I like the idea of a retro bowl (tecmo bowl with new roster) if you're willing to play some pc stuff, or any older football/baseball games from NES Era and above
Honestly, Super Mega Baseball is what all sports games should strive to be - pure fun mainlined into your veins, with some surprisingly in depth mechanics. I love that you have Gunns on the roster, he was by far my favourite player on SMB3 - I heard Barry Bonds had pajamas with Gunns on them growing up.
they pushed an update for franchise in this game. You really should make a series. This game needs more eyes. I play in a 15 man discord, spreadsheet driven custom team online franchise league :) rookie drafts, trades, free agents, minor leagues, progression age and regression, playoffs, stats, hall of fame, so cool. All teams started with a shuffle draft too. We did 30 seasons in SMB3. I only played a few but you really get to be your own GM.
I can't believe Drewski hasn't played these games yet. They are by far my favorite baseball games out there. The depth and difficulty of the game is completely up to you. You can make it as basic or in depth as you want. I would love to see a full series of franchise mode with this game.

I love Drewski's content - but ultimately, it's about enjoying the game, and SMB is crazy addictive fun. Once Drewski really dials in his Ego settings, I think he'd genuinely enjoy playing a few seasons of franchise regardless of the content. In a custom franchise, he can even sim games and skip to the playoffs if he felt like it. Or re-create the Tom Adamo All-Stars as a baseball team. Or anything, really. SMB is fun fun fun.
It's a fantastic game for casual and hardcore baseball fans. Such a nice break from the serious sports games but doesn't feel stripped down like most other silly sports games.

I own all 4 of these and really love em. The thing that I really like is that depending on the ego level you can make it super arcadey or super realistic....well as far as stats go anyway.
I'd love to see you play franchise mode until you win a championship or maybe even longer. This could be the baseball equivalent to your college football series! Great video!
I’ve commented in the past about the Genuine joy you experience while playing games, But there’s an extra amount of fun watching you figure out how to play the game while you play. Adds extra fun for me. Keep it up, and yes, make this a series

The was a game called MLB Blitz where you could play as Scorpion from Mortal Kombat and use his sword as a bat. That was the coolest baseball game ever. Also, you could fight with the pitcher.

Super Mega Baseball is awesome. In SMB3 online play there was a problem where beanballing the opposing players and injuring them was too good, so they had to nerf it :P. Every online game was just a beanball war.
Catchers are basically throw aways in this game. They only last for about 2 games, and then they need to rest a game, or else they'll get too tired. Arm is like the number one thing you need and an okay defense.
You do know you can create a team from scratch. You can completely edit your team from top to bottom. That includes Logos and uniforms an your name of your team. I have to say for a simple game theres alot of depth in it. I've enjoyed the game so far. ❤
SMB3 was imo the best baseball game ever made and I'm ver glad it looks like EA didn't screw it up when they bought it, would love to see a series of this.

Drewski, you can adjust the difficulty of specific aspects of the gameplay! Towards the end you said you wanted the pitching to be harder - for example you could have batting & base running at 50 ego, while pitching and fielding are at 60 And please make this a series 🙏

Super Mega Baseball seems like as close to the old MLB Slugfest games we'll get, and those games were fun arcade affairs.

If you want to power swing, you hold the button down around the time the pitcher releases the ball and usually you have good timing for the power. :)
Im not really into simulation style baseball games so im definitely going to give this a try. I loved the first super mega baseball

To use power you have to swing a little early. It's a slower swing from what I've noticed playing the game. Contact should work just fine

I play the opposite style - speed is super important on offense and defense, but I power swing on every pitch and ignore contact.
