About Jonny playing two instruments simultaneously... When they play Street Spirit live, he plays the long synth string notes using the head of the guitar that he's also playing.
Dude, I'm in my 50s, and I've been following Radiohead for decades. I'm also a bit of a musician and an audio engineer. I've done my share of song-writing, jamming, and working in recording studios. I have to say, every time there's been new Radiohead, I've always felt like I'm a kid, discovering new things about music for the first time. They have this way of putting people of all ages on the same page. Your reaction here is something I can totally relate to. Keep up the awesome work!
Glad you've discovered Radiohead - Ive' been a fan since seeing them in 1992 :-) You're Licky to have them in your life! THank your parents for me, for instilling a sense of musical adventure in you!
Radiohead is basically modern bards. Millennium here, not from the vinyl era despite have listen too, but I have listen too many CD albums and is rare for a band to be able to release a solid album, but Radiohead does it time and time again. I actually never hear a bad song by them. You need some proficient in music, classical music has create many rock stars, then you need a band that you share music and values and a good influence of previous era music, that's how the great song were made, even the early rock was created taking blues and jazz to another level. Also never forget to write and play with the heart. Of course if you have the gift for music, after learning playing you can do wonder but is rare so don't get your hope up for no reason, sometimes a solid foundation can get you further.
Hi Cadence! This is so cool. I love Radiohead! I am so glad you love this music so much as well. My favorite: How to Disappear Completely. I think I heard an interview with Thom Yorke.. that he said this was the song he wanted to be remembered by. He wrote it during the OK computer tour, which was very intense and exhausting for him. Really a beautiful and haunting song. May I suggest also, Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell by the Flaming Lips if you have not already heard it? It's a beautiful song about life. A song that always brings tears to my eyes. Other tracks from Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots are also pretty cool. You rock!
Can't wait to be old and dying, listening to this "crappy old man" music, still dead on the inside and crying for that mythical love and light while listening to this beautiful music, dying alone..
If you really wanna have your mind blown by Radiohead, take the time to find their performance of “Idioteque” and “National Anthem” on SNL. It’s jaw dropping. Especially Idioteque. I’d say more but YT HATES that performance of Idioteque and doesn’t like links or even descriptions of how to find it in comments🤷🏻♂️
Not a note out of place they could teach a lot of people about composition i hate to reccommand specific songs because their whole catalog is superb and all their albums are meant to be listened to as a whole to truly get the vibe and all their albums are great ourside of the first one and wait until you see all the amazing b-sides and non-album great tracks they have more than most bands have a-sides.
If you ever get a chance to see them live, please do so. It is nothing short of a spiritual experience. While it’s a bit a deep cut, I wonder if you might be interested in doing a reaction to Husker Du (they were Nirvana’s favorite band if that counts as a selling point)
I so wish I could go back and hear those both for the first time! I'm already a big fan of the Smashing Pumpkins Siamese Dream album, so I can't give a first reaction to those, but I haven't heard the other albums, so I'll be doing songs from them soon.
great vid, it's awesome to see you enjoy their songs. In December when I saw their other band The Smile, during one song Jonny played the piano AND harp simultaneously 🤯
Good Job Dude! I'm liking the uploads. I would suggest Everything in its Right place next! it shows off Radiohead's more experimental side 😄
Sounds great, thank you for the recommendation! 🙏
@@cadence.presley Glastonbury 2003 live version for that song, killer performance

“It just happens. The drums come in, and it’s like…they were always there in the first place.”
That’s actually really profound.
Jonny was playing keyboard and xylophone. They are brilliant.

Was just about to suggest it. Meet Jonny greenwood.
RH is my all time favorite band. They are awsome.

Thanks for watching! Definitely more coming soon!
Just watch the whole In Rainbows set from the Basement. It’s unique. Also, you should have a crack at the ‘King of limbs’ in the basement.
If I was your mother I would die of pride. Pretty sure I am old enough to be your mama too. This is real music, buddy ❤️
