Amazing man! As a low brass player, this video really does inspire me, and as a result I have been working on my range on all instruments to the point of “weird notes”, and I’m pretty sure it was because of this video! Needless to say, you are like tuba jesus and probably a really great person but thanks for this video!
That's an insane range there in both directions. I could barely hear the low one though I find it amazing you pulled off that high note as it's high by trumpet standards.
Luis Andrei Cobo I don't have a mute, and when being around One I've never tried, and I can hit regular pedal D super loud, soft, and medium volume. I can play the double pedal D, but pretty soft. Hope this answers your questions.
Thanks! This is helpful. Really cool to hear these sounds! Your regular pedal tones are gorgeous and crystal clear! I never even knew the double ones existed until today :-)
That high note is so high, that it is outside the so-called "standard" range of the trumpet (It is a D on a Bb trumpet. Meanwhile, the highest note in the "standard" range that you find in textbooks is the C just below). This basically means you just hit a note that is quite hard to hit on a trumpet, but *on a tuba* Props to this guy, he's a god.
I feel like pedals on tubas are at the extreme low end of the range of the human ear. Combine that with the fact that it takes so much air, and that probably explains why it can be hard to hear pedal notes on tubas. Speaking of which, I wonder if certain animals are better equipped to pick up those lower frequencies than people. Just my own thoughts. -Mason Mealick
Range- C1- C7 . Congrats men. :) So actually, from a trumpet perspective, C4 is low C, C5 is mid C, C6 is High C, C7 is double High C, so you went from triple pedal C to double high C :D Anyway, amazing. :)
I'm pretty sure his range is actually C0-C6 in this video. The highest note is definitely a C two lines above the treble staff and the lowest he played was a C0 since you could barely hear it as a pitch.
all brass instruments can play the same ranges from Beneath bass clef to above treble clef, but depending on its tubing and design, some brass instruments cane sound more clear than others in certain ranges
Actually they have a limit on the lowest note they resonate to, which is the fundamental frequency (aka pedal tones), "notes" below the fundamental aren't actually produced by the instrument.
On both my 6/4 CC tuba and my 5/4 Eb tuba, both with 5 valves, I can get toFFF#, but trying to go lower, my breath isn't strong enough, and the tone won't come out. I guess I'm too wimpy in my old age (82). I can get to eb'' once in a while, but not without a good warmup. Maybe in my next life I'll be able to do better.
I play trombone and the lowest note I can reach is a pedal C, but its just an F attachment, so it's not a bass. The highest note I can reach is the C in the treble clef. I am still in school but I don't consider that an excuse.
Thats not a double pedal c dude, thats called silence. The double pedal C has a frequency of 16 Hz, so if you just double toungue pretty fast into the mouthpiece, you could technically call it a double pedal c.
These extremes don't sound good at all. Amazing that you can get there but not really usable in music. Perhaps if you get amazing and play in some mad jazzy bavarian band or something.
Who needs a cat that purrs when you have a tuba
Omg it sounds like a cat purring!! Its so low you can hear the frequency or the pulse, its so cool!
Wow, you even played above the TREBLE CLEF staff!
kason cheese yes sir. I can play higher, but just didn't on this video.
**play**
Tbh that's not really a compliment, it's quite easy to go above the treble clef staff. He went wayyy above it.
@@PeterGriffin-kb2hf on a tuba the lowest brass that plays on bass clef?????? No it’s definitely not
@@roguelites5225 he’s probably a trumpet or horn
I didnt know thanos played tuba
3:00 when you have morning rehearsal
What does that mean?

I heard the double pedal c, but you have to turn speakers up all the way

Guys he’s just using a trumpet
a really big one
Wow, your tone is really amazing! And the lowest to highest note so just amazing to hear. This makes me want to play my tuba again.
he played the highest i can play on trumpet ON TRUMPET, ON A TUBA! this man is amazing
Ok, I play Sousaphone/Tuba and I'm wondering how can I blast a pedal note like the embouchure
I find whenever I'm playing super loud I get super low in the mouthpiece and really opening my mouth.
How did you get your range this high
I've done this befor after playing tuba for 3 weeks, being a high brass player helps
My mans here TUBA SCREAMING
i don’t even play tuba. why am i here
@Jordan you don't suck bro.
You like watching.incredible.things..!
I play Euphonium. And i thought i could go low and high. But this dude is next level. 😂😂😂👌
I've been trying to play that note for 5 years
That's an insane range there in both directions. I could barely hear the low one though I find it amazing you pulled off that high note as it's high by trumpet standards.
You are a beast!!!
The Empire 27 thank you my man.
Me: It can’t go any lower
Tuba:Hold my mouth piece
When you can play tuba, trombone, and trumpet at once
Two questions
: can you play pedal tones effectively with a mute in? How quiet can you get a pedal D, for example?
Luis Andrei Cobo I don't have a mute, and when being around One I've never tried, and I can hit regular pedal D super loud, soft, and medium volume. I can play the double pedal D, but pretty soft. Hope this answers your questions.

Luis Andrei Cobo yes sir. Thanks for watching!
You've just played the highest note I've ever managed to get out of my trombone on a tuba! Good job.
What a beautiful man

He really played the seven seas
He has sailed the 7 c's
As a trumpet player I can’t even play as high as this dude

No its C3 For low C4 for mid C5 is high and C6 is double high
@@brycesusong6307 Yes C4 is middle c but trumpet players call it low c
Raleigh Singleton yeah but the other ones were off C7 really is a note i mean i guess you can play it but its not really a note
I believe double pedal C is actually C0
I'm pretty sure his range is actually C0-C6 in this video. The highest note is definitely a C two lines above the treble staff and the lowest he played was a C0 since you could barely hear it as a pitch.
Or to go higher you can just scream into the tuba
Dammnn tuba screamers!
You're a really good tuba player
HOLY COW YOURE AMAZING
RUclips: Want to see an anime girl play a tuba and her cat purrs with her?
40 millon people: yes we will!
Nice I use a pt88+ really good for the bottom end
Tubas going hight sound like a 4 year kid trying to win America’s got talent
You play very well.
Hello yeah!! Love it
As a tuba player I am threatened.
all brass instruments can play the same ranges from Beneath bass clef to above treble clef, but depending on its tubing and design, some brass instruments cane sound more clear than others in certain ranges
And likewise
they were designed to "comfortably" play in those registers
Actually they have a limit on the lowest note they resonate to, which is the fundamental frequency (aka pedal tones), "notes" below the fundamental aren't actually produced by the instrument.

Wake me up.when you start playing..
Counting how many cs
For how thiccccc that tuba is
1:57. Your welcome
Great! EEE, 20 Hz is ordinarily the lowest the human ear can recognize as sound.
A fin whale produces 20 hz
To people who say tuba has small range
Dude. I think you might have blown an eye vessel.
That’s almost an OCTAVE LOWER than the Contrabassoon!!! And as HIGH as a Trumpet!!!!!
Dude I can't imagine what your neighbors think you're doing LMAO
Impressive

Manz can go higher on his tuba then me on my alto sax and that’s plain sad 😞
I wonder how it felt to not be able to breathe there
awesome
Thanks
*Why Do I Keep Hearing This Outside My House*
I heard the double pedal C and a double high c. I did not hear a triple octave either way,
I was a bit disappointed when he didn't pass out
me thinking if i could go that high on a baritone or trumpet
When you're playing low you look both condescending and struggling
I play tuba and my lowest note is still A flat 😭
This is like a mid note for a trumpet
Thats not a double pedal c dude, thats called silence. The double pedal C has a frequency of 16 Hz, so if you just double toungue pretty fast into the mouthpiece, you could technically call it a double pedal c.
Yeah I had to look it up when I watched too
it was, you just have to listen quite closely.
no, that's C0. He actually plays a C1. It's on the piano :)
no you couldn't call that a double pedal c, it would be the same not as a double pedal c, but that's not what a double pedal c is
Did you eat your other tuba
Jeff Hamm he has more skill in his left nut than you do in your whole body though m8
Predicted Killers Yeah his left nut probably weighs as much as his whole body! jk
Nice but trombone for life
I can rock a bone, too.
but you never played a double pedal c
Guys he's just screaming into the mouthpiece

He looks like the tuba
Pretty much every thing above middle C and every thing below C1 is unusable and sounded like shit.
"6 Cs" my ass.

See how long you take to get the "notes?" They're not usable in performance.
