Nice video Jared - I agree it's one of the best fish catchers of all my plastics. I rotate between full size and mid-size. That mid-size is that great (all seasons) that it's a rare occasion when I pull out the 6"'er, maybe either when the bite is already real good and when I've got some time to seek out a kicker fish.
yup, good tips, esp the recommended hook - agreed! i also try to run that hook as far back on the body as possible -- helps to snag fish better on short strikes ... great tips; my fave colors around me are green pumpkin & watermelon candy red - junebug for ponds
I have only used the Super Hog. It is a compact bait and so small bass aren't intimidated by it but I am going to try something that WILL scare them off, so I bought the full-size Brush Hog, but haven't used them yet.
I love it but I pair mine with 10lb braid and zman finesse bulletz 1/10 or 1/15th...I also cut off the top just right above the arms...I also cut a small part of the plastic joining the arms out to add a little more movement, I split the 2 big fins and I use spike it chartreuse on the tips of the 2 long feelers and the tips of the two fins i split...my 2 go to colors are green pumpkin and watermelon red, but I think i'm going to try that watermelon orange that looked pretty good...thanks for the video, well presented...liked and subscribed
Use mainly full size junebug brush hogs around here in south Louisiana or blue watermelon black and blue or chartreuse pepper lizards and catch on them anywhere i fish down here
I’ve tried it, and it does work, however I prefer to fish this bait with a weight. Personally, I prefer fishing other baits like senkos, finesse worms, and fluke weightless.
They definitely work weightless, when fishing it weightless it sinks slower and you can also reel it in as soon as it hits the water and fish it top water and get bites.
Is it ok to store them in the tackle box out of the bag? Or do they keep better in the bag? Also will a circle hook rig up good with these? I’ve never used them but I just bought a bag
In the bag for sure. Also, most people rig it Texas style, 1/8-1/4 oz bullet weight, 3/0 EWG hook. You can’t go wrong with a junebug baby brush hog or any of the watermelon colors
Do you all like to fish with brush hogs? Comment below!
Jared Tuck love the baby brush hog! Fish it all year
First time use 3 bass all keeper excellent lure 7/3/20
yes alot
I have a package but I never use em
Try it weightless with a 4/0 hook and 30 lb braid around grass and other cover. Twitch it twice and pause. It catches big bass that way

In my opinion, all plastics are better kept in the bag! But that’s just me
Jared Tuck thanks Jared!
