Really impressed by Evan Spiegel. Hope he can continue to grow Snap and maintain its independence because if it’s core values really are as he expressed, it deserves to survive. (As opposed to say, Meta).
Spiegel has been one of the very few major social media tech execs/founders who have unapologetically stood up for the open liberalized democratic values that all the rest of them love to talk about defending but hesitate to actually implement and stand up for in practice.
Scott was really digging in on that would you sell the company question. I would have lost respect for Evan if he said yes. That man is an entrepreneur.
I believe it may be nearing a bottom 4-6 weeks from now. So a bottom in mid to late January, 2023. That's based on technical analysis. But it depends on the market as a whole, which in turn depends on interest rates, geopolitical tensions, etc. Snap isn't (technically) showing any billish signals yet, though. So I can't say I'm in a hurry to buy. Same goes for Meta, btw.
Actually I wanna clarify "bottom": I don't necessarily think the market will "bottom" in 4-6 weeks, and then rise dramatically. I think (guess) we'll have a market that goes up and down, sideways, for >1 year. Perhaps even tilting slightly downwards, on an index level. Which means individual stocks may still go down dramatically, or even up.
Palantir is 18 years old and not profitable. Believe it or not companies aren’t all about profits. Their about products, innovation and changing the world for the better. These things cost money!!! Omg wait; is that why companies go public?? Just stop talking.
He seems to be contradicting himself: at earlier time he attributed TikTok's success to their massive capital investment and then later he said large capital does not necessarily guarantee a good outcome in great products, so it's not convincing what Snap is going to be.
That is not a contradiction. He's basically saying that you can't solve problems by throwing money at them, you solve problems by solving problems. Tiktok spent a lot of money in acquiring users and they saw massive growth because of that but companies need their growth to be sustainable. If Tiktok had not solved the problem of keeping users hooked on Tiktok by developing an AI algorithm, those user would have left. So money is not the sole reason Tiktok is what it is. Remember Vines? That was TikTok without the AI.
This what a CEO should look and sound like - well spoken, intelligent, kind, empathetic. This is one of the reasons why I think Snap is going to be the next Apple. Evan is the next Steve Jobs.
Next apple no. But it’s going to be very big. It’s entirely being counted out. Ppl going to realize how big of a mistake that is. Cornering Evan is not smart for those betting against him.

He will never sell. This is clear as day.
He's exactly right that constraints force focus, creativity, and true innovation. I would not count Snap out just yet...
Agree. He’s ahead of his time! Not working in his favor today, but his persistence is unmatched. It will come full circle.
@@mattschwab5143 There may be no better company ready to take advantage of Apple's new AR platform when it launches.
@@mikestaub good point!! Facebook I think is better prepared. But they don’t capture people like Snapchat does.
Never tried Snap, after listening Evan speak will give it a try for sure
*Been an investor since IPO in 2017, it will pay off big time someday!!!!*
Ouch! - that's a long time to hold. it's basically lost all of it's growth. Where do you see $SNAP going to by January 2023? - 10, 8, or 5 dollars?
@@andre-le-bone-aparte $40… imagine it’s done it once before it will do it again but this time blow past it.
Very well spoken.
Question: What price is $SNAP a buy for you? 10, 8, or 5 dollars?

The fact that he’s how many years in and still not making a profit is ridiculous.
False.

Is it just me or Prof. Scott Galloway looks quite similar to Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool
It looked like he (Evan Spiegel) almost cracked during that last question.

Good catch. I think for user acquisition - yes, a big war chest is key. But in terms of innovation - his statement was correct.

i wish he would provide more customer support. my snapchat got hacked and the bots for customer support is zero help.
I just played Evan in an animated film 😂Feels strange listening to an interview with him and not having to study the voice anymore lol

LOL. Not a chance.
More like an off brand Steve Jobs.

Mark is smarter and more efficient today. But that won’t last long. Agree Evan first. But both awesome hard working ppl. (Block out herd of haters)

07:57 The most ridiculous thing I've heard in years.
Tiktok, Onlyfans , etc have destroyed Snap ...Tough road ahead
not sure you even know the difference between the three you mentioned
He’s hyper intelligent. Anyone who can’t see that should read some biographies/autobiographies.
