Does anyone else feel time is slipping by so fast.....I'm 52 but it seems like yesterday that I was 18 and listening to this song when it first came out....now it has a whole new meaning!
I'm 52, sometimes I listen to the music I loved back then and just cry because I miss it so much! So so much happier back then. Music was better people were nicer and things were so much more enjoyable and genuinely happier!!!!
@@maryedwards3734 I agree with you 100% Mary.....we were lucky to have grown up in such a wonderful time with so many musical artist and concerts $10-15....I miss those days butLike Eddie says "I want to go back and do it all over but I cant go back I know".
My absolute favorite tune by Eddie. Eddie was a class act, wrote good tunes, and had that quintessential '80's pop star persona. He's finally using his ticket to Paradise 💔💔 R.I.P legend 💔💔
Got to spend a night in my favorite bar with Eddie and his band back in the 90s. One of the best nights ever. Thanks for the memories! RIP $ $ $ MONEY MAN $ $ $
I lost my mom in 2010 and dad in 2018 and I feel you Lisa, please hang in you are not alone. I never thought it would hurt so much and I cant get over them not being here.
when so much music today seems manufactured for here today gone tomorrow..."stars?" this reminds us just how good simple songs like this really were...and are...great. Thanks Eddie (and Bryan).
I miss the past (70's / 80's) soooooo much, I miss my parents , my sister . Loved the music , t.v. shows and movies from this period of time. I'm now 55 years old.Time has a way of bitch slapping us with a ha , ha , ha he , he , he.
LIfe is funny i liked this song when it came out i was about 12 or so but how at 46 I like it but it makes so much more sense. Every single word he sings is so true. He passed away last year, up to the end he was telling jokes even though he knew he was dying. Here is to you Mr. Money thank you for the wonderful songs, may you rest in peace.
Blessed are these who are called to the marriage supper of the lamb. Let us rejoice. I want go back And do it all over. But I can't go back. But I wanna go back And do it all Over.
I recall when Eddie Money and Ric Ocasek of the Cars died within weeks (days?) of each other in 2019. I grew up on both of them. Eddie's after my heart.
If this song wasn’t used in a John Hugh’s flick it should have been. I’m glad to see so many people who were his friends come out and pay a musical tribute to the money man. He had an amazing career and I’m sure he would be laughing at all the recognition only because he was such a humble person. Thank you EM although we all can’t go back it’s my option that millions of people will continue to play his music forward . Thank you 🙏
I would like to go back also. If I knew then what I know now my life would be different. Maturity comes with age AND realizing how you could have done things alot differently. If only I knew!!
One of the few songs I could listen too nonstop, and never get tired of. I want to go back if just to see the faces that I feel I will never see again. Knowing what I know now, so I could use the time to share the Gospel of Christ with them. And pray that they would turn to Him and be waiting when I step into GODs glory with them.
The instruments in background are what make Eddie Money's songs truly exceptional! Love that saxophone! Just listen to John Fogerty's "Rock and Roll Girl" or Rick Astley's "together Forever" and you will know exactly what I am talking about..... Exceptional music has an equal balance of good well composed lyrics, instrumental accompaniment, and vocals..... This song came out while I was still in High School so the song brings back tons of memories from my teenage years in rural Saskatchewan....!
heard this song on the top 40 countdown they do every sunday and i remembered when he came to the state fair back in 2007 with CCR and Eddie brought his daughter on stage to sing. what a voice she had. i still have the autographed cd and ticket. i wished i could back to that night. there are paths i would have liked to gone down instead just to see what would have happened
Song is great..total 80s vibe. Then the saxophone hits and it melts into an 80s sitcom...complete with the commercials for lite brite...Metaphorically of course.💜
It's often said" we didn't know how good we had it" But I think us born in the late 60's and 70's did know. I Knew we were the coolest and things were great. I don't really remember race being a big issue. You settled your differences with your fist . There was plenty of different types of music for everyone. If you got bullied you just got bullied you didn't act act like a pussy and cry about it and shoot up the school and a bunch of innocent people. I was never what you would call really popular but I didn't give a shit I have much fun in my circles
My favorite EM song. I want to go back, too, but if only I could do it all over knowing what I know now. I can never go back. I'll never have what I dared to hope was mine. Hardest thing of all is to live your life for decades telling yourself, reminding yourself every single day, that you can't lose what you never really had... ...asking yourself why the only thing you ever really wanted out of life had to be nothing more than an apparition. She was a wonderful dream during an afternoon nap that seemed so real and so beautiful yet she evaporated into a mere memory so beautiful and yet so poignant that I wish I could erase her from mind completely. Decades ago. The emptiness is vast and cold and will always be there until the day my heart stops caring... The day he stops beating.
As I’m preparing Thanksgiving dinner, I’m wishing I could go back. 😂 Being a kid, going to my Grandparents, hanging with my numerous cousins and playing pool in the basement. Nothing is the same. Damn…. 🎶 I wanna go back!!! 🎶
I love this song. I pushed the love of my life away in 1995. Since then I always thought/believed that one day I’d make it right and now. .....the whole relationship world could learn a lot from what I have. My wishes came true.
The surreal thing is, when this song came out, I felt it was talking about the time right then, right there. And today it still makes me think the of that same time.
I have a wonderful life at age 47, wonderful wife, 2 great kids. I would go back to 88 for one day just to relive a day with my parents and brother when I was 14, be a blast I would think
I with I could go back to Peggy, my first real love. We had to end our relationship, for a sad reason that had nothing to do with us. Years later, I've been with other women, but I'll never forget her and she would say the same.
I want to go back. Id give anything for one more day at 17 with my girl. I have listen to this song millions of times. mostly for one line. I want to go back, but I cant go back I know. It is a sad truth that I wont ever be able to re do what I did. That I wont ever be able to tell her goodbye.
I wanna go back to when I was a baby & be adopted by a nice young couple who would love and spoil me. Unlike the Jerks who got me from the puppy pound and abused me.. 😣😭😭
life's meaning: spring: river flowing summer: sun glowing autumn: leaves falling winter: snow falling SO FLEETING and we $pend so much time waking up to a ceiling....

I wanna go back to those days, too.
Also, I just heard Eddie Money passed away this morning😢. Really a sad day for music lovers.
This songs hits so much harder as you get older. It captures perfectly what it was like being young, and then reminiscing about it years later.
