears a dress like Dorothy and the ReVe finale album is making a direct reference to that story. They even have a robot character and a scarecrow-like character that are appearing in different mv and teaser videos
I LOVE Day 1 but I prefer your honesty 100% The magic with RV is that everyone can find their song in their discography but not neccesary we need to love all of them. I always skip DAY 1 when it comes up but this year I started listening to it again because of Seulgi. the members occasionally mention the song whenever they miss doing concerts. Just today, on Ep. Irene (new content uploaded on RV's RUclips channel) Irene sang quite a bit of Day 1 while she was driving.
When I saw RV live in 2019, "Day 1" was the song that had the most audience interaction. There's no choreography for them to worry about. They go around the stage waving to individual fans and throwing autographed rubber balls and Frisbees into the crowd. It was a lot of fun. Best chance to catch the eye of your bias.

Irene might seem like the villain, the wicked witch, but in reality, she is also manipulated by the real villain of the story. No one knows who's the real villain and everyone is fooled by the wizard of OZ. Wendy is certainly Dorothy. In Peek-a-Boo, she wears a dress like Dorothy and the ReVe finale album is making a direct reference to that story. They even have a robot character and a scarecrow-like character that are appearing in different mv and teaser

I LOVE Day 1 but I prefer your honesty 100% The magic with RV is that everyone can find their song in their discography but not neccesary we need to love all of them. I always skip DAY 1 when it comes up but this year I started listening to it again because of Seulgi. the members occasionally mention the song whenever they miss doing concerts. Just today, on Ep. Irene (new content uploaded on RV's RUclips channel) Irene sang quite a bit of Day 1 while she was driving.
When I saw RV live in 2019, "Day 1" was the song that had the most audience interaction.
There's no choreography for them to worry about.
