This song , and the album silk degrees, was the final nail in the coffin of disco. Proved that music could be so sophisticated and popular at the same time.
Michael McLoughlin I'll never forget this song blasting in my car on the Williamsburg bridge. I was with my girlfriend & 2 teenagers from the projects (my girlfriends neighbors). coming back from a day at Rockaway beach out in Queens. I was 26 then Annie was 28. Time Flies.
Thanks for this from New Zealand. X. My first ever concert 1976, fell in love with Will. Only after James Reyne 1st act. Yehaa first time I smelt Marijuana. Sssssss
This is a good performance. Some of the other videos on youtube don't have the right feel. This one does. Sounds like they took the record feed off the board, so it's Vocal & Keyboard heavy; but I'm sure it sounded great in person.
Only future Toto member Mike Porcaro is in this he came in late 1981. This is while Toto was on tour for their first album And that Bless the rains not miss the rains.
Daaaamn!! Can you hear the piano, sound engineer? 😆 I mean, amazing pianist, amazing song, Boz is the boss!, great times, but come on… A little more on the mics of the piano?
@@slydogmania check again my friend..... I was a part of that band before the concert in this video in 1980 with Carlos, Mike, Randy,...we did a TV show called "Fridays" on ABC & made 3 videos..JoJo, Breakdown Dead Ahead & You Can Have me Anytime..They are linked to my youtube channel... Scott Plunket & Bruce Bollinger in this video joined later..... ......I'll send this link to Bruce just so he can see it. Both Carlos & Mike P have passed since..... my dear friends....IN 1978 the band had a different lineup!
@@slydogmania I'm sure Boz was there in 1978....played Lido of course but different band.... These people are my family ...jsut sayin..... :-) Good on you for posting & digging it of course🤗
I remember going to a bar in the '90s in SF that was supposedly owned by Boz Scaggs. It was a hoppin' place with cute guys but I had difficulty hearing people in there because the music was too loud and there wasn't any dancing so you had to talk or just stand around.
Boz is great, and Lido is a fantastic song, but without Jeff Porcaro on the drums it's just not Lido. If you look up the word groove in a dictionary you'll see a picture of Jeff
Summer 1977. We had this blasting on every radio
Blizzard of 78 I was 8, now 53..this song holds the best year's of my life.i always thought it was LEO.
I was 11, Ohio was closed a month, this song was everywhere. Good times as a kid.
What Blizzard ?? 😂 one of our warmest years here in Australia remember it well !! 😅😊
Leo Sayer are you kidding?
We are the same age and I thought the same thing! Lep!
I actually thought he said Leo to until I saw the lyrics 🤣

One of my favorite keyboard solos ever. Love it.
I got to find this Lido guy and hang out with him, even if we're hitting juke joint bars in tombstone cars. He sounds like a blast. Let 'em roll!
Lido is Boz's brother
@@themoonchannel6294 Give me a break!
How could anyone not like boz.

I think hanging out with Lido and Jojo would be a blast.
Somebody Loan Me A Dime
Don't forget Georgia! :)
Their names are Boz and Jeff

What a super cool and Funky,R&B Boz Scaggs song !!!Mr Dilly.. approved 👍🎸😎♥️
This is FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great song! Love BOZ! 🙌
I love this song!! Listening to this song Lido makes me reminisce of the good ol days 🫶
Yet not one comment on the piano!

Legend Boz
my Irish twin brother. Your sister loves you. best years of our lives.
Jeff Porcaro the best drummer ever of all times!!!!what a legend R.I.P.
Jeff is great 👍, but this is not him.
@@gordoh7634 Indeed. One Carlos Vega on the kit. Another one lost much too soon...
Pretty snappy backing band, most of who were missing the rains down in Africa. three years later.
Only future Toto member Mike Porcaro is in this he came in late 1981.

And that Bless the rains not miss the rains.
While I can't see them very well here that doesn't sound like jeff at all or steve or paitch
@@Diesel0807 it doesn’t look like Jeff either.
I thought it was Mike R.I.P
Boz performed with Steve Miller, check out Sailor and Children Of The Future.
Yeah they played together in a band back in the 60's.

I live this but I appreciate the chords and progression.
Very Elton-esque there on this version with piano...!!
David Paich, who wrote this song, was/is a big fan of Elton John.
I don't care for the piano being so out front here. Overpowers everything--but could just be how it was recorded/mixed
Carlos Vega on drums... RIP 'Los...
It's Jeff on drums
@@themoonchannel6294 No it’s Carlos.
This is 1978 last tour Jeff did with Boz was 1977.
Yep deF Carlos Vega . Rip . Saw him a couple times with James Taylor. Great drummer
Sorry y'all....this was the 1980 Band after Middle man album...Carlos Vega & Randy Kerber .....
This was definitely March 1978 when Boz Scaggs toured down under, and epic shows still talked about today.

Hey David , Carlos Vega was a amazing drummer , would be great to see some old hidden video's of you guys!
Cool Thanks , Pisco
Mike Porcaro on bass in this.
Listen to that 🎹 and synth
Is Jeff Porcaro on drums on this take?
yes I think so
"Making like a b-line, heading for border, like going for broke" ❤
Piano mixed NICE AND LOUD for once in a rock band!
Is that the late Carlos Vega?
Does look like him.
I remember going to a bar in the '90s in SF that was supposedly owned by Boz Scaggs. It was a hoppin' place with cute guys but I had difficulty hearing people in there because the music was too loud and there wasn't any dancing so you had to talk or just stand around.
Stardust - Lido Show, 1980
That piano is on 11
Carlos Vega RIP

Have to agree. Knew it wasn’t Porcaro right from the get go. He was something special
Here we go again, Lido is his brother's name, and this song is called Lido Shuffle, about his brother, Lido
Looks more like 88 than 78
Always something thank goodness the Lord made me tough. Amen
Get a dictionary and look up the word "Cool"..youll see a pic of Boz
Studio act.
It's a soundboard recording
Piano not nearly loud enough
Pianos are never mixed loud enough - at last, this guy gets the business!
PORCARO
who are the other musicians on stage
(piano is killing it)
The only ones I can really see are Mike Porcaro on bass and Carlos Vega on drums.
I could do without the backup vocals overtaking the song. The piano turned it into a bluegrass song. Not a great mix of a great song.
