Thank you!!! Transition skating was always fun for me, street type skating that was my absolute weakest form of skateboarding. I'm glad to be back at it and to have the ability to do both and to just be having so much fun now.
Thanks! The park is pretty fun and has good flow to it, was very surprised given how small it is. I was debating trying blunts to see if I could still get them and after 20 plus attempts I snapped that one. Super excited and ready for more progress in both transition and street.
@@OldBrokenSkater yeah it definitely helps with confidence. I've given up rushing old tricks I find sketchy, in a few weeks they won't seem so daunting so I'm thinking about easing into it.
@padawandy exactly!!! A more relaxed approach over time will help us get there without the sketchy things that lead to hard slams. Far more rewarding doing things that way than forcing them.
🤷 skate legs are making a slow comeback 😂 Thanks man!!! Thats my one pony show, so many things to try and remember how to do and learn. Frontside everything and some of them smith grinds (I know a guy couch cough). We definitely should meet up this is my email oldbrokenskater@gmail.com hit me up and we can text or something.
Dude you’re really good. The whole time I’m thinking where the heck are the pads he ordered. Then I realized you hadn’t gotten them at this point yet. 😮
Thanks!!! I felt as though transition skating would come back a bit easier than street skating. Still so much to learn and relearn, couldn't commit to slash grinds or frontside anything on transitions. This was the session that made me buy pads, especially knee pads, which I then got the 187's you thankfully recommended. I'm a few days behind on my posting; coaching kids' baseball 3-4 days a week has been quite the endeavor.🫠 Only 2 more weeks and baseball is over.🥳 More skate time!!
Just went to my first skatepark last week as a beginner there wasn't anything there I could ride so I just practiced my Ollies at the bottom of the bowl, no one was there so I guess thats ok!
Empty parks are the best, zero pressure or crowds. Slowly start rocking back and forth in the bowl, feeling out transition skating. Its so good for overall "cardio" work. Once you get comfy find a flat bank and start practicing dropping in or feeling out drop ins. Takes quite some time to understand transitions but super fun to just cruise. Also with pads way more fun and somewhat forgiving.
Cool video 😎
Many thanks!! Glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely killing it, you were clearly a high standard back in the day. Best one yet 👊

@@OldBrokenSkater always nice to land a trick after x amount attempts 😁
I really wanted to go all the way back in, but just couldn't commit. Hopefully with my new helmet and pads it add a small amount of confidence.

@@OldBrokenSkater man I can’t wait to see how you’ll destroy that park in the next couple weeks.
Hopefully the knees stay intact...fingers crossed. Having lots of fun, though, just getting back at all of this.
