    Great insight from then to now! I’m very excited about my team! It’s been a long time since we have been competitive and good. I was a kid in the 80s and I’d love to experience the glory days again!

    John I really don't know if you got a chance to see Tom Brady sitting in a restaurant along with JZ talking about the mindset that he had from day one, on how he practiced every day. He said all of his practices was like playing in the big championship game so when he got there, then it was just another game for him and no big deal.

    Seems like there’s less media coverage of OTAs this year. Would you agree? Wonder if they’re keeping things under lock a little more. Seems like we got at least a couple days of coverage per OTA week in previous years.

    John, the narrative that Commanders coaches ruined Howell is misleading. When Brissett relieved him, the offensive line improved and they moved the ball. Howell’s issues are related to his poor throwing mechanics (elongated) and limited size / athletic ability. He’s completed ONE pass of 40 air yards or more in his career, and that was in the final game of the 2022 season. Brissett equaled that in the first 2 minutes of his playing time here. The media needs to stop making excuses for Howell. He was a 5th round pick for several legitimate reasons. The NFL understands what he is. Just because Rivera wanted everyone to believe otherwise doesn’t make it true.

    • @johnkeim4748
      @johnkeim4748 4 месяца назад +2

      Didn't say ruined. But they did not help and I'm basing this off: talking to coaches from elsewhere about how best to handle a young QB AND being around it and knowing what folks here were saying. Also, have pointed out his limitations quite often. The point of it here was only to say I think this staff will help Daniels a lot more than the previous one helped Howell. It was not a dissection of his game or parceling of blame. Did that during the season and afterward. Brissett is a vet who also had the height/size to stand in the pocket and deliver throws; Howell too often in those situations could not see the field the same because he's 3 inches shorter and would sometimes leave the pocket or simply didn't trust what he saw. . Never have put all the blame on the coaches and have said that often, but in this case it was only about how a staff needs to handle a young QB. They most certainly failed in that area last year.

      Dude, get real! Here's some FACTS...
      1) 40 of the 55 Howell sacks were in the first 7 games..
      2) 25 sacks in 10 games shows Howell learned.
      3) Brisset played the end of 3 games, 2 of which the Commander's were MULTIPLE TOUCHDOWNS behind!!!
      That means, the teams Dallas and SF were in prevent, and NOBODY wants to get hurt in BLOWOUT games!
      The Commanders O-line was rated worst in the NFL against the 'blitz!" Teams don't "blitz" when they are up by 2-3 touchdowns in the FOURTH quarter!!! UGH!!!!!
      p.s. Brissett threw 23 , yes TWENTY THREE passes, while Howell led the entire NFL with 612!!!
      I deal in FACTS, using STATISTICS, not 'feelings!!"

      FIFTY EIGHT YEARS!
      Grow up, you're under 40 us showing...
      p.s. and how many teams WANTED Howell??!
      p.s.s. since I know math is hard, 2.5 sacks per game the FINAL ten is called "IMPROVING" (unless your'e a mouthy punk!) over the 6.5 sacks per game the first 7 games...

    I agreed with everything you said until you mistakenly said Sam Howell didn’t make the same mistake twice. I don’t know about practice but in several games he made the same mistakes more than twice. Maybe the coaches needed to have tougher practices. Oh my bad the players complained about how tough the offensive practices were and Ron backed them up.

Sam Howell was a 5th round pick, and you wouldn't take a 1st Round draft pick over Sam? Sean Payton, a future hall of fame coach, could not stop talking about how good Bo Nix was. They’ve changed 3 of the 5 starters from last year, and one that they didn’t, Cosmi, was their best lineman. In addition to that I believe that JD gets rid of the ball faster than Howell, and KK’s system will be more friendly to a young QB than EB’s.

    To constantly blame Coach B for a lot of passing last season while Omitting the fact that this team was always playing from behind by Multiple score with an atrocious defense is poor analysis. All the while giving JD a pass?...

    • @johnkeim4748
      @johnkeim4748 4 месяца назад +8

      Hi. Their percentage of pass plays in the first half were among the highest in the league, if not the highest. So it wasn't just "playing from behind'. I also talk to players; I know how they felt about it. Was just about unanimous. Others in the organization in higher levels felt the same. I do believe the head coach could have put a stop to it and did not. So the blame falls on multiple levels... Yes, the D was horrible and that has been discussed many times but they failed the QB last year on multiple levels, including the play calling.

      I would say the offense was designed to get a few yards and then let our poorly coached defense give up points, and then special teams would do pretty well and then back to nightmare of the offense. 😂

      Bienemy's unwillingness to adjust his game plan based on the available talent fell squarely on his shoulders. The O line had a higher PFF grade for run blocking, yet Washington passed more than any team in the league. Bienemy was never afforded the opportunity to bring in his assistants, but he was too stubborn to adapt. Success in this league depends on the ability to adapt to adversity, and Bienemy hasn't developed that ability. Hopefully, one day he'll realize its importance. His "my way" attirude shuttled him right out of the league.
