    This is by far the best review I've ever seen! You compared all model versions and kept it short and simple in explaining and not overwhelming information. The first review that's been awesome!

      Just purchased a 2017 ford explorer 4wd it’s considered the sport edition. It does have some paint issues as per how many miles it has on it and it was an issue we knew about

    What about the suspension?
    How does it ride???

  • @kingstyle7314
    @kingstyle7314 4 года назад +2

    Fun fact the eco boost v6 in the explorer was heavily detuned to make 360hp but only 350flb of torque because the drivetrain wouldn’t hold the torque that it would make completely detuned

    • @Willster7471
      @Willster7471 4 года назад +1

      What would it be if it wasn’t detuned. Also if someone tunes the car does that mean it’ll breakdown?

    • @kingstyle7314
      @kingstyle7314 4 года назад +1

      Willster7471 it would depend on what tune you get for detuned and Ford detuned the engine heavily by changing the turbos so it can’t have as much boost you can still put an intake exhaust and tune on it and it would hold up but you would still be making less boost than a normal 3.5 in say the Taurus or f150

    I have a 2015, I wasn’t aware the water pump was inside the engine. A lot of the motor has to be disassembled to replace the water pump. $$$$$$$$$$$$$

    I so wanted one of these, but the news of carbon monoxide leaking into the air conditioning system and Ford's lethargic response with TSBs that did not address the actual cause really put me off. From what I can tell this was still a problem until 2018. Also, if you are planning on keeping the car a long time, this might not be a problem now but it could crop up in the future.

    • @jenniferwiersma2386
      @jenniferwiersma2386 Год назад +1

      They fixed those issues. I know the dealership had to make sure there was no recalls on the vehicle before selling it. So far I haven’t had any issues with our 2017

    @Car Confections which is better? The limited or sport and which one is more expensive? The limited or sport thankyou i watched every vlog you made

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  7 лет назад

      +Maro Villanueva Hi Maro! The Sport is going to be the more expensive of the two models (pricing is at the end of the video if you want to check it out). As far as which one is better, it depends on if you prefer luxury or athleticism. The Sport has the more power engine, but it gives up some of the equipment from the Limited. Hope this helps!

    Very good review... I've been looking to find the difference between Sport and Platinum... A few times you did mention the sport, but other times you just said Limited or XLT... Am I to assume, if it is available on the Limited, it is avail on the Sport? Besides interior trim, what is the difference between Platinum and Sport?

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  7 лет назад +2

      Hi there! Actually, no, you cannot assume that. We thought the same thing, but the Sport model actually loses features from the Limited (despite being more expensive). Some of those can be optioned back on, but others aren't available at all on the Sport. And the main difference between the Sport and Platinum is the exterior styling, some exclusive features (like the diamond stitch seats, leather dash, etc.) and of course the price. It starts at ~$53k, while the Sport is ~$45k. Hope that helps!

    • @breezyjr
      @breezyjr 7 лет назад +2

      Thanks... I'm mostly interested in options not available in the Sport, but available or standard in the Platinum, besides interior styling. Just started watching a vid on the Sport, and I believe you stated the sport didn't have the movable petals, but it was there. Basically, I'd like to know, what does the Platinum have, that you absolutely cannot have on the sport... Besides any interior or exterior styling, considering I like the look on the Sport better, especially in Black. And, I like the Red stitching... I can't seem to find a comparison that shows standard or optional features between the two...

    American cars and trucks are junk, I really recommend the Toyota highlander because it'll last longer and it's a reliable truck. American suv last for 3 years and end up at the scrap yard. Please don't waste your hard earned money on this trash.

      +Will Exantus If American vehicles are “junk” why has the Ford Explorer been the top-rated SUV *in its class* for 25 consecutive years?
