- Björn Andrésen is a Swedish actor, best known for playing Tadzio in Luchino Visconti's 1971 film A Death in Venice. I made this video to pay homage to him, because, well... someone has to!
(Sorry about the quality of some of the clips. I recorded some of them myself with my cell phone!)
Movies:
Den enfaldige mördaren (1982)
Gräsänklingar (1982)
Det var då... (1989)
Lucifer Sensommer - gult og sort (1990)
Agnes Cecilia - En sällsam historia (1991)
Rederiet (1994)
Graven (2005)

Why is everyone so obsessed with him as a kid have you SEEN him as an adult? He's so beautiful
Yess! He is soo beautiful and handsome as an adult
Bjorn andersen is the inspiration of angelic boy beauty in mangas. The people destroyed him. Ever since the movie Death in veince 1971.
Could u explain, when u said "the people destroyed him" plz
Why?

@@bbtboyMN I would like to, but it's impossible to watch anywhere.
@@beartalan It's everywhere. Also just noting, the underage female actresses suffered a lot more and went through much extreme exploitations than the males of that era- filmed within mainly the countries of Italy and France, also the USA- just to note one fact that I've found to be kept implicit from the industry somehow.
Like he said " i'm a musician at heart " i'm glad to hear that ! he is a musician who is not only beautiful in appearance, but even his soul is as beautiful as that pure beauty .may god bless him❤❤❤❤
Yes I'm very glad to hear

he is so pretty
He looked like a Renaissance Angel in a painting...especially at age 14...Death in Venice..

never heard of him until something dropped in my recs. apparently the viral marketing around death in venice made an imprint on japanese people of that time, that his likening is the basis for handsome guys in manga. seems ultimately not worth it, now i cant look at manga the same way knowing the shit hes been through
Well, you can look at it in another way, he does love living in Japan, probably cause he gets to do lots of stuff there like singing

Same bruh im doing bare research rn cuz im so curious
@@au7407 omg tell me when u find something
@@koshieeka ah shi im so late at replying cuz of youtube but what i found out is that hes still alive, hes trying to find his purpose in life, he was heavily sexualised and objectified by people in hollywood, forced to be with old men in gay clubs and had roles in such inappropriate movies not suitable for his age, in conclusion he had such a depressing life. Also in japan he was seen as a popstar and sang and also inspired a lot of characters in animes but was only seen for his looks more than himself :(
What happen to him?

Attractive in a weird kind of way. People make too big of a deal about him for the wrong reasons. He was perfect in the role he played in Death in Venice but throughout the film there is a sense that he is being used (Visconti's plaything).
weebs are coming
@@angelofdeath275 I hear that weebs know they're disliked by some people but they don't care a rat's tail because they know they're sugoi (awesome). True?
@@rr7firefly pretty much. most have little to no understanding of the cultural contexts and criticisms behind sone anime, or are just vapid and only care about how pretty it looks. anime can be a very powerful art medium, but unfortunately that can be overlooked because the loudest insecure fans color everyone’s perception
@@angelofdeath275 Yes, you bring up a universal truth: the loudest (and often most insecure) people get lots of attention, so they sway the larger group's thoughts and opinions. Subtle messaging requires a lot more intelligence and a body of experience.
And did you watch Björn in "Death in Venice"? He made an electrifying impression on everyone in this film, in fact, even so many years after the premiere, he is just as delightful in this film. And he was 15 there. People compared him to an angel, and the American film historian Lawrence J. Quirk in his book "Great Romantic Movies" even said that all of Björn Andrésen's shots could be framed and hung on the walls of the Louvre and the Vatican. Even now, 50 years after the premiere of "DiV", people still remember and talk about him. The more so because this year at the Sundance Film Festival, a documentary about him was shown - "The Most Beautiful Boy in the World". In it, Björn told (he had talked about it many times before) about the abuse the director had committed against him. As after the premiere of the film, he was constantly questioned (or even accused) by the press and crazy fans about whether he was gay (not that being gay was bad, but because of the film's director - Luchino Visconti, Björn had a bad experience with them). He was even accused of the murder of his alleged American lover, which turned out to be an outright lie. On the other hand, people did not want to leave him alone and waited for his next films, but once he played in one, he was called inauthentic in a given role and generally accused of being too beautiful for the roles. At the same time, you could say that all over Sweden he was expected to repeat his great success with "DiV", but he got depressed and preferred to step back for a while and focus on music. Even the trip (an escape) to Japan right after the premiere, did not help him, because he was also very popular there (he still has many fans there though). The role of Tadzio in his only second film in his career made him an international / world star, made him a living legend, but his beauty turned against him. How was he supposed to play in other films, if everyone still saw Tadzio in him? Things changed a bit as he grew up more, but his career was no longer what it could have been. As for the abuses by the director, he never answered for them. Many people are saddened by what happened to him, how his life and career turned out after the premiere of "DiV". There were also "normal" fans on his side who wished him the best in both his personal life and his career. That's why it was so sad and heartbreaking when it wasn't until the Internet became widely available, that people from all over the world really found out why his career stopped and he disappeared from public life for some time, appearing only from time to time in some Swedish movies and TV series. So forgive me, but people did a big of deal about him for a reason.

Interesting to see this - when I saw Death in Venice, I had never felt so 'blue' in all my life. I did read many years ago that Bjorn was a suspect in a murder case when he was 30 years old, but it was never proven and the case was dropped. I can't remember the details now.
You are fliping!!
@QwQ - yes, I decided to keep the old videos up for posterity sake, so more for historical interest than anything else really.
Yes, there was such a suspicion of him, but it was due to rumors and speculation about his sexual orientation. In 1976, it was suggested that he was involved in the murder of Sal Mineo, an American actor with whom he was reported to have had an affair. The news quickly turned out to be a rumor. It really was, and still is, sick. How people tried to prove or convince him that he was homosexual (not that there was anything wrong with being gay, but Björn Andrésen made it clear that he was not gay, and he had quite bad experiences about it). I really feel sorry for him ;( What he had to go through... :/
@Nargish Khanam Yeah, I've been through this too. I couldn't stop thinking about him, wondering why he hadn't starred in some other good and widely available movies, so that I could continue to admire him and watch his acting develop... Yes, there is very little information on the Wiki about him. Maybe it will help you.

che brutto film
Che brutto non mi piace non è un attore e una comparsa ok
a common swedish boy...he is not that special ...u see those boys everywhere...dont understand the obsession
No..not common..at all..
You’re right in some respects, but the reason for me why he looked so attractive in the film 'Death in Venice' was the make-up that he had done for the film and the arrangement/style of his hair and most significantly, the choice of Mahler's music for the film which was a major part in bringing out the sense of desire and longing that the film portrayed. Without these things Bjorn wouldn't have come across anywhere near the desirable object that was intended to be portrayed in the film.
Él seguirá siendo guapo, mientras tú no!
@@showmoke Yeah, the makeup. If you look at photos of him outside of the movie, he honestly looks pretty average. I was kind of disappointed.
