Some great "hints" ;-) It's so easy to spend hard-earned money for store-bought gadgets and solutions, when there is a simple DIY solution that's cheaper or even free!

I did no know about mixing Mobil 1 and Marvel Mystery Oil.
Will do it from now on. I always have both products on hand. ‘Project Farm’ did an test on Marvel and proved it’s use. I’ve only used it as a gas additive in all of my equipment. As usual,
    GREAT tips! Thank you!

As for the wrapping the paintbrush and rollers in a bag, here's what I do and it'll last a long time. I usually wrap the brush in a damp paper towel first then put it in a baggie or whatnot, then I put it in the refrigerator. Forget about it and a month later the brush is still good. Ok, maybe not a month, but I did forget about it and cleaned it after 2 and a half weeks.

a great thing for tape rods is you can mount a hack saw blade with washers to feed tape through and cut or use it to trim sandpaper to size.

Just discovered “french cleats”! Why don’t hardware stores sell these type of components for storage purposes? All people would need to do would be to install horizontal boards across their studs. This system is great! Do you use these in your workshop? 🤔

For those too lazy to check wiki:
Marvel Mystery Oil... is composed primarily of petroleum distillates, including mineral oil (60-100%), mineral spirits (10-30%), tricresyl phosphate (an antiwear and extreme pressure additive in lubricants, 0.1-1.0%), ortho-dichlorobenzene (a softening and removing agent for carbon-based contamination on metal surfaces, 0.1-1.0%), and para-dichlorobenzene (a precursor used in the production of chemically and thermally resistant polymers,

Does it have to be Mobil 1? And does it have to be 10w30?

    • @AlleyPicked

No. Any oil will work. I like mobil1. It is more expensive but you can use a cheaper oil as well.

Started watching until the history of marvel mystery oil. I'm guessing I dodged the entire history of oil production. I wish ppl would just get to the point.smh.

Marvel Mystery Oil is a fantastic additive. I use it in the gas tank of all of my rolling stock. More power to the engines and keeps the pistons
much cleaner. Before you knock it, do some research. Just because you don’t know about it is no reason to write negative things about it. It has a cult following.

Then why wont you call them "helpful hints" now? I shut you down when you said "hacks", but yet you mentioned tge common sense method of helpful hints. So which is it? Helpful hints, or the bs "hack"?

The term hack, which entered general usage with a new, nontechnological sense of “solution” or “work-around,” as in the phrase “life hack,” in the previous decade has undergone an impressive divergence in meanings since it entered the English lexicon hundreds of years ago. However, as with the synonym kludge (also spelled kluge), the etymological origin of the word is disputed.
