This is a re-release for us. I was finally able to release the version without the words over the video.
You may not like the Casio sound but that solo-though probably improvised- was very well constructed. Emphasising the G 6, 4x was a good way to reassert the harmony. The musicians are having fun, sadly underrated IMHO.
These 3 are amazing musicians and shouldn’t be compared to anyone. They are unique exceptional musicians!
They are three mates from music school, and what a school. The Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm where they studied Jazz and musical composition. The lead singer has an insane range, the Bass player is one of the best I have seen and the drummer is spectacular.
I would very much like you to listen to another one. Try their version of "Thriller" together with Cory Wong or an original "Work shit out" - a musical masterpiece (nothing you never heard before). And yes, they are from Sweden - like me!
Regards!
Thank you so much 💓 💗
This group certainly does keep a person on their toes. Surprising sounds and unexpected twists galore!
You have to listen to "Work Shit Out" by Dirty Loops, and everything else they have done. These three musicians are virtuosos.
All of DL's songs are very different. Do a reaction to "Work shit out" or perhaps "Follow the light". Cheers
Thanks
Must do their New One "Run Away" Trust Me! Best Bass and drummer on the planet!!
Thanks, I'll add it to my list 😊
Rock you or Work Shit out for your next Dirty Loops reaction. Either one will blow your minds 🤯
Great video, Dirty Loops is my favorite band in the whole world! Please react to "Thriller".
Thank you so much 💓 💗
You ain't seen nothing yet... 😂The video is made by Aron, the drummer - so many talents! Glad you got a look at the credits they often put funny stuff in there. Please do more Dirty Loops - you're in for a surprise every time no matter which song you pick!
Thanks Ellen 😊
As good as Jonah’s vocals are his emphasis in music school was keyboards
@@edharris6456 yes he considers himself a keyboardist not a singer. But he still is an amazing singer too!
Absolutely@@ellenstergaardgravesen1011
Henrik is the happiest Emo I've ever seen!
Thanks guys, for that new release video -all perfect now ☺️
Here is an excerpt from an interview with Henrik (bass) on Bass Magazine, Songified, as to the making of this song:
Q: “Next to You” has a cool, halftime-shuffle feel and a gospel choir component.”
A : “That song took forever to write. Aron and I wrote the chorus in 2016. We found it in a drawer and tried a bunch of new verses with it until we got the right one. Then at the last minute, Aron wrote the gospel choir parts. He sent a very funny demo in which he marked where all the different gospel parts come in and what kind of voice they had. When Jonah recorded them, he had a chalkboard with all the different characters in the choir, and he distorted his voice to match each character and so none of them would sound like him. The groove has our typical, swung-funk, triplet feel, but the key is the Bootsy funk formula of having a heavy one to make all the subdivisions after it work. Aron wrote the chorus bass line, which is keyboard bass-like, and it worked best with a combination of fingers and slapping.”
Just to shed some light on their thinking and working process-.
As I said in your first release-vid, I’d love for you to take a look at some more Dirty Loops tunes!
You saw “Work Shit Out” ☺️
“Rock You” from the same album would be a great next one. 80s feels and MJ vibes for days!
So would be their cover of “Thriller” (in a collab with guitarist Cory Wong) 🔥😱☠️🔥
Cheers 🙏
Thanks, all are on my list
@@TouchyReactions great, cannot wait 👍
He plays a Korg But using a synth. Johna is classically trained.
don't worry, you're not the only one who not a fan of that "casio" solo synth sound 😅😅 and yes, jonah is basically classical player before started to learn jazz with the other two. that's why you can find classical touch on some of dirty loops songs.
Thanks
I can't beleive you compared this amazing talent of musicianship to maroon 5.............
Fun fact: All the vocals, I mean the choir and everything, is sung by the lead singer Jonah. I think he recorded like 20 different sounding vocals to make the choir.
Didn't we see the drummer recording Vocals in the video?
@@TouchyReactionsyes, that is Aaron singing with Jonah.
I don't think he is really singing. But even is he is, his voice would only be one in a whole choir of Jonah.
@@tias4837 he’s not. But that is him in the video “singing”
And they named each part as if it were a different choir member
That was a nice presentation - I enjoy both of your vibes, you seem like good people 😊. Funny, I LOVE the “Casio” sounding keyboard solo. One thing to know about these guys - they have an awesome sense of humor. They don’t try to stay in a specific genre, they just make masterpieces. They were sorta going all in on the 80s arena anthem style here. I got the sense that you both were stuck on trying to classify then into a category rather than just taking it in for what it is. I checked your channel, I see you gave up on them? I’d humble ask you to check out more stuff so you see their range and sheer genius and talent. Here are some of the best songs:
Work Shit Out, Hit Me, Follow the Light, Breakdown, Thriller (Michael Jackson cover), and many others. Hope you jump back in, thanks for the entertainment!
Thanks for sharing this with us ❤️. Truth be told, they hit us pretty hard with copyrights. That's why we drifted away. We loved their music.
More DL please!
And the piano is played on the same "casio" wich is still a KORG synthesizer...
Yes, of course it is.
If you haven't checked out "Work Shit Out," that shows the monsters they all are on their instruments.
Cindy, the word you’re looking for here 3:42 is “Goth” I believe. (Emo-like, wearing black vibe.)
Makes sense
You MUST SEE "Work Shit Out"
I find cool " casio's 80' sounds"😉✌🏻✌🏻
They are my favourite band bar none! Their take on Michael Jackson’s Thriller will thrill you. Cory Wong and his horn section are featured. The other number I like of theirs is Work Shit Out. This one really shows their talents in a big way. Great reaction. Don’t like the Cassio either. ❤️🇨🇦
Jonah's keyboard is a Korg X50 (I have 2 of them). The X50 uses Korg's highest end sound engine, the Triton. There isn't a sound it can't reproduce! To say it sounds like a Casio (cheap) is like saying the Hope Diamond looks like paste from K-Mart. But, you couldn't have known that other than from the Grand Piano preset Jonah used at the end, which might have given you a clue. Just a little FYI. You'll miss the most extraordinary music today if you don't continue to explore the VAST MUSICAL WORLD of Dirty Loops on YT. Good Luck.
People continue to misunderstand what we are saying. We have no doubt that they are playing on the highest quality instruments. The sound they chose to use for that solo sounded like an old keyboard from the 80s. That's all we were saying. It wasn't an insult. We were just making an observation.
@@TouchyReactions What’s interesting is that Jonah has been using the X50 since they started posting to RUclips which I believe was in either 2011 or 2014. He uses at least half a dozen different Korg instruments - right up to their very highest end keyboard - which I’m assuming the company provides because what could be better promotion than to hear a virtuoso like him doing their products such justice.
@@codygiron7814 absolutely 💯
"Casio" sound you don't like is probebly a Moog or a Prophet 5 sound.
I believe you might have missed our point.
6:00 only it’s not like that…like…at all. Not even close.
dirtyLoops != (maroon5 + Justin Timberlake)
Guys! i love that you try to understand music that is outside the realm of your understanding. Like watching a production video and believing that it's a live performance. Hey!!! isn't that the drummer singing !!!! lol duh..is that the bassist on drums!!! come on. Casio keyboards)..give me a break.
We've explained the Casio comment many times already in the comments.
Guy! I love that you don't understand that they comment what they see. You have no idea if they beleive it's a live setting or not. I didn't spot them saying that. Maybe I missed it. Aaron still sings in the video and Henrik play some drums. What was your intention with this comment? Was it just to piss on people you seem to think have a lesser understanding of things than you?
Woman you're out of control... where the h*ll did that "casio" thing come from. Jonah aint even playing a "casio". He is playing KORG keyboards. Do you have knowledge about keyboards synthesizers stage piano etc?
She wasn't trying to name the brand of keyboard. She was using a term we use around our house to describe a certain type of sound that keyboards make.
Nice attitude. Do you feel better now when you got show how much of an expert you are. There are other ways to say what you just said without disrespecting people.
@kingvii7250 I've heard numerous other reactors call that sound Casio. It simply refers to the old keyboard you could buy in the 80's that had a very similar sound profile. That you don't understand that, even after these reactors explained it several times in the video, says more about your child-like mind than anything.
