Here's to three weeks off and for weeks off at xmas lol ( chenford better start heating up. I know it's not a soap opera BUT COME ON!!!)
I'm surprised, by comments about last season, because I thought there were KEY MOMENTS episodes in Season 4. The last episode ended a little weird, BUT Season 5's first episode made up for it, in spades!!!!!! I thought, the episodes last year, that included Tim, his sister and Chen were actually the most vulnerable scenes we've seen from Tim and he NEEDED Lucy!!!!! We learned how abusive Tim's Dad was and secrets that he NEVER TOLD his mom or sister and still didn't at the end, except for Lucy. The 1st episode she demanded basically to come on a ride along b/c she knew Tim would probably just cancel. AND b/c he was now Sergeant, he didn't have to fill out all the paper work. BUT...we learn how Tim was abused by his Dad. And at one point, his sister does ask him, "You really don't think you don't need to talk or see someone with all that dad put you through." I can't remember what Tim said, but he clearly was distressed and angry & hated any kind of happy reminiscing & suddenly slammed on the brakes & said something to his sister, about the time their Dad slammed his head against the wall of plaster!!!! Then later, Ginny questioning him on the trauma he endured, said to him, you really don't think, like the time when you were 7 and Dad dropped you off with a compass and told you to figure how to get home by himself. Lucy suddenly says, "A Tim Test." BUT Tim just looked at her & she told his sister it was nothing. BUT...the following week, was when they were working at their childhood home, and only Lucy was with them, and that's when they found the gun hidden in the wall. Tim saw his Dad, 2x that episode. BUT...Lucy knew that something wasn't making sense, though Tim knew his dad was having an affair with this one woman. BUT...he had assumed that his dad had killed her husband, when in fact, Lucy brought her back in, b/c it wasn't adding up, why he would keep the gun in the wall and not get rid of it. AND Lucy learns the truth, that she shot her husband, and his Dad broke half dozen laws to protect his mistress. Tim was a wreck when he left and Lucy was waiting. When she asked him immediately if he was okay? And he immediately replied no!!!! That his Dad NEVER DID ANYTHING TO PROTECT THEM, BUT FOR HIS MISTRESS HE WAS WILLING TO BREAK A HALF A DOZEN OF LAWS!!!!! And his Dad only kept the gun, in case, the police were onto it, he could frame someone else for this murder. BUT...what was heart wrenching, was when he suddenly, to said to her, "The Tim tests...They don't make me like him." Immediately Lucy said, "I know." BUT...Tim was the most broken we've ever seen him. And gently Lucy says, "You're NOTHING like him." BUT...he was still hurting and he acted so well. That suddenly Lucy gave him a long hug, and softly whispered to him, reassuring him, "You're nothing like him." It's ACTUALLY one of my favorite moments of them in the whole series!!!!! AND he did well, and was a good support, when first they discover, that Tamara's friend had been murdered. AND Lucy wasn't quite sure how to tell her. And Tim tells her to just be a friend and not a cop. And let him be the cop if more questions need to be to be asked. Lucy is really bothered when Tamara told them what "Swiping" meant for teens living on the Street. Lucy is a little quiet, but suddenly, Tim asks her, "Are you okay?!?!" And she says, that Tamara seemed to really easily answer what swiping meant & wondered if part of that was b/c Tamara had done it?! AND she tells him as close as they are, there's a lot that she doesn't share. And he tells her that she just might need time. BUT when they realize it was Declan who stoled the watch from Becca her friend, they went racing back b/c they had left Tamara there with him. And the first episode was hard, cause that's when we learned that Jackson was killed. AND Tim tells her to come & stay at her house that night b/c she shouldn't be alone in her apartment that night without Jackson there. I loved the episode when Harper and James get married. AND the footage that is shown is too funny!!!! AND then finally they have the dance that he owed her from never dancing with her at Lopez's wedding. BUT...yea, it was also the year, that Bailey entered into Nolan's life, and yea still NOT a fan.
@@tammyboon6259 my point exactly. Chenford seems to be the main draw of conversation. Actual sad reason I watch it tho I do love all the characters and plots are good just lack something edgier and that extra something.
I just realized what you meant by the corral seen of Nolan fighting. It was the last episode of the season. I agree. I ACTUALLY watch it online, and skipped most of it and DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY IT ENDED THAT WAY!!!!! BUT...5x1 repaired it and it continued immediately with Chen and waking up to dreaming about kissing Tim. And Tamara was HILARIOUS!!!!!! AND Lopez as well!!!!
@@tammyboon6259 yeah plus I don't know how many times it was on and off and on and off. Writing was erratic. Fed up last year. Three weeks off now then another few weeks at xmas probably🙄 first half of season five obviously focused and well written. Let's hope it continues after the break. Or breaks lol
@@laughforlife3539 I agree with u. BUT in season 5 the worst EPISODE by far & was beyond disappointed & made it VERY CLEAR how disappointed I was!!!!! I ACTUALLY don't know what the writers were thinking!!!! It's the one where Lucy went undercover. I wasn't disappointed as much that we didn't get more Chenford's moments. B/c I too like edgier stories & BUT I do like tiny moments of comic relief. BUT they have to fit the storyline & plot. From the preview, we knew it was about Lucy going under cover & infiltrating a a girls' gang & they show a worried look by Tim when the person who actually shot & killed the store owner wasn't whom they initially thought. Harper & Lopez thought that it the Gang's leader but it wasn't. It was the boy's sister whom helped Lucy to infiltrate it. BUT I get until well now, we weren't going to always c amazing Chenford's moments each episode. BUT I was mad. Cuz I like cop shows, and I like a good plot!!!! There was SO MUCH MORE potential in that Episode, that I gave it a C rating & said it was the worst episode of season 5!!!! I mean the case involved Sgt Grey a little b/c he had 2 sign off on it. B/c Tim is no longer Lucy's Sergeant cuz she's not his aid. And he's technically a Sergeant to the Rookies. And though we don't c him much. Lopez & Harper also don't report Sgt Grey. Yet only recently I've heard again & again that he is also "Watch Commander". I don't know why I didn't pick up on that before. BUT after they realize that Armstrong is a dirty cop & bring the brothers down, Grey says to Lopez that he has some good news. And tells her that she will reporting to a different Sergeant, b/c she has been promoted to Detective. Well don't c him often, but he's the Sergeant that overseas the Detectives. BUT... that under cover episode was so disappointing for me. It really wasn't about Chenford. I loved in the key storyline, there was Tim & Thorsen on stake & watching & listening & Harper & Lopez. They tell Lucy when she's up. And yes we know she's more trained having achieved her special training. Just the other day, someone posted the scene that I didn't recall, that on her return, Sgt Grey in roll call welcomed her back & congratulated her & said she passed or something to that effect. And says, that's no small feet. And she thanks him. BUT...we didn't c any of that, BUT I do remember Harper training her. AND said, be unpredictable & a few other things. SO... suddenly Lopez & Harper look a little nervous when they give her the signal, I LOVED how she was speed demon & swerved the car to a fast stop. And when she gets out, she must've said this young boy's sister's name whose in on in, & says it's UPS, "I've got a pkg 4 u." And her brother comes out. And she puts her gun to Chen's forehead. But I love the line when & how Chen talks & changes her voice, & "Man you must have some genes in your family?!?!" Harper & Lopez smile. And the sister is still trying to intimidate her. And he helps to also explain if it wasn't for her & opening her car door for him, he'd been caught up by the police. BUT...what annoyed me, was literally 1/2 the episode was about how Juarez a Rookie who feels so familiar that she literally moves into Nolan's house b/c she can't sleep?!?! REALLY!!!!! As if you would've ever seen Nolan, Jackson, Chen or even Thorsen EVEN DARE to do that to their TOs. AND...as if Bradford, Lopez, Harper or Bishop from season 1 would've let them!!!!! I mean in Season 2, yes, Tim stays overnight at the hospital b/c Chen almost died!!!! BUT I don't think he visited her at her apartment & waited til 1st shift back. AND then Bailey & Juarez are also talking abt furniture & why Bailey doesn't feel at home. I thought REALLY?!?! This is what 1/2 the episode focused on?!?! And to me Bailey & Nolan have become caricatures. In the beginning I wz ok, but it sure did last. I don't even like her fight scenes. I don't mind a few querky characters BUT they shouldn't be regulars on the show!!!! I FF every scene between Nolan & Bailey. And now Juarez was being thrown in & she too wz like a caricature & sure didn't seem like a Rookie. I saw the actor when she acted as cop on Chicago PD in the Intelligence Unit, & I liked her. So I knew it wasn't just about the actor. I haven't seen the actor Bailey in anything else. BUT so many fans DO NOT LIKE BAILEY & do not like Bailey & Nolan as a couple. One person said, "Why is Nolan & Bailey's relationship being shoved down our throats every week?!?!" Some of us were laughing, that we DIDN'T CARE when they got ENGAGED!!!!! Ppl were talking about how they'd loved 2c James & Harper more & I said I'd even prefer to see Grey with his wife Luna. She has fought some. But it comes across as believable!!!! She's been married 2 Grey for 27 yrs & has to deal with racism all her life & we know had to deal with an alcoholic father. SO...I was leary of the next episode & we had to wait. They must've read some feedback on social media. B/c they'd be stupid to NOT to listen to listen to their fans. AND shockingly they were changes!!!!! Suddenly Nolan was being more tough & making it very clear, that Hotel Nolan is closed!!!! And at one pt he says to Juarez, "The only entity not wanted here, I'm looking at ". And they gave her 2 harder cases back 2 back. And Nolan gets frustrated with her, which is more like the other TOs not as far as Bradford was with Lucy at 1st. And even after the death notification. He doesn't coddle her. He challenged her & said this hasn't been an easy shift, BUT our shift is still not over. Meaning u still need to be on your A game. And the next ep, I was thrilled that Bailey wasn't in it at all!!!!! AND laughed that Grey and Luna were on it. Nolan's helping Tim's sister Ginny with just having moved to LA w/ her sons & newly divorced. I liked that last year, her & Lucy really hit it off. But I did think the last episode of Season 4 was weird, & was surprised where Tim & Lucy ended & yea everything with Nolan & Bailey & that whole thing was weird, esp to end the season. But they did pick up where they left Tim & Lucy going under cover. But Season 4's Finale as a whole was the worst of all the seasons. BUT...I was OK when episode 1 made up for it a lot. Just hoping they stay more consistent. I do like the other couples, just NOT Nolan ,& Bailey, & she gets far too much screen time. Obviously Chenford is my favorite as in everyone's!!!!! AND all they've been thru together since season 1, no other Rookie helped their TO more than Lucy. 1st she arrests her 1st collar & she brings him to report & than literally saves Tim's life after being shot!!!! AND was there to help him as Tim was indeed spiralling!!!!!
I was BEYOND DISAPPOINTED with the show tonight!!!!! BUT it wasn't just with lack of Chenford scenes!!!!! I get that it's gonna be SLOW!!!!! BUT...HONESTLY, I'm SO friggin bored & tired of how much screen time, Nolan & Bailey get each week!!!! I don't care that it is Nathan's show, very few of the viewers like them!!!! Show James, Harper & their new baby. EVERY WEEK they don't need so much focus & it's becoming more & more cheesy!!!!! BUT...also how they handled Chen's undercover work didn't make a lot of sense in the end. I GET that they ended up arresting the sister of the gang, b/c Chen discovered she was the one whom ACTUALLY committed the murder, BUT why the heck DID Chen have to end up BLOWING her cover in the end?!?! They could easily have had other cops to call for back up given the circumstances. Chen DIDN'T WANT TO BLOW UP HER COVER IN THE GANG, BUT in the coming months, we know she is gonna to try either to stay involved or in contact with the gang b/c of her undercover connection to the the Gang LEADER!!!! She could easily be discovered, if one gang leader exposing her & telling the Gang Leader. AND... I thought Tim was being a bit of an ass referring to Tamara STILL as being a puppy of Chen's!!!! Tamara has NO PARENTS and her story is VERY DIFFERENT from this young guy's with Thorsen!!!! Tim KNOWS more about what Tamara's been through.
Why are we getting Bailey shoved in our face, when most viewers don’t like her, Is it because Nathan likes her,and it’s his show, surly he must know what the viewers think of her.
EXACTLY!!!!!!! I HEAR YOU BIG TIME!!!!!!!! I said the same thing. I don't care that it's his show, he should be paying attention to how the viewers are REALLY TIRED and DONE with THEM!!!!!! It's AN ENSEMBLE CAST!!!!!! BUT...I did see somewhere, that there was gonna be a shift this season, from Nolan's back story, to Tim Bradford's backstory more. He's NOT the only producer of the show!!!!! AND I hope they READ what MANY VIEWERS HAVE BEEN SAYING FOR THE LAST FEW WEEKS!!!!! That we don't watch their scenes very much and skip over them & how they REALLY DON'T NEED TO END EACH EPISODE!!!!!!! BUT...THIS EPISODE WAS THE WORST and OVERKILL, and now his young Rookie is on my nerves, b/c now she's involved and they took up way TOO MUCH FOCUS AWAY from what the plot was REALLY SUPPOSE TO BE ABOUT WHICH WAS ABOUT LUCY GOING UNDER COVER WORKING WITH HARPER and LOPEZ as the DETECTIVES and HARPER'S ALSO EXTENSIVE UNDERCOVER WORK and WE KNOW that Chen now has ALSO gone on a training event for more undercover work, and obviously Tim and Aaron also played a part. BUT...Nolan, Bailey, and his new Rookie ruined the episode for me, b/c they were given SO MUCH SCREEN TIME, OVER FURNITURE!!!!!!! It CAN'T GET MORE LAME THAN THAT!!!!!! ESPECIALLY when we were ALL EXPECTING THE FOCUS TO BE ON THIS UNDERCOVER OPERATION!!!!!!!!
@@catlover2652 I think we agree more than we disagree. I get what it is called & why John Nolan is the focus, but the show has evolved. AND it's great that he's training other Rookies. BUT...your audience is important. AND I just think so many of us, don't like Bailey. AND has preferred the most, Grace for him to be with. I was fine with his new Rookie til this last episode when now it was the 3 of them taking so much screen time & it was about his house!!! BUT...they've said, that there was gonna be a change this season, which Nathan obviously must be a part of making. That there was gonna to be a switch from Nolan to Bradford & his character & back story. I know the stories aren't but that Nolan is based off a real person who decided to become a cop later in life. Apparently the LAPD really doesn't have an age cut off to becoming a police officer. I know ALL who work on the show, love him & say he's VERY GIVING not just in what they make, but in their characters & developing them. I think it's more of a ensemble show. AND I think it's only now, that viewers are tired of him & Bailey.
@@tammyboon6259 I have to agree you ,I didn’t mind the rookie until the last episode, no rookie would be able able to go to their TO place and say I can’t sleep, can I come in.. I can’t see it pulled off if John went over and did the same. Nathan must know we don’t like Bailey ,I have read it on Facebook as well, she has been on last season so this isn’t something new. I wonder if Nathan isn’t happy that Tim and Lucy are very popular ,sorry to say more then him. If he has any input ,he should be smart and get rid of her. He was better with thst nurse ,she never popped up like a zit in every scene John was in.
No offense but this is getting pathetic. I’m a Chenford fan too and i can’t wait for them to get together. But they’re not yet. But you guys are eating any crumbs they throw at you like it’s a 5 course meal.
I ACTUALLY wasn't frustrated with Chenford. I was FRUSTRATED, BORED and thought there was a lot of poor writing for this episode all around!!!! I'm SO TIRED & BORED of seeing Nolan & Bailey taking up so much focus on the show & it's just getting cheesier & chessier with these two. I know it's Nathan's show, BUT come on, there's other couples, like Harper & James & their new baby. AND...even the cheesy scenes with Nolan & his Rookie were getting on my nerves & how she was affecting & was so much a part of their relationship & their stupid furniture. REALLY?!?! That ended up taking up MOST of the screen time. I like a good plot. AND the plot should've been WAY MORE FOCUSED ON Chen's undercover work obviously which included Harper & Lopez!!!!! AND I hated hearing Tim suddenly go back to STILL referring to Tamara as a Chen's puppy, when he KNOWS full well, more of what Tamara has been through. It was NOT the same, as this young guy. Tamara had no one & no parents. AND Lucy has done an AMAZING job with her & Tamara has worked hard as well!!! SO yes, I thought Tim was being demeaning to BOTH Lucy & Tamara. He still has some growing up to do!!!! Some other fan, had commented on episode, that Tim at times can still be conceited & felt like Bradford needed some growing up to do. I get her point. AND lastly, I thought the focus or plot was SUPPOSE to be on Chen's undercover work. She DIDN'T want to be blow her cover, when she learned that in the end the boy's sister HAD actually murdered the store owner & NOT the gang leader!!!! BUT in the end, she did with his sister. I'm not quite sure why, they didn't have other back up, or why she needed to run up to help them. She is probably going to want to stay connected to the gang, but now she could be in jeopardy. I love many episodes from other seasons when there's been a good plot. I just ALL AROUND was disappointed with this one, regardless of Chenford. It has even been said, that there would be a change in focus from Nolan to Bradford, this season, with us learning more of his background. This would have Nathan's input obviously. I DID love Chen when she acting cool, in her undercover role, and thought she was a badass & loved Harper and Lopez. BUT as a whole it gets like C rating for me from last night. They didn't need to focus so much on Nolan & Bailey's stupid furniture & with his young Rookie involved with that & I found their case, was incredibly boring & got more screen time than was warranted, that's what I was REALLY disappointed about. It doesn't make me excited to see the next episode. It just fell flat tonight & I thought there was a lot more potential, that didn't have to be about Chenford. BUT there was some great nuggets & lines as we continue to see Chen grow in her under cover work. .
@@tammyboon6259… I concur with most of your comments. I admit for me; of all of the episodes thus far (which have been great); this episode was my least fave. Likewise, I too thought 💭 the focus would primarily be on Lucy’s undercover op; not so much #Chenford or anything else. I definitely agree with the unnecessary scenes with John, Bailey & Celina. It just felt out of place considering the focal part of the episode being about the infiltration of this gang. The episode was just okay. I too would grade it a C. I too was somewhat disappointed. It definitely lacked. I have thoughts 💭 about the Tim/Aaron exchange as I can see both men’s perspective how they were both right & wrong. Aaron & Tim have two very different lived experiences which was shown impeccably on this episode with the 🚔 scene where Aaron calls out Tim & the ending scene when the sister shows up to give her brother a hot gun to hold onto. It was INTENSE to say the very least.
I hate this kind of thing. If you already have someone you like, don't date other people. That's unfair to the person you are dating. I find this plot point to be in poor taste. Honestly, couldn't they find a less distasteful way to bring these two together?
Lucy and Tim are like more self aware versions of the characters from Sandra Bullock romcom Two Weeks Notice. In that movie a billionaire male and activist lawyer female who are ideological rivals work together for a year. Along the way they begin to discover they are very compatible in practically all other areas. They are so compatible that they finish one another’s sentence and eat from one another’s plates during work lunches. But they never actually seem to realize what this means until a crisis. Fortunately these two are well aware of what they feel. I’m liking the slow burn.
Why is Lucy hair like this again? Why is it that undercover she is looking sharp and all together and outside of undercover she looks messy - hair and outfit..(well last week she looked great in that episode). Why can't there be consistency
Ahhhh! Finally someone else noticed!!! I’ve been saying the same thing. It’s like ever since Jackson was killed, she let herself go. Whoever at The Rookie doing her costumes is really terrible. Like, what was us with that green shirt in this episode!?! It’s a shame because Melissa is so beautiful

But I love the line when & how Chen talks & changes her voice, & "Man you must have some genes in your family?!?!"
Harper & Lopez smile.
Great scene. Crisp dialogue.
seriously disappointed in the LACK of CHENFORD scenes in tonight's episode!!!!😓😭🥺Now we have to wait till 12/04😤agghh
We have to stay patient
But why do we have to wait till then? It's like a whole freaking month 🤔
A month break ?
@@jamiefletcher3186 afraid so..ruclips.net/video/PxBg8ty3Mcc/видео.html
Lucy in pink 😍 good lord 😍
I was a bit disappointed last night. Zero interaction last night.
Sad. I hope Chenford is still around..I didn't even finish S2;(
Now they are promoting Rookie Feds herE in the Philippines;(
Why are we getting Bailey shoved in our face, when most viewers don’t like her,
Is it because Nathan likes her,and it’s his show, surly he must know what the viewers think of her.
@@tammyboon6259 IKR ,it’s called the rookie ,and it’s suppose to be about John being trained and now he training Rookies,
@@catlover2652 I think we agree more than we disagree.
LOL!!!!! 😂😂🤣
What did Aaron tells Tim about Lucy?
When Tim wouldn’t pull Tabin from the op Aaron said he’s endangering the kid all because it would be good for Lucy’s career
can you give a time stamp for the chenford glance? I don't know where it is
There is none.. it’s just them standing near eachother
When is the next episode?
BUT there was some great nuggets & lines as we continue to see Chen grow in her under cover work. .
Ok but why does this bother you?
@@itsjustmollyyy4481 Not sure who you are asking?!
That’s what the writers are counting on, it’s hardly pathetic
Aaron & Tim have two very different lived experiences which was shown impeccably on this episode with the 🚔 scene where Aaron calls out Tim
& the ending scene when the sister shows up to give her brother a hot gun to hold onto. It was INTENSE to say the very least.
I hate this kind of thing. If you already have someone you like, don't date other people. That's unfair to the person you are dating. I find this plot point to be in poor taste. Honestly, couldn't they find a less distasteful way to bring these two together?
are you referring to her still being with Chris?
Girl bye don’t let your man stop you from finding your soulmate go 2 hel
Uhm, what glance??? 😵💫😔
LOL the half a second of eye contact at 0.25😓
Lucy and Tim are like more self aware versions of the characters from Sandra Bullock romcom Two Weeks Notice.
Oh my goodness, I'm a huge Sandra Bullock fan, and I've NEVER seen heard or seen this
movie!!!!!!
