She was pretending being a reporter for Eurovision that would probably ask her that question. The excuse for this was "you have to be prepared and know what to answer when they ask you about Crimea, the war..." and all that stuff.
I don't agree about bringing politics in a musical contest, but that was the reason of Jamala's question. Plus you can tell she was speaking in English and acting like a fool, no one asks a serious question by themselves in a language that in not theirs and moves like a child.

Natalia Miilu, with that all being said. I don't think that Crimea is a topic to discuss at a Song Contest. As long as a contestant ist Ukrainian and loves his country deeply - everything is fine. Now would I or anyone I know be ok with a person going, whose parent received a medal for "getting Crimea back to Russia"??(wtf??) No, obviously not. But that was more of a show runner's mistake - a background check would have solved this. But Maruv wone fair and square, I would have been happy if she did go as Ukrainian contestant. If only she wouldn't be so titsy about the contract. These rules where there for Verka Serduchka as well.

Where is the freedom and opportunity promised to the Ukrainian people ? Seems like the current government has no qualms with crunching down on it's own artists. I think any nation that oppresses it's own artists is not a good country to live in. And it is an indication of something terribly rotten residing under the surface.

I loke Maruv, because over the years the people who follow her have seen her growth as an artist and in the end that was valued by the ukrainian community. It's not vulgar, it's sexy, it's not porn it's a show. If we look at Madonna's performances, they are much more explicit but people look at them with an open mind. Ukrainians have an open mind too, they have shown, but politicians do not. For that reason I think that unfortunately my country has no democratic origin. We do not have to ask permission for an artist to represent us. Maruv has shown with her attitude that she is worthy of being what she is. Jamala has concert at 2015 at Sochi (Russian Federation) and represent Ukraine at 16 year after that.

I can't even begin to understand how tense the political situation in Ukraine is right now and I understand that their representative can't spout certain political opinions (e.g. crimea). But especially Ukraine that aspires to be a normal democratic european country they should value artistic freedom more. Competing in the ESC shouldn't damage your career before you could even do it all by yourself on stage.

Jamala asking that question was so weird... Especially how she ended her question at 1:24...

It’s pretty sure that nobody will represent Ukraine this year. Two singer of the 2 and 3 place refused to go to the EV song contest ...

I personally just don't get it?! EBU is right not to get too involved, but do give them a fine!! Ukraine is acting so petty right now.

It is a disgrace, I wish EBU would be more strict on that, everyone is so done with Ukraine bringing politics where they should not be. What they did to Maruv deserves a disqualification for this year
