Seeing people arguing about the Tighnari and Cyno being siblings thing is the dumbest fucking thing in the world. As someone who has shipped Cynonari since 3.0 I think the shippers blowing it out of proportion blasting at people who think otherwise and chucking it up to a “mistranslation” which may or may not be true (maybe the phrasing just got lost in translation who knows) it’s far from helping your case.
But I also think that the anti-shippers saying “OMG the Cynonari shippers are going to go fatal lol” “this is why (insert ship here) is better” “now you see how Kealuc shippers feel” makes the fandom an insufferable place to be. You don’t get bonus points for not shipping that.Harassing the people who do ship it doesn’t make you better than everyone else. If you don’t ship it that’s completely fine, if you hate the ship that’s also fine. But most of these people just have headcannons it wouldn’t kill you to just ignore them.
To the people who see their whole dynamic platonically or familial that is also completely fine I can see why you think that. I personally think of a lot of popular ships as platonic(examples being Ittoxgorou, HuTaoxyanfai, Bennettxrazor etc) because I think that their dynamic would be interesting if they were platonic in a sibling or a familial kind of way rather than in a romantic way. But if someone interprets their interactions as romantic and you see their interactions as platonic, that’s OK. People have different interpretations and that’s completely fine. That doesn’t make someone ship incest that’s just ridiculous. Telling them that “they don’t know how siblings act” is stupid. Wether not you headcannon them as two Dad‘s raising a daughter or if you headcannon them as three siblings in a big family, both interpretations are completely valid no matter how “cannon” or “not cannon” they are.
Long story short let people just have their interpretations and opinions on this there’s no reason to start a whole war about this no one wins in a ship war.

Actually real. This fandom is so toxic and people genuinely seek to be malicious towards people who ship/don’t ship what they do. It gets around 10x worse with ships of the same gender because there’s an underlying current of homophobia surrounding some fan’s discomfort with seeing 2 men or 2 women in a relationship. I knew when I saw this scene that both sides of Twitter would go crazy and I was right. I wish we could just get along.

Oh no, I've definitely seen shippers react very defensively to this. Everything from "it's a mistranslation so it doesn't count" to "they both feel like they're siblings to /Collei/ not eachother". Even saw someone on twitter say that they're blocking anyone who insists a sibling dynamic between them.
I personally have nothing against the ship but it's definitely correct to say "shippers are going to lose their mind" bc that's pretty much what happened when the cutscene came out.
@Cee - Nah fr. Although, it is a mistranslation (or more so a cultural mistranslation. I'm east-asian btw). However, it's left more up to interpretation in Chineses, KR, and JP. In those languages, one can interpret them as friends close enough to be brothers, or in a relationship, but they don't view each other as an actual brother dynamic.

I point this out because it seemed to me a common "quarrel" between two brothers literally (for example it happened to me when I was little with my younger brother). I don't see two boyfriends or lovers arguing about who is the eldest of the couple, it seems very strange to me... The point is, if it really is a relationship that can be interpreted as one wishes, why put that exchange which, in my opinion at this point, was unnecessary.

To be fair, the Chinese original didn't say siblings, but "older brother - younger sister", implying their relationship with Collei. That's why Albedo responded by saying he also has a younger sister. But I like that the canon makes it clear that they are a family unit together.

Did they change Tighnari VA or it too late. I'll stick with English VA, because I'm too lazy to read subtitles. Also, I read some of the comments that they'll mute his part if they didn't change the VA. I doubted they do that.
I believe they already recorded his lines before he was fired.. all the animations would have been done atleast a month or two beforehand after all
They already paid for the lines might as well use it as they are looking for a new VA. It would probably disrupt the story's flow and enjoyment of the player base if Tighnari didnt have audio
They plan on slowly replacing the existing voicelines once they find a new VA. Not sure if there is one already right now.
They'll likely start with the earliest voicelines and also prioritize all of the newest ones that the old VA hasn't recorded yet.
By the time his va was exposed the lines were recorded, so they had to go on with his old voice actors lines, otherwise the patch would have been delayed
