I think a lot of people missed the point of Steppenwolf's seemingly untroubled acquisition of the mother boxes. He is a supernatural being, a calamity. Outside of a few anomalies, even the best of humans cannot compete with this level of power, just as they can't stop lightning, volcanic eruptions and tsunamis. They can only do their best, and hope for the best. And for humans to have a chance at stopping beings of his caliber, nothing but the utmost sacrifices would be needed. All of the on-screen deaths are infinitesimal in the grand scheme of things, but it is what it should be.
Just like the battle against Thanos in Infinity War. The Avengers and Guardians gave everything they had, but even then it was for nothing, Thanos was truly inevitable
It's amazing how a change of whole design, color, edit can alter the intimidation of a villain. This Steppenwolf really gives that sense of fear and intimidation. The original one was such a bad design and fake.
@Luna Lux It seems like a mix of specularity (which looks more metallic as you get closer to white) and iridescence (which is also present in certain shaders on 3D engines) because it changes colour at points depending on how the light shines on it.

Sadly still. Zack would still need to cut a lot the dramatic paces like the longer slow mo at some scenes. The slow mo is good but some of his slow-mo scenes in this movie filmed like 3,8/4 of the movement instead of 3/4. Joss Whedon’s sin was that he sped it out and still cut half of the movement that most of the times we just don’t get where it leads
Amazons' strength seems to be very inconsistent. Earlier two women were able to hold stone barrier on their shoulders for a brief moment which is crazy heavy, it probably weights more than ten tons. Sending arrow flying with some box attached to it with a length of rope would also require a powerful bow and a pair of arms capable of pulling such a hard string. And then one of them gets pinned by the horse that weights between 500 to 800 kilograms, but she'd probably have to move like 200-300 kg of its mass to break free, which shouldn't be a problem in a life-threatening situation.

A super-massive horse needs to be insanely strong to run very fast. If Zeus created normal-weight horse that is even slightly (for demi-god super-hero movie let's say ten times) faster, it would be more likely to outrun the threat and be way easier to get out from under if things don't go as planned.

Themyscira is a pretty small island, and the Amazons can run/jump anywhere, so why would they need super heavy horses in the first place? I remember that Diana's was called Jumpa, they even made a Heroclix figurine of them, but other than that...) from the old days that they would ride for competitions and stuff like that. Anyway, I was just wondering where in the DCEU it was stated, or even implied, that the Amazons' horses were different from regular ones... I don't recall it, but then again I've only watched "Wonder Woman" once, and I've always meant to rewatch it but with all the new stuff coming out it's not easy to watch everything several times.
