The hardness test was interesting. It doesn't matter about the primitive method as it was consistently applied across all the gels and was only meant to be comparative.
Honestly dude I'm so happy you are making this content for this community of Gel Ball Enthusiasts I'm buying my first starter blaster (SKDG18) watching your review I guess it's a decent sidearm before I move up to rifles. I have requested the buyer for blues.
@@lowguidoschopshop Perhaps maybe you'd like to get your hands on some, I know there are a few out there but I'm not sure how good they are now compared to the rifles that these manufacturers are coming out with.
I was listening to this with headphones & the blues sounded like they hit harder than the other gels (followed by the milkies). Too hard to tell visually from the video, but I'll take your word that the milkies in this test hit more often.
It surprises me that milkies aren't larger. Being a harder ball they should survive friction losses along the barrel better than a softer gel. It's one of the reason they work better with a hop up (the ones that actually touch the gel, not just replying on air pressure difference for back spin). I only use milkies now, they're usually cheaper than the others. Anything else I have is just what came with the blaster.
Nice video Dean, cheers matey ... apparently there are also black ones too now, you heard of them as I just ordered some from gelmod to test out would be interesting to see how they perform compared to the others!
Interresting n yea ur diagram n understanding of a hop ups n barrel flow is correct n all a hop up does is allow the air thats allowingvthe ball to float escape on one side reduc9ng the air presure n creating backspin wich uses the balls own energy n momentum to fly a lil furthur before running out of force n doing its drop

i love despite you have lot of better blaster than your gen 8 You always use standard gen 8 for test It not the best but it most is prolific gel blaster so far So this video will be relevant to most blaster user Since someone with better blaster spend lot of cash bcoz they dont wanna bother upgrade their blaster anymore
Great test mate, I was just doing something similar using calibers measuring the width of different ammo. The results blew me away. I tested, 5 different types of balls and the average width was 6.7mm!! - I did not find even one 8mm round out of all the Gels that I randomly selected for measuring. 58 balls of different color, brand etc, Not even one 8mm round.... Have you found this at all? or anyone reading this? - I prepare all my ammo correctly and know the difference between fresh ammo and 6 month old ammo. Just curious to see if anyone has found this as well. Makes me wonder if I should in fact be ordering 9mm I find that My WELL's M4 is extremely fussy on ammo so I need to find a solution fast. My other Blasters are More accurate at the moment including a $20 Glock.... Its got me stumped.
Your test would be reasonable enough, but you need to repeat the measurement with several from each type and average the result, especially since you're eyeballing the crushing weight.
In fact, perhaps a more repeatable test would be to place increasingly higher weights on the top of a steel rod (in place of the drill bit) until the gel ball smooshes. So for instance you might put 2x 1kg weights on, followed by 500g weights etc. If you don't have specific weights, perhaps fishing sinkers or even a known volume of water would a good substitute. I'd give this a shot but I don't have the variety of balls that you have.
Hey, do you know about metal tail for m4a1? Whats its function? Btw i want to improve accuracy and its distance. What should i upgrade apart from dkj8s hop up?

hello 1400, here is some trivia for you. in the last 28 days I have actually lost 37 subscribers. the most lost in one day was 9 after I uploaded the SKD glock video and second most was 8 after the spring video. fortunately there are enough of you legends to keep coming and subscribing to make those numbers mean nothing.
@@lowguidoschopshop 'You win some, you lose some' as they say. I haven't seen anyone else going to the lengths that you have to break down these gel blasting details so I'll be sticking around if you keep the quality content coming. Thanks for taking the time to inform individuals like myself about the blasting 'pursuit' (or hobby, sport.....whatever you want to call it).
this is the reason I am doing this. there is literally no one who is covering all the details. why do we need alloy tappet plates? what does an O ring do? why do we need a stronger return spring? I'll be the first to admit that I don't have all the answers, but i'm going to do whatever I can to find out. without all the marketing bullshit.
@@lowguidoschopshop Your inquisitive and analytical approach will greatly contribute to the awareness of others in the community, mate. A question I'd like answered (and I'm not trying to suggest you should investigate this, I'm just genuinely curious) is can we use a metal M4A1 airsoft receiver to replace the default one found on a jm gen 8 M4A1 instead of just upgrading to an xm316? I don't know if they are compatible or not. It's all these things that get explored that help the community to grow, providing people like yourself share this info ✊
WHY YOU NO MORE ACCURATE SCALES? those are the standard druggy choice but only measure to 0.1gr search a bit online and you can get ones that measure down to 0.001 for maybe twice the price (those cheapies are bout 15 bucks, the better ones you can get for 30-40. They're for jewelry so their max weight is 20-50gr instead of a few hundred grams Overall much more suited to weighting these tiny amounts. they come normally come with free calibration weights cause its the sorta thing you calibrate before each use. Ive had one since this video was posted (2018) , and it goes in 0.001gr increments but its real world accuracy is about +/- 0.005gr at worse.

I think the blue will be a good choice for pistols. See there's another thing.. I havent even touched on pistols.

The blues also supposedly shoot further due to being the heaviest. I can't clarify if that's for the JM blues or hardened blues though..
I was listening to this with headphones & the blues sounded like they hit harder than the other gels (followed by the milkies). Too hard to tell visually from the video, but I'll take your word that the milkies in this test hit more often.
The blues were definitely a quiet achiever in this test. They surprised me.

By the time the gel balls reach that distance, they are weak as fuck and don’t do any damage.

Can you improve accuracy by rifling the barrel?
No.
you need back spin from a hop up.

I did do several from each batch but only 1 of each for the video.
Fair enough. I was about part way through editing just to say - btw thanks for making this video because it's still useful to know.

Brands.whats the brands?
Thanks for awsome video, can you make a ranklist of ammo?
What ammo should I use for a akm-47
I have a question, by blue gels do you mean the standard JM blue gel balls or are you using a whole other brand?
These blue balls are the standard jm ones
