Start working out again. You don’t want to get washed up later in life. Slim people get washed up too. Your muscles start getting softer in your late 30’s - 40 for sure.
Ain nun wrong with growing old tho there’s plenty of old people who move well and walk around just fine without looking like they can bench throw a F150. As long as you do some activity and flex those muscles as many times a year as you can. You don’t have to follow a social media hype to be successful
@@XxCOOKEExxMONSTARxXtbh literally all you need to do is ride a bike for half an hour a day. that shit makes people maintain a great shape in their older years
The reason why people start then stop working out is because they’re not in love with the process and see working out as a chore. Shawn simply needs to find a way to make the gym fun for him, for some people it’s not the traditional weight lifting. For some it’s cross fit, plyometrics, calisthenics etc. there’s various ways to workout that might make the gym a better experience for you.
Exactly, like goign gym for me is one of the only time I can vibe to my music in peace. I also like the ride back home early in the morning and shower after. I dint get why anybody would go gym just to hope in 3 months they look really big and try get girls attention 💀
True. A couple years ago I was fatphobic to myself and would do cardio and core like crazy everyday after 12 hr shifts to get shredded. While it felt good when i got the “image” i wanted at the time, it wasn’t healthy and wouldn’t last. Now im more into compound weights and isolates and the process feels nice. Therapeutic even, esp with a good playlist going
I never really thought about it that way, but it makes sense. I’ve always felt very committed to work out but after like 2 months of doing it almost every day it just gets like tiring whereas I feel like I should start having more motivation the more progress that I see in my body.
I'm a powerlifter for about 6 years now. All my other friends complain about back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain. Nothing for me. Train to live a long life. Train for health. It doesnt need to be lifting heavy. Just stay active
What motivates me to go to the gym mostly is the feeling i get after post workout. I love the dopamine reward after pushing myself. Health and looking good physically is also a main reason but i see it more as a bonus now if anything.
I'm the exact same way. I'm an all or nothing person; if there's no longer a goal I lose all motivation immediately. And I just generally struggle to feel any reward or motivation in general. Buying clothes or material things rarely give me any dopamine as well. Working out doesn't make me feel great either, it was just a means to an end.
You’re one of the first people I’ve seen to talk about experiencing that same “meh” feel to things I see give other people joy. I’m a person that’s not easily motivated either, the conclusion I came to awhile ago is that the way I have to tackle motivation and drive is completely different from most people. (not saying that in a cocky lone wolf kinda way.) What’s really been helping me is narratives and stories and seeing fictional characters on similar journeys with similar mental issues and traits. Some people just have to go about things differently.
@@gt3420honestly i’d get tested for adhd if I were you. adhd isn’t just a hyperactivity thing it’s a lack of dopamine production where you are more likely to procrastinate because your brain will not produce dopamine once you’ve completed a task like it does for most people. I have adhd and the best way i can describe it is that I want to do things but the effort of pushing myself when I won’t get dopamine from it sucks as I don’t feel “good” for having done what I had to do. Ay Shawn as someone Whos been going for almost 2 years abt 5 days a week consistency is the hardest part. But honestly here’s the catch. Some days I’m REALLY not tryna go. The hardest part is heading to the gym. Once you’re there, you’re working up a sweat, 9/10 times you’re happy you went. It’s all abt keeping the workout routines fresh and training what you want to train. If you’re ever getting bored of it I recommend switching rep ranges/ exercises abt every 5-6 weeks. Having a consistent gym buddy helps out too you were spot on with the motivating each other point. Another thing is hold yourself accountable. No matter how busy you are, if you rly want to, you could make time to work out. Especially if you got a lil workout area in your crib.
The key is to find a variation of working out that you genuinely enjoy doing. For example if you don’t like weights maybe try calisthenics, running, boxing, jiu jitsu etc. You are bound to find something you actually enjoy doing.
I understand that alot of people feel quite passionate about fitness and gym culture, but I've never met one who didn't shame and peer pressure me into going with them like it was a non-negotiable for people today. The idea someone could hate the gym and like the way they look seems lost on a majority of them. If you want to work out fella, then think about what you gotta do to get started again, but don't get back into it out of some obligation or cause you feel like you have to. Its a good thing to be happy in yourself.
Aside from the joke I made in chat. I feel you. I worked out consistently through out covid for 2 years and just stopped. Bought all this equipment and never found the motivation to do so again.
i actually think i want to start watching your lives, the vibe you bring to a stream is really specific and calming even when you and chat get into it. youre just cool asf and no bullshit
Bruh I've just learned that motivation comes from doing the thing it doesn't come out of nowhere. You don't get motivation and then you do it, you do it and then you get motivated to do it more. Plus yeah you gotta have a goal to strive for otherwise you're just doing a thing for no reason.
Real talk you just gotta get into a rhythm. Maybe goin with a friend for like a month will get u into that so y’all can kinda force/hype each other to go so you know y’all won’t be slacking. After that u just gotta be motivated to get yo gains up
Ive been going 6 days a week for 2 years and the hardest part is getting to the gym. Once you get there, it's actually rewarding and when you're done your endorphins kick in. It becomes a habit over time.
You don’t have to go the gym you just gotta find some way to move your body. I tried the gym thing and couldn’t last a week. But 3-4x a week I’m on a local trail running, hiking or mountain biking. Recently joined a road cycling club and these old ass yts are whooping my ass😅
I think many people stop because they base their motivation on their progress in the gym. Progress is great in the beginning, given that you know what you're doing. At some point though, you're inevitably going to hit a wall, and progress halts or slows down significantly. At this point, there's really only one driver left: discipline. You might wake up and feel like shit, with no motivation to work out, but thats when you gotta tell your ass to freakin stop thinking about it and just hit the gym. Maybe switch up your training plan, focus on cardio for a while or go for a Calisthenics training. If necessary take a week or two off, nothing wrong with that. But the consistency is gonna translate to everything else in your life, undoubtedly.
For me it was the self-improvement aspect, I was at a point in my life where I was putting toxins in my body, and not doing anything with my life, eating right, and working out was my first step
im wit shawn here like 300% lol. i worked out steady from about 2007 to 2015. was healthy played on some sports teams and recreationally. around 2015 my motivation just dropped off because unlike shawn i was trying to look good for girls and my homies in some ways i guess tbh. but around that time i felt good with how i looked and honestly like i was trying wayyy to hard (im decent tall 6ft and good enough down there so not over comp) but just like it wasn't my normal flow. fast fwd to now, ive stopped since then never picked it back up and i feel good, yes ive put on some weight and you can see it (im 30 now so my metabolism slowed too i think) but im good with how i feel and look. i think i might pick it back up later in life but certain ppl just don't have a desire for the workout/exercise life and that's okay.
im underweight just 5 months ago. i experienced anxiety/panic attack 3 times. the third time was where i almost died because i was dehydrated combine with my severe anxiety that i couldnt breathe and was gasping for air. that was like the last straw for me. i decided to workout atleast once a week. now that im in my 6th month im working out 4 times a week and i feel great. my stress/anxiety was no longer a problem. because i know im healthy af
I workout because it allows me to experience competition and have fun with my ego (I don’t play team sports or deal with business). It’s really just a regular feeling I don’t get to experience based on my circumstance but if I didn’t deal with it somewhere it would exert itself in negative ways like in conversations or something
I'm a skinny nigga with High Blood Pressure, you gotta workout , eat healthy, and not be stressed. Stay blessed everyone! And make sure you exercise consistently!

All of my friends love working out and the favorite parts of their day are working out and for me it’s the opposite but if I miss a day I feel like shit. I wish I was someone who enjoyed it and actually wanted to work out but nonetheless I still do it. Plus worrying about macros is ass
You need a goal. Most people are either insecure or unhealthy or both(or they just want to look good/ sports). After that it becomes a habit. Your probably confident in how your body look as well as no major health issues that force you to go to gym so you dont have that external factor. Pick a reason and run with it health, routine, asthetics, etc.
I had been on and off since maybe my sophomore year of college. I’d go once or twice a week. But. During Co-Vid, specifically lockdown, I had REFUSED to not be active. Started digging in when I lived with my parents. Been going 2 to 5 times a week since 2020. Planning on continuing this for the rest of my days.
You just have to want it more than the circumstances that will inevitably try and impede you. If you don’t, that’s fine Also having a goal helps 😂 If you stay and feel healthy that’s what matters.
Hey man good hearing from you. Before I became a personal trainer and even currently I don’t mind at least 30 minutes I’m doing something dude . niggas be depressed and happy and id say working out can improve a lil sum bro . makes the day feel better sometimes
that moment of when youre about to fall off again, that point is so critical. because if you force yourself to continue on. that is when it will become a habbit and you will eventually WANT to workout. its not even bout motivation its about discipline. Also, yeah you gotta set goals. otherwise theres not end, youre just going through the motions.
Instead of a specific body goal just go for consistency. I’m in the same boat as far as not tryna impress nobody I just do it just bc it’s a good habit and through consistency u get gains anyway so the physical aspect will fall into place as long as u have a consistent mindset
I feel the same way at times its human nature bto drift away from routines and stuff. Because we animals we dont like stuff all the time you just have to put up with especially for self help because once you start slipping. No matter if u want to do something or not it gets harder and u are more likely not to do it. I wish i had home gym because thats the biggest thing for me is making the effort to go over there and be pumped especially if im tired after work
But I enjoy working out even if I'm no where near where I want to be I rip some gas and go hard at times. I never had the body I wanted because genetics and I never made it pass a year fully hitting the gym but I'm trying to get pass that hurdle I always get half way into a year then stop for 4 months and restart
Personally the only gain i get from working out is a peaceful state of mind like i never had "looking good" or "getting bitches" as a main goal when i go to the gym, i just feel positive overall and healthier mentally and physically, although i feel like you can get the same mental result by just doing any other sport not necessarily just lifting weights
7:42 dont fight people u dont know. Especially on street. I'll explain why i dont either personally. 1- i dont trust your ass 2- I've never had a fair fight in my 31 years living 3 - fights especially between men escalate to killing very quickly . The smart and wise thing to do is to avoid as many fights as possible. Unless ur a Warlord or something. Even Bruce Lee said to avoid fights.
Work out to be healthy and to feel good. That should be enough motivation tbh. Starting is the hardest part once you get passed it it will turn into a routine as long as you stay consistent
I think the problem is that people assume working out = gym when really it means any physical activity that’s gets ur body moving, me personally i like to play sports like soccer, basketball, and volleyball, cause i hate having to do gym cardio, i also like weight lifting, he even said it himself, that he has a good time with his friend, just find ppl u like working out with and do that with them, could even start learning a martial art like boxing or jiu jitsu
I go hard for 2 months and then I quit… idk why this happens to me. It happens everytime I just lose motivation bc cooking food, weighing it and being perfect gets exhausting after a while. Anyone have any tips? Thank you
when you go to the gym an train more like an athlete and less like a body builder, youll improve overall quality of life provided you also do mobility training.
Idc what most of these ppl say, you don’t have to like working out or partake in working out in general. As long as you’re healthy and in shape, cool. So many ppl on here pressed about others not wanting their lifestyle, mind your business and focus on YOURSELF.
For me, the hardest part isn’t working out. It’s eating the right amount of food to put on the weight😭 that’s what fucking me up because I genuinely don’t feel like eating as much as I should to pack muscle. That’s doing too much
What i think you need is a sort of motivation or obstacle to overcome, something more stimulating. I would recommend trying to learn calisthenics movements like muscle ups, pistol squats, etc. Or, you should practice a fitness related skill like kickboxing, boxing, rock climbing, tricking, break dancing, etc.
I’m short and skinny. I be too lazy to workout. But I’m 27 & healthy as motherfucker. Just got a physical The other day 😂. When I would try to work out I go for like 2 weeks and then be like “yeah this ain’t for me” lol it’s like something I’m forcing myself to do.
I know this sounds weird but my motivation is the protein shake I drink. When I drink it I workout and if I don’t workout I’ll get fat because of the shake 😂😂😂
Get to the point of making working out a habit. Make it a way of life and forget the results. Results are the testament of continuous accumulated efforts, how you conduct yourself everyday sums up to your result. Set a time that you will always know that is workout time. And even if you go two days, or 3 days, or 1week off, always comeback. Soon enough you will be going out of habit, almost reflexively
What also would help shawn is maybe doing mma. Those guys are crazy ripped and well you become a weapon. Just look up to your certain managa protagonist and push forward would Musashi or guts have your mindset lmao
Dude you seriously need to educate yourself on why exercise in today's society is a must. Your health is not optional, its a priority. Stop looking for motivation, you don't need it to consistently drop videos so stop looking for the motivation to get your health in order. Mike Tyson said, "Discipline is doing the thing you want to do when you don't feel like doing it."
Me too that's just how i feel abou lifting weights, it only feels good at the first couple months but at a certain point it feels like going to a job. I do reccomwnd everyone to work out but not lifting weights just gotta find the type of workout you like the most and you'd be consistent at it, me personally since i have switched to MMA i feel like i just discovered a new drug in this life, i'm addicted to punch and getting punched by niggas and grappling niggas, tossing niggas around and shit. It's great.
you got to fall in love with the workout I love bodybuilding more than I thought I would which lead to me being mad consistent 3 days a week for 2 hours nothing feels better then hitting failure to see the weight of the lift go up to see the improvements. Either way, if you’re only in it to look good find a different way to do it someway that you will love for some people it’s not traditional weights and for others it might be boxing or some other shit.
you should get a dog, ppl think i sound stupid when i say that but a dog really puts you in a position to get up and be more active than you think you are😂 the bond just a bonus.

Hey man good hearing from you. Before I became a personal trainer and even currently I don’t mind at least 30 minutes I’m doing something dude . niggas be depressed and happy and id say working out can improve a lil sum bro . makes the day feel better sometimes
im so sorry i meant to put 10 min at least. shit do 15 min
im sorry but not working out is crazy to me. aside from health theres not a single reason not to go and make the most out of your body
What if you just..don’t want to?
I work out but I think people should live how they see fit.
If you dont want to you just dont want to
@@Sherv_ you dont want to look ur best and use the potential ur body has? sorry but doesnt make sense to me.
I’m fine with them not working out, they can all just stay home. It’s hard enough to get a smith machine at planet fitness as it is.
i want to go to the gym but have no idea how to use the equipment, form etc. I don't want to fuck my back up anymore then it already is
that moment of when youre about to fall off again, that point is so critical. because if you force yourself to continue on. that is when it will become a habbit and you will eventually WANT to workout. its not even bout motivation its about discipline.
Also, yeah you gotta set goals. otherwise theres not end, youre just going through the motions.
Instead of a specific body goal just go for consistency. I’m in the same boat as far as not tryna impress nobody I just do it just bc it’s a good habit and through consistency u get gains anyway so the physical aspect will fall into place as long as u have a consistent mindset
you can’t get mad if you have no goal or aspiration when it comes to ur body, ur literally working out for no reason
Just focus on getting bigger and stronger, you don't need motivation you need discipline
Just having a consistent schedule/ routine helps me. I get that from working out plus you become more attractive
The first month is the hardest but after that it becomes routine
Takes 30 days to form a habit like the saying goes 😄
Its just about discipline
Work out to be healthy and to feel good. That should be enough motivation tbh. Starting is the hardest part once you get passed it it will turn into a routine as long as you stay consistent
I’m addicted to the gym now but at least I don’t drink anymore lol
Thank you
I have the exact same issue.
when you go to the gym an train more like an athlete and less like a body builder, youll improve overall quality of life provided you also do mobility training.
I been lacking too but working out makes your feel good bro
Idc what most of these ppl say, you don’t have to like working out or partake in working out in general. As long as you’re healthy and in shape, cool. So many ppl on here pressed about others not wanting their lifestyle, mind your business and focus on YOURSELF.
working out increases your life span if you want to die old as fuck then work out till the day you cant anymore.
#1 way to get back to gym and turn a new leaf is to blast some beatdown or some deathcore bro trust. Acacia Strain, Spite, Sunami...all audible roids.
I've been slowly picking it back up, so far so good. just wished I had more encouragement.
I know this sounds weird but my motivation is the protein shake I drink. When I drink it I workout and if I don’t workout I’ll get fat because of the shake 😂😂😂
NAH, I HEARD THAT SHIT! "she's hyping me up, I'm piping her up" AIN'T NO WAY THAT WAS A SLIP UP LOL
Stop wanting to do it just do it
That’s just being inconsistent bro, is the same for me. I’ve just realised I’m not consistent enough
Time to workout 💪🏿
You need discipline and goals you shouldn't rely on motivation
Get to the point of making working out a habit. Make it a way of life and forget the results. Results are the testament of continuous accumulated efforts, how you conduct yourself everyday sums up to your result.
Set a time that you will always know that is workout time. And even if you go two days, or 3 days, or 1week off, always comeback.
Soon enough you will be going out of habit, almost reflexively
What also would help shawn is maybe doing mma. Those guys are crazy ripped and well you become a weapon. Just look up to your certain managa protagonist and push forward would Musashi or guts have your mindset lmao
Bro. Just do maintenance. Nothing crazy just 30 minutes a day. Your decade older self with thank you for not sounding like bubble wrap
Dude you seriously need to educate yourself on why exercise in today's society is a must. Your health is not optional, its a priority. Stop looking for motivation, you don't need it to consistently drop videos so stop looking for the motivation to get your health in order. Mike Tyson said, "Discipline is doing the thing you want to do when you don't feel like doing it."
they even got gyms in detroit?
Shawn got that bodybuilder rizz 💀
Workout to stay strong and slow down muscle deterioration in your 40s-50s, you wont be young for ever
Bruh u don’t gotta go to the gym,I go around and bike like 4 miles a day, mostly incline and do that just to get around places and it’s helped me out
You gotta either love working out or have a goal. My goal is to stay fit so when I play sports I stay bullying the opposition
It's great.
225 bench, there’s your goal.
Yo you broke down music the best for me my G respect. I think u better than white body Anthony Fz.
From which song is the sample at 4:17 I can’t figure it out but I know it’s from a song I listen to often
You ain’t see a point in getting stronger?
you got to fall in love with the workout I love bodybuilding more than I thought I would which lead to me being mad consistent 3 days a week for 2 hours nothing feels better then hitting failure to see the weight of the lift go up to see the improvements. Either way, if you’re only in it to look good find a different way to do it someway that you will love for some people it’s not traditional weights and for others it might be boxing or some other shit.
What’s the skincare routine?
I feel ya
Just get up and gym my brudda...
Let's live longer and stay healthy
Shawn even if you feel great rn you’d feel better after working out
I’m 27 like Shawn .. and my b day sept 23 .. I wonder if Shawn is older or younger than me 🤔
Blud think he Tanjiro with all this breathing talk
WHOS GONNA CARRY THE BOATS???? OR THE LOGS
i would start going with a friend who’ll tell you to get off your ass and almost force you to go if you really want to go. that’s what i have
Maybe your goal should be to workout to stay healthy for the longest
Real talk you just got to start as something like treadmill or stretching then you get more in to it for me at least
theres is no reason to not work out
Bro is just like me fr
We just need to bully Shawn for being skinny
what method he use for his locs?
Coils
you should get a dog, ppl think i sound stupid when i say that but a dog really puts you in a position to get up and be more active than you think you are😂 the bond just a bonus.
You gotta make sure you’re home enough tho
Lmao 5:50
Do it for 21 days and u won't stop
Ok
Try yoga by sadhguru
Get your vitamin D levels checked. If they’re low, it can contribute to feeling a lack of motivation.
U should workout j for how good your body & mental would feel
