Today I saw a video where someone has made a modern house with all the necessities in Bangalore, but made with mud and other eco friendly means. I wish Mayapur tries to do that. Mayapur has divine tenderness may that retain even as it grows with the times.

Hare Krishna Mataji & Prabhu! I was watching this on my TV but then had to jump onto my laptop to comment, so you can bet that I am serious about Mayapur. Yes, I love Mayapur too. It is one of my favorite places to live and I have lived in a few places. And I am worried about Mayapur too. The construction thing is really bad. The first thing that ISKCON / West Bengal Government should look in is take in real devotees. A real devotee would live in Mayapur inspite of all the issues. And if the devotee can only live in a 3000 sq ft flat and nothing else he or she is not a devotee. Any one with greed and attachment to material benefits is not a devotee. That is the first thing that can save Mayapur. every thing else comes later. Hari Bol. Glad to see your video after a while.
Your understanding is incomplete at best! Except for the years in exile, the Pandavas lived in palaces! Are you saying that they are not devotees? King Prataparudra (ruler of Orissa) lived in a palace yet he was a great devotee of Lord Caitanya! Bhaktivinoda Thakura lived in a very nice, multi-story house not far from where these new houses are being constructed. Was he not a pure devotee of Krishna? Pure devotees remain pure in all circumstances, rich or poor! Living in simple circumstances causes some people to become envious, not pure!

There is no best guru, country, spiritual path,etc. you have been born in a country, culture, family etc to work out certain karmas and to learn to be present and see the divine hand in every environment and circumstance. In devotion, let me tell you that it is clearly written in all the scriptures and Vedas that Gods and Goddesses, even the supreme Brahma, are eager to be born on a holy land like India and on this earth, other countries outside India are the land of enjoyment and materialistic in nature. When the people of the land do devotion then they have to face a lot of difficulties to attain God. If they have to attain God through devotion then they will have to do something meaningful by taking birth on the land of India.
you guys should also contribute in Shramdaan to the beautiful village where you live instead of being selfish and just enjoying the benefits of village atmosphere and enjoying the its benefits at a personal level though nothing wrong with it, as you are not causing any interference but you will fail on moral grounds about being selfless.
