- Опубликовано: 16 сен 2024
- For our 100th episode of CineFix Movie Lists we decided to take a look back at ALL the movies we've EVER talked about. We counted how many times we picked each movie, even how many times we mentioned them and came up with the 100 movies we've talked about the most. And frankly... we thought 'The Third Man' would be higher!

Why is fight club here. We don’t talk about fight club
Hahaha, was waiting to see when someone would make that comment.
lol, true
Nice joke
Get out
You dont talk, but you just mentioned it..
I feel like this will go underappreciated, but masterful job on the music editing and choices. Really blends well together and fits the movies perfectly.
Guido Anselmi especially the godfather music at the end
no it was fully appreciated :)
I was just about to post this exact comment
Forgetting about this video for a moment I just wanted to thank Cinefix (& especially movie lists) for being IMO the most informative, consistently high quality and captivating movie channel on RUclips. It's been said 1000 times before but in the time of watchmojo and whatculture Cinefix remain an absolute gem and look forward every time I see them put up a new video.
Give this guy a LOVE HEART Cinefix!!
Cinefix is my 1 with whatculture close 2 but I hate watchmojo now
>Monty Python is 69
“Nice”
"I'm not"
@@pillettadoinswartsh4974 you made me revisit this comment after 6 years, and it’s at exactly 69 likes. I might just shed a friggin’ tear.
Jesus Christ this is the ultimate what to watch list. I think we're good, guys
RedShadow The ultimate what to watch movie list was and always will be BFI's Sight and Sound top 100
Anyone who doesn't put The Godfather in top 10 isn't relevant.
I'd put City of God it
Not really. Missing a lot of classics and essentials but a great list nonetheless.
definitely a great list, my top 5 of all time would be in descending order: Cuckoo's nest, river kwai, it's a wonderful life, clockwork orange, good, bad and the ugly
Although the first 20 movies are the “I'm a cinephile” or “I want to study cinema” starter pack, the balance you've had in your lists between accessible and sophisticated is what makes this channel one of the best places to discover cinema, or think of cinema. Even if you sometimes choose popular movies for the views. Keep up the great work guys, you remind us of the beauty of cinema.
Yaaa Right....Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and The Matrix in the top 10, are you kidding me ? Retorical question
dude the list literally says top 100 most talked about movies thats why they are picking these
@Ben Porter do you have any idea what Akira Kurosawa or Jean Luc Godard did for cinema? Because of them we are still using their techniques to this day! Just because you don’t understand their movies does not make them pretentious. Your pretentious for thinking that way though
@Ben Porter I love that you didn't respond to Manic Rhymes, because you knew he was right. :-)
@Ben Porter I guess you're just one of those pricks that goes to the cinema stoned, because otherwise you can't enjoy a movie.
R.I.P the meme about Cinefix's love for the Mirror
I swear I can't believe it didn't win!!! LOL. It's that or Citizen Kane.
It is still the only movie with 3 #1 spots, let the meme continue!!
Top 10 most pointless movies, Top 10 least coherent movies, Top 10 scenes of fires in the rain. There's still so much opportunity for The Mirror on future lists. ;)
Was Hero on here lmao
You can't blame them, it is the greatest film of all time
Here are the number of films of the each director whose more than one movie is on the list:

Kubrick made 2001 which was #5
You are right, thank you. It doesn't change the ranking but I corrected it right away.
Thank you.
As a matter a fact FFCoppola as the first two. I could have had the first 3 ( Godfather II is at 44 witch is a complete joke, Star Wars and The Matrix in the top 10 is also a joke...)
You forgot Orson Welles [Citizen Kane and The Third Man]
#69: Monty Python & The Holy Grail

Not all hero's wear capes
So you've seen all of those movies? I've only seen about 20% of those. I need to watch more
Time to open excel, copy and highlight what I've watched........😀😀😀😀😀
Harrison Jensen Why though?
The Mirror is pretty much the go to film for Cinefix.
Yes it was :D
Same reaction! :P
Some Random Name best action/adventure scene - the mirror.
I was really surprised it wasn’t higher
I am shocked to see Stalker so low...I expected it to be in the top 10 or something..
Glad to see Internal Sunshine of a spotless mind so high.
Tyrone Duck one of, if not my favorite movie right now
Aw yes, I love the inner rays of sunshine on my brain, it’s a shame they’re not eternal
I expected 'In the mood for love' to be way higher.
Jan May As did I!
It should've been
3:45 Is cathartic, that image is so brilliant in contrast to the music.
Classic Francis Ford Coppola taking out the top 2 spots.
Only Coppola sadly he retired
Unfortunately he couldn’t make Masterpieces after the 70s..
Dracula is a masterpiece in my book.
But, yeah he did also make Jack. Somehow.
Yeah, but his 70s are the best decade any director ever had. There are at least 4 masterpieces, 3 of which are in the conversation about the best movie of all time. No other director can say the same about him.
If you are talking about the best directors of all time then Coppola is definitely top 10 material not #1 imo..he wasn’t consistent and there are directors who have made more than 5 Masterpieces..
I just can’t thank you guys enough for all the work you put into creating such thorough analysis and production. I’m so grateful for you guys sticking around for the 100 episodes you’ve done so far.
Most snubbed movie by Cinefix: Memento, with 10 mentions and 0 picks
charlie roberts Yeah and it got like a split second screen time in this video for some reason
It actually got way longer, you just forgot immediately after seeing it...
That's a snub? 10 mentions...what's 1 mention?
It's the Leo DiCaprio of Cinefix
Memento, any nolan movie for that matter, among top 100 movies, bullcrap
Edit- okay it's a list of most talked about movies , fine
Really appreciate Cinefix for their movie lists... I can't believe i've seen 62 of these movies. I'd never even heard of at least 45% of them before I started watching Cinefix lists
calling the mirror as #1
edit: damn didnt expect it to be so low
Markó Mihály I was honestly expecting either No Country for Old Men or The Third Man to take it
yeah those wouldve been my #2 and #3 guesses respectively
The Godfather, unexpected win, but completely deserves it!
It did have the most #1 picks I think.
Agreed and it's truly deserved.
do "ten best unoriginal movies", just movies that take an idea or a formula from somewhere else and develop on it or just do it really well
Ciaran Soden ten best unoriginal movies that aren't adaptations
The Lobster (it was on the list with multiple mentions)
I say it's basically any contemporary young-adult dystopian movie forged into something with much more emphasis on the philosophical and the societal and then for adults. Interestingly I also found this its weakness at the same time since as the movie develops it relies more and more on this subgenre that often gets a whole lot of slack for being immature and unoriginal in the first place (ex.: the Hunger Games) whilst seemingly not paying it any real hommage.
@dom hasey Damn. I love Tarantino (like, all his movies), but I have to say "You're right" - but I think maybe that's the point?
Why would you want such a list? To not watch them? To ridicule them? A movie that's not original in its concept is not automatically a bad movie. Grow up!
Rushav Kumar Panda literally no one said that
a 100 must see movie list
C S Like..??
C S What's wrong with Ghostbusters..?
I though it was a universally beloved film.
Neelima Chandra i don't like that movie
I was like "2001 is #1 for sure" but no surprise, goffather is a supreme film
It's a lot more talked about from the people who saw it in CInerama in 1968. Because it opened the world. Tony Master's production design was probably the greatest special effect of all time. Because it was real. The pod bay, the centrifuge, etc. They had a visceral effect on the audience. And they still do.
Same. And i was shocked when i saw Citizen Cane ,,only'' on 13 spot
Always been a fan of Cinefix Movie Lists. They are more legit than most movie list channels out there (yes You know who I'm referring to) due to the variety of films as well as the diverse and creative approach to these lists as seen with some of my favorite including "Best Dialogue," "Best Villains," "Best Scenes" and "Most Emotional Movies." Congrats on 100 Movie Lists and here's hoping for more Movie Lists to come.
Also, Clint.... you're THE NARRATOR
You guys have seriously created a legacy here. Redefined what a list can do. You entertain, educate, celebrate. You not only share your love of movies with us, you make us love them more. Thanks for everything, and for everything to come.
Mmm...the third man??...Am I right guys??
Vicente Ortega Rubilar spoiler alert. It's the Godfather. It's always the Godfather.
i expected it to be higher. i think it gets mentioned more than the mirror.
What's wrong with The Third Man. That scene where Lime is reaching through the sewer grate to freedom is one of the most haunting in cinema history.
This list was obvious fake because The Third Man wasn't number one
Ha I thought The Third Man too!
I've seen about 76 of the top 100, and all of the top 10 - not bad! 😊 Now I'll have to watch the rest 👍🏻
chboskyy Better than me, I got 66 and nearly swept the top 10, but I haven't seen Apocalypse Now (I will some day, but I don't like war movies)
I've only seen 39. I know what I'm doing this summer!
I'm at 70 right now, and from the remaining 30 I was missing from the watchlist only 6. But my watchlist is 667 movies long...it will take a moment...
I've seen 85 of the top 100, and all of the top 36.
Can someone beat that?
@MrRedacto, Please watch Apocalypse now. It's not a war movie per se. It's a period piece set in a war about the human heart in conflict with itself. It's truly brilliant.
great list! i have only watched like 40 % of the movies mentioned here, still got a long way to go. Your lists have turned me into a movie loving maniac!!
Manohar Muralidhar I'm surprised I've already seen 80 of them.
I'm new to all this, I really started getting into movies about 2 years ago now. Before that I rarely watched movies.
Manohar Muralidhar as someone who has seen 93 movies of the list, i have to say this is an excellent place for movie recommendations. If i were you, i'd start going through it right now!! Then, after you watch most of these movies, maybe your next step could be pick up tour favorites so far, and go after the director's filmography!
Must have lots of free time.
Seen 94 in this list, what I would give to watch some of those for the first time..
You clearly don't talk about 'Clue' enough...
Luckily moviebitches do though, am I right?
flames on the side of my face
okay let's go
I thought movies like Citizen Kane, Fight Club, Mirror, No Country for Old Men and Se7en being in the top 10 because of how much they adore those classics
Great job with the music at the end
shocked to see Synecdoche so low, figured it was mentioned at least a few more times.
Can’t get over how amazing the editing is
Congratulations on 100 episodes, you guys have recommended so many fantastic movies, keep up the good work!
The lack of any animated films is disturbing.
Umbrella Man the lion king is on this list. It's pretty high but it's there, but given how this is just the most mentioned films in their time discussing them its not surprising. There are so many great animated films but people either don't know them very well and thus aren't very good examples to give an audience or potentially struggle to fit into what's being discussed. The medium is fairly young, and hopefully as more people explore it we'll get some more classics worth discussing.
Where is my Finding Nemo?!!!
Kubrick = Best
Singularity Cometh well no, clearly Ford Coppola = Best
Singularity Cometh Agreed!
Also agreed!
Singularity Cometh yes!
Kubrick is overrated af
I _seriously_ find it hard to believe you've only mentioned Clue once in the entire Cinefix run.
I suggest a Clue-centric episode.
"Some like it hot." The best last line in a movie..EVER.
You guys are the amazing!!!!!!!!!! Keep the amazing work up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
please some do some top ten videos for:
1) Musicals
2) Comic Relief Characters
3) Fourth Wall Breaks
4) Franchises
5) Cameos
I 100% expected the top three to be the Mirror, Citizen Kane & The Third Man (none of which I've seen, regrettably, but know pretty much inside out thanks to these lists). But of course it's the Godfather. It's always the Godfather.
@VincentHanna121, The Third Man is absolutely brilliant from a cinematographic, historic, and audio perspective.
Love that Casablanca was so high up :) that's my favorite movie
God, *THIS* is why I love CineFix
This was amazing. From the choice of music to the dramatic pauses in between to the time it probably took you guys to do this. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
for this list to have ended with The Godfather states something that i already knew, preached and lived by: best movie ever made, period.
CineFix Movie Lists were the whole reason I subbed to this channel in the first place. Congrats on 100 of them and I can't wait to keep watching more in the future!
I am appalled by how few movies on this list I've seen. I must fix this immediately.
Also just got my tickets to 2001: A Space Odyssey on 70mm ^^ V happy
PlebeianGoth I'm very jealous
Oh boy 2001. Be prepared to be weirded out and think it's a shit film for a while, and then get blasted into another galaxy of existentialism
lol Already seen it, with a bad fever no less. I know what I'm in for ^^
PlebeianGo It is estimated that that 4,911 people aged 65 and over in West Berkshire are unable to manage at least one mobility activity on their own
I th
Think of it like this, PlebeianGoth, you are in a place we wish we could be: You only get to see movies like this once. When I first saw most of these movies, I didn't know how fun the ride was going to be. I think anticipating the thrill ride is just as good as taking it!
2001 will never get old
Tony Master's production design...those sets..especially in the second half...had a visceral effect on the audience. Along with Trumbull's computer screens...endless stuff to talk about. Even those pilot uniforms on the Pan Am ship...
Can someone give a list of the songs used in this?
Durade- Sandstorm
deltron 3030 I'm calling the cops
It starts with Respighi's "The Pines of Rome" at #100 and uses the theme from "The Godfather" for #1, but I don't know most of the others.
Six Beer Math that'd synthwave mate, no signature hi hats in that track
Six Beer Math Oh boy, no one's ever made this argument before, where are you going to go next with this? I sure hope you tell us just how much better music was back in your day, or even better before you were born! Please give us your ever so wise look at the progression of music in both popular and unpopular forms and enlighten us with your no-doubt vast knowledge.
Forget the list, that music medley was amazing!!!
I would've thought The Empire Strikes Back would have shown up since it's considered the best sequel of all time. I guess it didn't get talked about much.
Its a really popular popcorn flick, but not a work of genius like most entries on this list.
The Godfather II is the greatest sequel of all time. Not just because it's such a great movie in and of itself, but because it pretty much invented 'the sequel.'
whenever you talk about V being the best sequel, you automatically mention IV
Max Marks Empire, a "popcorn flick" lmfao yikes
Max Marks Empire is a more worthy work of genius than A New Hope.
This channel should be more famous than now. All of those top 100 are very good choices.
You know, I remember a time not that long ago when the comments on CineFix were pretty insightful and intelligent, and actual discussion took place. What happened? Nearly all the top comments are low-effort "in-jokes" or stupid one-liners. I'm depressed, because this was one of the last places I could go on RUclips for thoughtful dialogue. Is it my imagination or has RUclips become exponentially dumber over the last year or two?
I think Cinefix has focused less on important movie analysis lately.
less thoughtful content > less thoughtful comments
+Aiden James I've noticed that they focus a lot more on pop-culture films now. It's sad whenever you see a channel head down the populist path.
the music blend with the video as i read the movie title in every number..give me chill lil bit tears
Is there any place to find a text version of the list that we could download to check off?
A imdb list would be cool. I probably have seen about 2/3 of this list.
Somebody should make that
Actually, someone named 'Utku Hasan' commented the whole list just a few comments above yours. I will copy the list just in case you can't find his comment, but all the thanks belong to him. Great guy.

@@Charlio23 Thanks man very useful :)
This could not have been more appropriate for you folks to have such an important acknowledgment.
I’m leaving my country for the first time in 12 hours.
Cinefix, you have bookended such an important time in my life with such a marvelous collection.
Long time fan, first time commenter.
Thank you all so much.
Regards,
Tommy ‘I am terrified of the future’ Swain
Edit*
Moments after this comment I accidentally threw up right by my back door. Honestly, everything was covered. I wiped down my entire back door.
Red wine and chunks everywhere.
Thanks Cinefix for somehow managing to capitalize on something I care about so much, that the last thing I did in my house before I left it forever...... was to vomit in it through appreciation (and drunkenness)
Hahaha “give those a watch and let us know what we’re missing.”
I genuinely love this channel. I wouldn't have anywhere near as much of a love for cinema if it wasn't for cinefix.
In case I don't see you...
Good afternoon, good evening and good night...
Thank you for making this channel,seriously......thank you so much......
Thanks. I refer back to your top 50 like every week and I’m running low on stuff I haven’t seen
P.S. I much prefer this list. Much more coherent

I'm watching all the top250 movies of all time by ImDb just so I can recognize the movies in your lists.
In the beginning I could only recognize popular ones, but after viewing 104 movies so far on the ImDb list, I recognize more and more movies and now I can understand why you put those movies in these "best movie" lists.
Now I love just rewatching your videos and recognizing 80% of movies on every list.
I haven't click a video so fast
Incredible compilation and holy shit you guys actually compiled a list of every movie you’ve mentioned.
You know lord of the rings is the best trilogy ever made when all three of them come up
But it's sad to see Two Towers doesn't get as much attention as the other two. It's the best of the 3.
Congrats for your 100th video!
Paths of glory, the pianist, sabatoge, rope, mean streets, dunkirk, amélie, pickpocket, solaris, Ivans childhood are missing. 😥😖
It's not a list of favorites, it's a list of wich movies they've talked the most about. Check the Honour section, you will probably find all those movies there.
not in the least bit surprised about your number 1 haha this is my favorite channel! more videos to come for you guys!
Please does someone know the music which started at 2:55 please ? (#40 to #31) Sorry for my bad English
Yohann Perez I would also like to know.
Me too

"I read. I order books from the States. I literally go into bookstores, close my eyes, and take things off the shelf. If I don't like the book after a bit, I don't finish it. But I like to be surprised. "The expansion of your perception will be your greatest endeavor if you want to become a filmmaker .:) God bless the man
Was expecting mirror in top 10, since u guys mention mirror like in every other video. Nevertheless, it had three #1s, I suppose more than any other movie in the list. Great list btw.
It's good to see The Fellowship ranking above the other two in the Trilogy. To this day I vividly remember how real it felt to me when I first saw the Movie, and it was as if Jackson had opened a window to my mind and the fabulous world that Tolkien's writing had given birth to therein.
79 out of 100. Pretty happy with myself!
Mihail Tsvetkov As you should be, daaaamn.
I Got 58. Was pretty smug about it, but daaaamn
This was kind of heart warming. It made me smile.
Displaying the stats at the top left and the name at the bottom center is bad design; if you're curious about the stats you spend the entire video just moving your eyes back and forth between the two text areas with no time for the picture.
Most underrated channel I know. Really great work guys on all videos.
I haven't stopped to count, but I'm guessing that I've seen somewhere between 90-95% of the listed films. Interesting mix of the old and new, although (unless I'm didn't notice or am forgetting one that I saw) I didn't see a single film by Truffaut, Malle, Rossellini, Jarman, Fassbinder, Godard, or Chaplin on the Top 100 list. But you guys really like to talk about LOTR, don't you? ;-)
Jarman is an interesting mention in that list.
First RUclips comment ever, just to say thank you to CineFix. Your channel is simply brilliant, and long may it continue.
to the person who had to count and tally this: thank you.
CONGRATS!! I love your lists!!
Is it weird of me to think that after watching this list, I feel oddly desirous to have every single movie mentioned - yes, even the honorable mentions - on Blu-Ray, right now?
Not at all, friend.
Not at all
TheMadsFreak, Excellent! I shall start on my collection right away, then, and update this comment thread as I progress. :)
That would actually be pretty cool if you did
TheMadsFreak, it would be my honor to do so, then. :)
Great video. One coul say those choices are obvious, but on the other hand those are classics.
I love your work. Thank you. Keep going.
Waiting for another hundred ;)
Eternal Sunshine
Congratulations guys!! 100 lists
2:55 - 3:30 I need the name of the music

Yessss!!! Somebody appreciate casablanca as much as i do!!!!! When it came out at number six i just scream with excitement :D
was this kind of emotional for anyone else?
Yes, weirdly
When they showed that shot of Casablanca with the music
Yes i am. I love watching the evolution and history of cinema throughout the years.
Bruh. I've seen 78 of these. Like a lifetime of movies... yeah. Now I have to seen the other 22.
I love Cinefix. It always makes me happy to see a new video coming from this channel. The thing I will always be thankful for is just how many movies I've discovered thanks to Cinefix.
So, thank you. Much love for you, and for the movies.
You can do a hell of a lot worse from a hell of a lot of other "authoritative" sources for a top 100 list. Will recommend this list to anyone and everyone.
every episodes of movie lists adds a goddamn movie to my bucket list
Where can I download this list???
A guy named 'Utku Hasan' commented the whole list just a few comments above yours. I will copy the list just in case you can't find his comment, but all the thanks belong to him. Great guy.

Thanks again to Utku Hasan, i just copied the list from his comment to make sure as many people as possible can find it.
I love your lists. Everytime I watch one, I feel like it reignites my passion for movies like I had when I was young. The thing is, I never really lost that passion to begin with, but you still manage to do it. I don't know if that makes sense or if I there are better words to convey that feeling, but it's the best i've got.
Thank you for being not only one of the best film channels on RUclips, but one of the best channels period, and thank you for your wonderful content and all the work you put in. Congratulations on list #100! Now onward to at least 100 more. I'll certainly be watching :)
2001 a space odyssey is the most talked about movie of all time. critics , movie lovers and scholars are discussing this movie for decades along with kubrick's another masterpiece the shining. 2001 is not just a most discussed but the greatest movie ever made . 2001 is a piece of an art . film making is an art and kubrick is the greatest artist of all time .he was a genius. his movies are most discussed movies of all time. Like a painting everyone would find something different from his movie a different meaning or different metaphor or a hidden theme.
Is not the most talked, but is the top 5.
Thank you for the last 100 movie lists. Looking forward to the next 100.
Predictions:
Third Man
Seven Samuri
Lost In Translation
That trilogy about daytime
The one where the Asian couple stare at each other
Dude, the mirror was the first movie popped into my head.

7.Goodfellas
6.No Country for Old Men

Hanniffy Dinn the best movies actually are from the 60s. See: Sergio Leone, Stanley Kubrick.
tommihommi1 oh for sure I was not born then so saw these 60s movies in the 80s as s kid, I felt they were 70s movies... 👍👍👍👏😎
I watch a lot of movies, but you guys keep giving me new ones to watch. Keep it up & keep me learning. Thank you.
The Room?
This is a great six minute reference video for where to start if someone wants to get more into “film”, both new and old. Through in some Aronofsky, Wright, Villeneuve and boom, you are on your way. Hell, there are too many on this list I still haven’t gotten around to yet. Great video!
The Matrix is way to high.
Sanders Noblitt that's just how good it is
About 92 spots to high.
Happy Anniversary, Cinefix. We love you ❤️
