Awesome cover.. for some reason I find this song way harder to play than way more difficult songs to play, like Medusa by BMTH.. for some reason I cant get it right

Thanks! What really helped me is using upstrokes on backbeats (all unmuted notes). This feels like a natural way to play this song. Also in this way on 0's string goes slightly off pitch, which is more djenty sounding, maybe it will work for you aswell. Never heard Medusa before, what a killer!
