Thanks for the upload! I do have a quick question concerning sims. It seems like for both single target and AoE recent profiles have taken a lot of versatility such that all the crafted items are vers/mastery, and we use a versatility phial. Is there a reason the stat priorities changed? Since when 10.1.5 released the sim profile still had as few versatility as possible. Also looking at builds of high ranked mages (including you!) this recraft hasn't taken place yet (im assuming its because they usually both play fire and frost). Do you plan on recrafting to increase your versatility stats as well? thanks!
Increasing my vers aside from going vers ominous essence (which I dont have) hasnt simmed better for me yet, so I havent changed anything aside from some gems. Looking at t30 profiles if thats what you are referring to shouldnt be a guide, they use the same sim tools to reach where they are at, except the gear they can get and equip is unlimited and yours is not.
Do you happen to know what kind of gear he was running? Looking at the on screen stats, seems like they had a lot of versatility. Not sure if that's a hold over from fire secondaries or not. With corrupting rage / howling rune / haste OCE I'm at 31% Crit, 40% Haste, 37% Mastery and 2% vers, wondering if I should be ignoring sims to get some more DR? My group is just starting to push 22s now.
Really dumb question, but what's the fire bolt looking part that comes out when he sends Ice Lance? I'm not 70 yet, but I can't see where it would be in a talent.
Thing is, i believe that Hopeful probably knows how to play frost correctly, but during an actual +28 run even the best players sometimes just can’t concentrate on their rotation while also paying attention to every mechanic that can just oneshot you on that key level. He is also playing with Shimmer which makes it even harder for him to use Glacial Spikes on cd.
I don’t know. During the mythic WF races it’s very rare too see anyone perform with a performance error of under 0.5% Same in the m+ races. Several people get accused and sometimes even banned for having a PERFECT rotation without a single error in a full 20min run.
So why i get is, if we're using ray of frost, we mostly ignore it on adds packs and only use it on bosses or an add with a lot of hp, or was he doing it wrong?
@@Manather Thanks - a few other questions - if its Tyrannical and we're running ray of frost - do we also want cryopathy? Also do you use it in your trash rotation or just skip it unless there is a priority trash add or 1 left alive? Also when generating icicles for GS it is better to use an empowered ice lance if you have it rather than a frostbolt right?
@@frostfire5208 just ray, not cryopathy, and you only use it on 1 and 2t as the rotation says normally. Yes you would rather empowered ice lance than frostbolt for icicles.
You want to use vers in any key that is difficult for you personally for the added survivability + damage. You want to use elemental chaos or corrupting rage on easy keysfor damage, but using corrupting rage in a hard key is risking the entire key. There is no scenario for using the glacial fury as frost in a key.
@@joshuawoodard6998 it's the best for damage in low risk content, but this is a 28 and a single death could brick the key. Corrupting rage is going to create a big risk of death that's not appropriate here.
@@Quiet_9 it's okay. We can agree to disagree. I saw Asuna doing 27/28 as frost using corrupting rage. I guess there's choice for your preference which is pretty cool I guess.
Unrelated but seeing so many ppl talk about the Versatility stat, I absolutely hate that stat. Genuinely such a boring shit stat that doesn't affect nor interact with the rotation of ANY spec. Excluding tanks, of course. Wish they got rid of it so that stat power budgeting returned to just being haste/crit/mastery. Haste and crit in particular are just so more more interesting when it comes to affecting rotations and I'd much rather have more of those than versa.
Its looking like I’ll do another one of these for a player pushing +24s which should have a broader range of issues. But going too far down the totem pole its less about illustrating issues and more of just reteaching the spec in my experience.

He's mostly a fire main so his gear isn't optimized for frost hence the high Haste/Vers gear

Thats an effect he is being given by the augmentation evoker in the party
@Manather do you just use a Ice Nova mouseover macro to conveniently freeze your target you want also frozen?

you only use it in st/2t, so he mostly used it correctly

Obviously it was a mistake. He probably thought it was macro'd into his IV.

In aoe opener do we use any shattering spell for the second comet storm after CoC?
The cone of cold also applies an AoE winter's chill to everything hit, so there is no need, it will be shattered from the cone of cold.

Cone of cold resets the cooldown look in your talent the last one in the right tree

Blizzard, due to the size of the pull. There are lots of small adds. Just watch the cooldown of FOrb tick down, aside from CoC and Shifting Power.

how come he is using tepid vers instead of corrupting rage when he has only 26% crit?
its a 28 tyran, very scary, wants the vers to live. and not the damage taken from crit phial
