Let’s be honest, the main reason any man watched OTH beyond the first season was the catfights, and bikini scenes. But no woman should have to put up with that crap when the camera turns off. Wasn't she like 28 when she joined One Tree Hill? She didn't come on until season 7... and she still couldn't speak out then? If you watch back OTH now you can kind of see it in the writing how Mark Schwahn thought of women. Everything was always sexualized.
I think it was hard for them because they were so close to the crew and if the show got taken off air people would lose jobs. Mark was the only problematic one and he wasn’t always on set, it was only when he directed episodes. Other than that he was mostly in LA not north carolina where they filmed.
She’s very accountable. 👌 She wishes SHE would’ve had the courage to not subject herself to that environment and hopes to inspire other people to not let themselves be on the receiving end of behavior that’s not okay.

Sometimes it feels like a "bandwagon" mentality. One woman for whatever reason finally opens up. Then suddenly the whole cast says they've been mistreated. I'm all for wrong things being brought to light. But bandwagon support with false accusations isn't right either. There are plenty of men who've gone to prison on fake rape allegations.
Sexual harassment is different than a robbery or murder, it’s very personal/intimate and often not taken as seriously. The victims of Mark were young actresses who were afraid to speak up because they knew nobody would believe them at the time and they could have lost their job. The show could have been canceled and would impact not only the actors but also the crew members. They stayed on the show because thankfully he wasn’t on set with them everyday and despite of his attitude they loved the show.
@@anhphi100 If it's not taken seriously why wait years later to report it? I don't buy the fear and young excuses. It is less believable when women speak out years later. It makes it opportunistic. And let's face it, a lot of the accusers settle for money reward anyway. It's always about the money. That's why they wait when there are more women brave and lawyered up.
@@seven92023 because everyone turned a blind eye on this type of creepy behavior at the time. If they had dared to speak up they would have been shut down immediately and their career would be over in a second. So yes the "excuse" of being young and fearful is legit. There is strength in number that's why you see so many women speak up only now, because seeing all these other women talk about their experience gave them the courage to do the same
@@anhphi100 The female logic is ridiculous. If no one would believe back then, why should anyone believe years later? Strength in numbers is only when they lawyer up and can get some money out of it. That's not courage, that's opportunism. Most of these women don't have big careers anyway. That's why they are looking for payday.
There’s nothing to laugh about. First, contracts are a thing she probably couldn’t get out. Second, the guy who did this was not always around. He was only in north carolina to direct episodes other than that he stayed in LA where the writer’s room was. Third, the actresses had a hard time speaking out because they were close to crew members who had kids and if the show ended those people would lose their jobs. So instead they did stay on the show but again he wasn’t there 24/7. He’s done this to multiple women on multiple shows and that is why he’s been fired.
She was young and it was probably a job she needed. Sometimes it's hard to speak up. I didn't report the guy that tried to rape me when I was a teen. Almost 20 years later I wish I had. Who knows how many women I could have protected if I had been strong enough to speak up. What I'm saying is don't judge a person until you are in their shoes.
@@npeace312 we shouldn’t have to explain ourselves. This is the problem with society. Instead of questioning why scumbags do this in the first place they want to question the abused. I’m sorry this happened to you and may that monster rot in hell for it.

hi, can you tell me about? i like her so much, never heard about anything about
Does anyone else see that she look so alike megan
Omg I just commented this. Yes I see it!!! Very similar ductal features and expressions.
Well like Hilarie Burton said so herself...... A OTH reboot BUT with a FEMALE BOSS.
I was watching the Boys on Amazon and thought that's Megan Markle
Same. For some reason I always see Meghan as her. 😅
Same
She was 1 of my favorite characters on flash and she had better chemistry than Iris
I could not believe that mark Schwahn do this. He wrote so epic story lines in one tree hill with so much heart.
But this must be true then a lit woman come out and say this(Sophia Bush,Hilary Burton,
Daneel Ackles, and more also the from royals i could believe this.
After Dan Schneider the next great scandal for me. It so sad the must of my favs shows as teen waa hard for the Stars.
he did not even write all the story lines, he took personal stories from the actors real lives and exploited them and put them in story lines to be hurtful.
what did the director or producer do to them?
I think it sucks how much power one guy has over everyone,
I understand why they didn’t quit because why should they? Because of one gross man? And if they full on complained the show would end and thousands of jobs that people enjoyed would be taken away.
People always talk about feeling sorry from the actresses but they forget there were other females who were victims of harassment too, the writers other producers other workers.
And even the guys many of the women on the show speak about how the guys had to be cautious and they would always try to stand in between Mark and the Women to prevent groping
Really like, I wished they didn't kill her character in The Boys.
What????
OTH had so much potential which sucks was one of my fav until hearing this
Put them in the void wraith
YESSSS!!!! finally an apex player lmao
@@mysticalmaniac2 lmao
There's a void in your heart, and I put it there
um could u take it back out please, thanks
Very sad to hear that she had a bad experience on the set of OTH. I really loved that show but we never know what the actors are going through Mark Schwahn has been exposed so no one gets away with anything in Hollywood.
Revenant in the audience pulls out a p2020
Danger, move
Shantel: phases out
lmao
Love her in Love Blossoms!🌺
I missed half of what she said cuz i was lost in her eyes
She plays the voice of Wraith on Apex and Dedaria from Naruro plays Mirage
Shantel is so pretty doesn't show any sign of ageing love her what an important quote she said when she was interviewed
I know one tree hill came first but all I think about when I hear her voice is Wraith. Maybe she could voice Kerrigan from StarCraft if Tricia Helfer doesn’t come back.
idk why i thought that this was joey king.
I don't know why either, the title clearly displays Shantel's name.
@@mavfan1 no when i just saw the thumbnail i hadn’t read the title yet
@@mavfan1 also next time don’t be a complete bitch
is it just me but does she look like Megan Markle?
That's what i was gonna say She really does!
Nope I see it too
Stunning with dark hair.
What is she referring to she was really vague?
Mark Schwahn, the showrunner of OTH, sexually harrassed many of the show's female cast and crew for years. He did the same on his other show, The Royals. He created a toxic work culture on set where women were afraid to speak out for fear of losing their jobs.
@@chloe6926 Is there proof or are we just trying to take down another person like half of these cases?
once again men ruining everything
love her!
Let’s be honest, the main reason any man watched OTH beyond the first season was the catfights, and bikini scenes.
But no woman should have to put up with that crap when the camera turns off. This has happened far too many times. We knew about Epstein and Singer for years. Nickelodeon let Dan Shneider terrorize those kids for years, and now most of them are really screwed up.
She looks like Alexis Bledel!
So I nobody talking about flash season 2
I am from Apex Legends love wraith
She reminded me of Isabella Pappas from the series titled : The Villains of Valley View ( ´22 - ´23 ) when seeing her in S 2 Ep. 2 of the series titled : The Flash ( ´14 - ´23 ) . When not face to face with each other , maybe they favor each other while are face to face with each other , I guess they don´t favor each other ?. So weird .
Aye thats Wraith
yeaaa!!!
This girl has had a terrible experience with showrunners who both have had sexual assault allegations against them. One tree hill and she got fired from the flash because Andrew Kreisberg was pissed she got another acting role.
I didn’t know about The Flash, that this was the reason of her departure. This type of behavior really sucks
@@anhphi100 yeah I think she was supposed to be in the entire season 2 of the flash but was cut out too early because she got the tv show 'Shooter' acting job and Andrew kreisberg heard about it and fired her because of it.
Yeah so basicly she said nothing in those 2 min. Love you all!
I'm 162 and that's not just an age. That's a genduh .

And mark schwann was terrible how can anyone do that

Yes! All I see is Meghan Markle!
I didn't like much the last five years. Something happened that was uncalled for . I wish you all didn't become so terrified. I know I'm the most hated man on earth. . Really hated. Not fake acting hated real HD ate
Shantel Vansanten and Meghan Markle look alike
Phase out Wraith!!!!!! Make a portal!!!!
WHAT HAPPENED????
Mark Schwahn, the showrunner of OTH, sexually harrassed many of the show's female cast and crew for years. He did the same on his other show, The Royals. He created a toxic work culture on set where women were afraid to speak out for fear of losing their jobs.
she looks so much like Meghan Markel!
apex wraith
Oieeeeee🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
She reminds me of Megan Markle
Had the nose job
When complain about directors scripting them to express themselves in media.... but walk out in public to express themselves with no contest....
@@sharon21924 True, makes sense! So unfortunate though
She said she was 23.
I hated this actresses' story line and it was just filler to make a longer season.
She’s very accountable. 👌 She wishes SHE would’ve had the courage to not subject herself to that environment and hopes to inspire other people to not let themselves be on the receiving end of behavior that’s not okay.
does she remind anyone else of meghan markle?
Mommy wraith
what was that "brutal" experience?
The creator of the show was sexually assaulting/harassing the females on the show and the crew members. That is why hilarie burton (Peyton) decided to leave the show.
@@sharon21924 aww! that sucks. Thank you so much for explaining. You are the best! :)
@@sharon21924 but I always wonder why the male actors didn’t really speak up? You can’t tell me you have such amazing chemistry between youll on screen and off screen you’ll are oblivious of each other’s situations.
@@sanjanamisar we just don’t know what things were like back then. Even the women never spoke out until he got fired from an entirely different show years after one tree hill went off air. 🤷🏽♀️
@@sanjanamisar It was an open secret among the young women on the show.
She looks like Megan Markle
Sometimes it feels like a "bandwagon" mentality. One woman for whatever reason finally opens up. Then suddenly the whole cast says they've been mistreated.
I'm all for wrong things being brought to light. But bandwagon support with false accusations isn't right either. There are plenty of men who've gone to prison on fake rape allegations.
Phatty spivot 🍑
Shes a terrible actor. Hated her on one tree hill.
They only speak when it's beneficial to them years later. Speak when it happens. You don't report robbery or murder years later, do you?
That's why they are looking for payday.
shut up nazi
But you stayed on the show though lol? Sorry but if it was so brutal you would have gone 💨
She was young and sometimes in situations like that you just want to keep a good job. It’s not as easy as you think.
Funny how nobody talked about this while the episode checks were still rolling in
You really need to do your research on why they couldn't. Both Hilarie and Sophia had already explained this.
Sophia talked about punching him while the show was still on, we just never knew why.
Because nobody would have believed them at the time. They could have lost their job and if the show was canceled the whole production team could have lost their job too.
cry me a river jeez
So insensitive. Let's hope nothing bad ever happens to you.
And she stayed. Wah wah
So you should just let sexual predators win and quit rather than try to make the most out of a job you love where you should be free from harassment?
@@laramorrison5973 TBH I agree with both of you because women should not have to quit their jobs to be free of sexual harassment, I am with Shantel 100%. BUT it is weird to me how Sophia, Hilarie and the other women just stayed on the cast??? Especially Sophia I remember her hugging and kissing Mark at the 100th episode celebration in like 2008 and acting like best buddies on all the backstage looks. Then when the show is long over then suddenly he was a predator and creep. A little convenient. My comment is specifically for Sophia though not Hil who left or Shantel who was only on for a short time.
@@peachlife5118 Sophia answered that actually "was it awful at times? Yes. Were we afraid? Yes. Some more than others, for good reasons... Were there hundreds of other incredible people there who we loved going to work with everyday? Yes. People we fought for. People we spent eveyday with. That doesn't change the fact that when we knew Mark was coming in from LA we all braced for it. It doesn't change the fact that he abused his position and was a piece of shit. But he wasn't around all the time. Our PAs were. Our wardrobe team was. Our soundmixers and dolly grips and camera department were. And those people were our families. We wanted them to be. We also wanted a better boss. But one man was not going to break us or make us give up on the hundreds we loved and cherished. As for "taking a paycheck" or "putting our careers first"? You think I was going to let that piece of shit take Brooke Davis away from me? Chase me out of my home? A girl I made? A character I cherished? Fuck. That. I deserved to keep her. And safely. We all deserved to have jobs that were safe. But fuck if any of us were going to give up those girls... Any of them. For him. Because of him. Fuck that."
