Joey is such a great friend. He really cares a lot about his friends and will be there to fight for them just in a heartbeat.
Did you notice that when Rachel says "it's my boss" he's like "Yeah?" with a hint of curiosity, but then she says "and my baby" and his second "Yeah" feels a lot more anxious and concerned. The mentioning of Emma immediately made the issue go a few notches higher in his mind.
Sometimes I feel bad for Rachel's boss 🤣 That man had to go through all kinds of situations since the 1st time he met Rachel.

Joey is such a good friend , even with her lie he went there to fight against her boss , exactly proved that he deserved better in the later seasons 👏

This was the worst story arc on the show. It was just senseless.

Joey developed feelings for Rachel but she rejected him. So, it made things awkward between them. Monica suggested for Rachel to ask Joey about help with a work problem as an icebreaker and she made that stuff up about her boss.

I always liked Mr Zelner, he was one of the more underrated side characters.
He is very patient he put up with Rachel antics never lost his cool always gave her benefit of doubt giving her second chances he is really a cool boss.
@@Jahnavi4464 agreed, he always forgave her and knew her potential/how smart and successful she was and overall knew she was a good worker, i liked him

Jennifer was very good in that scene and she had some good lines too. Now I want to understand why Rachel made up the story in the first place. It must be the one with the tea leaves from season 8.

@richstrobel8441 i just saw the plot of that episode her and joey had some date before this so things got awkward and monica advised her to make things up work related to talk to joey again and be friends again😂

Mona has the patience of a Saint to put up with Ross' antics regarding Rachel. It's a shame that she never reappeared after this episode, though she was mentioned in passing by Phoebe when talking about past partners.

Joey is like a chow dog, to too bright but pretty and incredibly loyal
People say Joey is not sharp and the kept dumbing him down unnecessarily- but Rachel has quite a few stupid moments
Someone on a train actually DID offer to buy my baby when I was pregnant.
Sometimes Joey makes a lot of sense, maternity leave would have been an easier lie. 😂

I hated the Joey Rachel getting together storyline when it aired. I almost stopped watching. Glad they rectified it in the end. They were more enjoyable as just friends

Rachel wasn't toxic. She had the most growth of any character on the show, BY FAR. She went from ditzy spoiled daddy's girl to a strong, independent, self made, hard working woman and mother and she was a fiercely loyal friend with a huge heart. Sure, she did some questionable things sometimes but all the characters on the show had flaws. Nobody is perfect, Rachel did her best.

Good to finally know, Rachel NEVER becomes independent, she always needs to live with someone who picks up after her, you want independent? Check Phoebe out, she lived by herself without ever having to mooch off someone, hard working? The only job she could get on her own was as a lowly assistant serving coffee, then she complained in public loud enough so a guy who instantly felt attracted to her offer her a prestigious job; she never even learned how to use a copy machine, she hired a guy she was attracted to as an assistant and THEN she started dating him, she stabbed her boss in the back despite hiring her under incredibly awkward conditions and slandering him with wanting to buy her baby.
She stole Monica's baby name for her own, tried to belittle her engagement night AND had pity sex with Ross when the wedding day was around the corner.
She directly and indirectly ended most of Ross' relationships and even declared with glee how she was gonna go to London and ruin Ross' and Emily's wedding.
She all but forgot about her own daughter in the last season, and literally asked Ross if he'd still be seeing Ben (after which, we never ever saw Ben again despite Ross reaffirming he'd still take care of his first son).
But yeah, she's the best character in the show.
