this was my childhood game. i never had a ps2 since my dad got the ps3 day one, and man ppl really need to stop exaggerating. homecourt was a great game, and ive gone back to play v3 and i didnt have as much fun as i did homecourt. i think that oldheads have this idea that the 7th gen killed everything so no good games came out of it and people arent allowed to be nostalgic over it, cause every time i talk about preferring a game that came out on ps3 over ps2, (gran turismo 5 prologue over gran turismo 4, raging blast 2 over tenkaichi 3, etc.) ppl get defensive over their holy console of choice and start talking about how good games were in their day
That is weird looking back at it. They should’ve implemented the crowd more into the game it would’ve felt more live like a big streetball event. They made it look like when you been hoopin all day and it’s 3-4 dudes left just watching till they gotta go home and get rest for work and get something to eat or go to they business the next day. Lol 😂 Or when you go to the court early as hell in the morning and it’s only like 3-4 dudes just chilling on the bench lol.
A certain supervillain once said, "It's about PRESENTATION." I felt that section about the commentator in my soul. Vol 2 and V3 are usually remembered fondly because of Bobbito. But looking at Homecourt, I don't think games past V3 were as bad as many claim. In fact, maybe their biggest crimes aside from being less colorful (like later versions of FIFA Street, SSX, and NFL Street--I think that last one was NFL Tour) was that they didn't feel CLOSE ENOUGH to the originals or build up what was in Vol 2. Heck, I think if Homecourt was a fusion of Vol 2 and V3, we'd be on NBA Street Vol. 7 in 2023 I'm sure. And with EA BIG shut down, unless some of the devs are around, or unless there are aspiring game devs who can create things similar to them, we're probably never going to see that dream come true. I think most NBA Street fans in general were just "not ready" for NBA Street to take such an extreme leap from the original trilogy. Not in the fashion of Homecourt. (Also no one talks about Showdown, which is basically Vol 2 on PSP)
Yeah Bobbito helped add enthusiasm to the Street games. Taking him out of Homecourt was a huge mistake. Hopefully we’ll see a new street game in the future!

Homecourt was boring as fuck,they took out most of the “street” and just left us with the Nba. I could be totally wrong since i havent played this game since 07 but i believe there were no street legends in this game,the soundtrack was garbage as hell,wait did homecourt even have a soundtrack?
The voice actor was actually one of the bright spots of this game. It’s street ball, not super Mario basketball. He brings a street feel to the game.

Bobito being in the street games gave it more life than what it had in the first one. If they kept him in homecourt, it would’ve been golden!

Homecourt is ok. But I feel the main issue that people had with it was what they call "a lack of personality and charm" you know?
Another thing that got downgraded in homecourt was the crowd, look at vol 1-3………then look at homecourt, bro they literally disappeared over night 😂

NBA Street Homecourt was still fun to me tho. But it definitely could’ve been better.

I love Homecourt. Also, this also introduces the WNBA stars and you have free dlc courts on 360. Oh and don't forget NBA Street Showdown on PSP
