HangTime Full POV - Knott's Berry Farm's New 2018 Coaster

- Knott’s Berry Farm will welcome HangTime, a brand new steel rollercoaster - and the only dive coaster on the West Coast - to the theme park during the 2018 summer season. HangTime will tower 150 feet over the Boardwalk area, showcasing 5 gravity-defying inversions, mid-air suspensions and twisting dive tracks.
HangTime will send riders up a vertical lift hill into a raised 96-degree drop - the steepest drop in California. The coaster’s train will come to a halt once the highest peak is reached, and will leave riders suspended at the crest for 2 seconds at a 60-degree angle, giving the illusion of a disappearing track. Then the train will suddenly descend in a beyond-vertical drop, through 2,198 feet of steel track and five gravity-defying inversions. HangTime will be only the second rollercoaster in the Western Hemisphere to feature a negative-g stall loop, which gives riders the sensation of floating.
HangTime’s ride structure itself will come to life and illuminate the Boardwalk area with colorful nighttime track chase lighting that will accompany the coaster train’s travels across the smooth steel track.

Finally a pov! Apparently it's going to be a mirrored image of what was shown on the picture (The lift hill will be closest to Xcelerator rather than riptide's old location). But not 100% sure.

Ok I got it from the RUclips video "HangTime new roller coaster nighttime construction tour at Knott's Berry Farm". It's not going to be a mirror image of itself, rather it will be turned 180 degrees so the lift hill is closest to xcelerator.

Exact same ride as Boomerang, the cobra roll is in the near exact place, it goes upside down one less time than boomerang, and both rides hold you before the drop..

Honestly, the announcement was kind of a letdown in comparison to the other parks that unveiled their new coasters that day. The least Knott's could have done was release an official POV of this thing…
That being said, HangTime looks like an absolutely amazing ride, and you did a great job with this NoLimits 2 recreation. To me, it was probably the second best thing to come out of Wednesday behind Steel Vengeance at Cedar Point.
I mean I'm with you there, but that's less on Knott's and more on Cedar Fair.
With that in mind, both of Cedar Fair's other new coasters were RMC's, which always have some sort of animation to go with them (made by a company that isn't RMC, but I digress), regardless of who it's for. It's basically precedent now. I don't think Gerstlauer has ever made an animation for any of their coasters. Not like that's any excuse. A company like Cedar Fair should have put a litttle more effort into this announcement.
This is definitely in my top three, but I'm looking forward to Time Traveler more than this.

The overall layout of the coaster looks good but the dive part doesn't look attractive to me but i look forward to riding!

This looks awesome!!! It's kind of like Fahrenheit at Hersheypark, except it has a 97 degree drop and no stall. I wish Fahrenheit had that stall at the beginning, that would really add to the thrill!

It holds you in place before the "dive". It is a Dive Coaster and an Infinity Coaster... Just like most B&M Dive Coasters are also Hyper Coasters. Coasters aren't limited to only one classification.

Hard to tell how accurate it is since I only had one picture to use... but the height is correct, the max speed is correct, and the track length is very very close.

One thing I timed was the ride duration form drop to brake and it isn't that long at 34.467 seconds. So it is still a great addition to the park but it isn't going to last long but that is good cause Knott's Berry Farm is a huge park and I think rider capacity (like how many riders it would get in an hour) will be high if they ran 2 trains.cause one infinity train holds 16 riders for a full length train and 2 trains for 32 riders and you multiply that by 60 you would get a reasonable 1920 riders per hour and if the park was open at 9AM and closed at 10PM lets say (that would be 13 hours by the way) that would be almost 25000 at 24960 riders in that 13-hour day alone. I would say that is a a pretty respectable rider capacity for a longer day.
Luckily they are running 3 trains.. but the capacity isnt gonna be THAT high

Epicoaster Dragoneater it is. Knott's announced that it will be a dive coaster. First every Infinity Dive, in general dive coaster, in the west coast.
Space_____ _____BAR we will start a war. The GP are the ones being fooled. Cedar Fair is advertising it like that to attract people. There is no dive infinity coaster. It is simply an Infinity coaster. That's like calling every coaster that goes beyond 90 degrees a dive coaster.
Epicoaster Dragoneater it's called a dive coaster because of the stall before the drop. Technically a dive coaster doesn't need a 90+ degree drop
