hi zo 🤗 thank you for sharing another reality of homesteading. we need to see this. the quails were specifically meat birds. you've had those hens for years - definitely pet birds who gave you crates of eggs during that time. I see your progress outside for the move. can't wait to see the new garden and homestead. tfs
Sad indeed. I can totally understand. I agree, animals do well with others around, not alone. Humans as well, however, so many because of trauma choose to be alone. Hope that this last chicken holds out. Is she still laying?
@@zoshomestead aww… how did you properly dispose her body? (Or are you planning to eat her?) I am just curious so I will know what to do when the time comes for mine…

Yes. She’s still laying eggs. I might have someone willing to take her in. They supposed to get with me later today 👍🏽
Aww so sorry about your loss. But you need to get her another chicken they need a companion. chickens are flock animals need friends.
Yeah. I know. Unfortunately I’m not able to as of now. Attempting to find someone who has chickens to take her in but thats not working as planned
I am so sorry! 😢
The other hen does need a companion. She may die from loneliness….
Thanks. I know
When you move, will you still be able to have any animals?
Will you still grow food?
Yes. I’ll still grow food and have animals. It will be a 15 hour drive
@@zoshomestead Oh, okay! Good...
😟oh no
Yup
Only have my dogs now
Miss all the animals
Btw did you give her a burial?
Couldn’t bury. Too much wildlife passes through my yard. Chicken hawks even know. They were flying over
