I think I am set on 1:400. Of course I like big, and I do have several 1:200 models but they are just too big to collect regularly. The detail is awesome and amazing because they're bigger planes, but I have no room to display them. At least not till I can maybe get wall stands and mount them from there or even suspend them from the ceiling so they look like they are really flying. I am even running out of room for 1:400's but they are at least the largest hands-friendly models out there that still look highly highly realistic and are finely detailed. But they can be quite hard to find in some airlines. My gripe with the 1:500 scale is that while it's a scale I will definitely get, the landing gear just breaks too easily. And there for reason aren't any places that do repairs on diecast model planes. And of course 1:600 is just entirely too small to appreciate, period. 1:400 is that Goldilocks spot, just right. Not too big, not too small. I am so thankful for my collection since when I actually go to the airport to air-spot or catch a flight, when I see the planes, it is like I am looking at life-size versions of my model planes. :) The detail, precision, accuracy, and realism of Gemini, Phoenix, JC Wings is just unmatched. It makes me giddy when my planes look like shrunk down versions of the real things and not like toys. And of course, metal, like a real plane. No cheap plastic.
I think 1:300 would be the real 'Goldilocks' scale, unfortunately no manufacturer has really tried it. Narrow bodies in 1:400 are just too toy-like whilst widebodies in 1:200 too big and heavy!
@@carlmichael5592 ^ Well, I have been collecting more widebodies than smaller planes. 1:300 is just not realistic since it is just not a widely used scale and any models are probably incredibly difficult to find. My interests are in finding models that are comfortable enough to hold in my hand but not too small that detail has to suffer. That is why right now, 1:400 is the perfect fit for me.
I'm sorry for bothering you with such trivial question, not great with scale, I model and collect in 1/144 scale. how does a 1/200 scale compare size wise against the 1/144 scale does it look out of place? theses are 3D printed if that matters at all. thank you for your reply. respectfully, Brian Grant
If u want a plane that is not too small and keeps some detail, 1:500 is for you, if u want more details while not being too large then 1:400 or anything above
When i was younger i collected 1:500 but i want 1:400 but i already have 10x 1:500 and an AirPort pit i dont know what to Do whit them can you guys give tips
More 500 scale manufacturers: Hogan Lysia Big-bird EverRise F-toys Etc. A few have gone out of business or been bought out but some of their models are still available on ebay.
I like the 1/200. I think you made it a rare one
1/200 is amazing but too expensive for me😅

Hi! Yeah it does look a bit out of place. The 1/144 is much bigger
Hi! Yeah it does look a bit out of place. The 1/144 is much bigger
I want yo get 1/400 models bit I'm from Colombia and it's more easy to get the recongized brands ( Gemini Jets,Phoenix,Aviación 400...etc )
1:500 was also once produced by star jets and big bird 500, both diecast and both nice options
wish they still in business today to compete with Herpa. Man Star jets destroyed herpa in the 2000s.
Amazing! I think I love 1/500!
1/500 sucks don’t waste your money
Nothing is wrong with 1:500. Very very minor differences between 500 and 400 scale.
@@sliferxxxx true, i like smaller planes because my house is not very big so yeah
Thanks! Now I know which scale I chose before😅

your 1000th sub congrats!
i saw the 1/200 cardboard a330 today but the real one with the same registration
Would you say a airport with both 1/400 and 1/500 still looks realistic?
Yes but it depends how much of how much of each u have 1:500 is less common so I would recommend 1:400
What happens if you get broken models from The Airline Shop or the Aircraft Store
You can contact them to get a replacement
That Herpa Azores A321neo has a weird nose. Gemini200 is much better but also much pricier
Umm 500 scale manufacturers:
Herpa
Starjets
Inflight500
Sky500
Aero500 aka Aeroclassics
Net Models
Phoenix
JC Wings
Hogan
Out of all the model makers which ones are the best looking with detail and quality?
NG models

I would try to sell them. Not gonna lie, 1:400 is a bit better in my opinion 😉 you got many more options in brands.
@@swiss4009 when u make vids again?
Where do you buy your models?
With the 1/500 in Plastic is a rare thing, I have 74 Herpa planes and just 3 Plastic ones
Nice video👍🏼
There is also panda models and Aviation400 (1:400)
1:400 i think is the best it’s not to expensive and there are a lot more accessories
More 500 scale manufacturers:
Hogan
Lysia
Big-bird
EverRise
F-toys

i Subscribed and turned on the bell

Insta: joelschobairport hahah neii wer bisch denn du???🤔🤔😂😂😂
Swiss 400 😂😂😂😂😂
So, which scale you would recommend for begineer?
1:400. So many options and not too expensive:)
Is Diecast Airplane Store good?
Yes
there's a range of snap-fit 1/200 plastic ones from Herpa that cost 20 euros.
1:400 is the best scale in my opinion.
Star jets have 1:500 scale
i only have a few diecast models
What’s the best scale to build an airport???
1:400. It has the most pieces and planes you can buy. It is also the only size normal 3d printers can print out for
Well i would mostly like the 1:400 but if i get the 1:400 airport too i dont Think it Can fit in my room😢
How good is PPC Holland models
I don't know 😅
do phoenix and ngmodel also have 1:200 scale?
Ng does, not phoenix
1:200 can also be quite cheap if they are plastic
Very good video
6:28 30-70$? naaaah. the concorde costs 100$
I bought a 1:400 model of 777 200 in eztoys that only cost 32 dollars lol
My 1/200 model was 58 $ in amazon
do you know a site for romania
is Daron planes 1:500?
Thanks
What is the largest scale?
Most probably 1:100
Mainly 1/200 but you can get some 1/100 and 1/72 scale models
Largest I found was a sell from miniatur Wunderland hamburg... an old model in 1:87 but that's the only one I've ever found
Large if it is an A330 or something if it's just a cessna 1:72 is way bigger
Anything you want, largest is a 1:3 emirates a380 in London
Herpa wings have 1:600
No, mainly 1:500
No they haven't...
What 1:300?
