If you give a beautiful flower garland to a monkey what will it do with it? That is what the so called Indologists are doing with the Veda's. They need to understand this is a job that is beyond their capability and understanding. If they are doing it with a deliberate intention then it is okay because such things will happen in Kali Yuga but the protectors will be born and protect the precious knowledge and Dharma.

Agreed. The western Indians are incapable of understanding the Vedas and other Indic texts. They are conditioned with the ideas of monoculture, supremacy, expansionism, and binary logic at a very young age. They want a garden with only one kind of plant. Their intellect is yet to develop up to the minimum entry level to study Indic texts.

Lot of here there, random things barely related to Wendy Doniger, Maybe you should consider changing the title. There is nothing in the entire talk about "Deconstructing Doniger"

Kudos for proclaiming the grandeur of the Hindu/Yoga Dharma, but total shame on us for not protecting it as well as capitulating to the distorters/theives.

One thing common is Western scholars write History on India from their eyes but no Indian writes History on West from our eyes

Any deconstruction needs to use two lenses - one the lens they are wearing...and hence the words they use, the phrases they use and the images they hope to create. And a lens that our shastras use. The Meta Architecture of our narrative can be understood in the template of Vak, Manas and Prana whose equivalent would the template of AdiBhautika - The Physical, Adi Daiva - the Mental and the Intellectual Environment and the Adhyatma - the Spiritual. Typically most of the westerners fall in the first two templates only...and we try to answer them at the Adhyatma level. Hence we are unable to critique them correctly and we fail. These three levels actually correspond...again...to the three states of experience...the Waking, The Dream and the Deep sleep states of experience. Thus Wendy Doniger can be critiqued using the first two levels only. She uses the Marxian and Freudian template. Is it that difficult to demolish her. Freudian psychology can be easily demolished using Jungian framework. What her Unconscious drivers to critique Indian Shastras? Just probe that using Jungian techniques of words and Associations and imagery which she creates and can be easily fleshed out from the Corpus of her work. Using Adhyatma to critique her is an incorrect approach.

So true, shallow knowledge is dangerous. Ordinary person does not have in depth knowledge, without , that one can’t move a single step in the right direction. Happiness is not something any one can through beautiful clothes fair and lovely creams and product sold on shelves in malls. Takes time experiments and Open windows in the closed mind concepts.

A now deseased renowned Sanskrit scholar who had read her books said this about Doninger was. He said, "she has no understanding of the texts that she cites"
This could be an approach to critique her. At a larger level, her approach is very racist as she essentially takes the position that she has come to teach the real Hindusim to the Hindus.
This talk in interesting but Rajiv Malhotra's book "Invading the Sacred" is a much better critique of Doninger

You need to live as true Hindu then you may understand. To me Hindu religion is like sea and foreigners and ignorant see the surface and notice only scum. No doubt it is polluted during centuries and even a Hindus start questioning the trivial and cannot logically interpret. Since it is like any vast subject not just a book like other new religions, it is very hard for hard for commoners to understand or answer the questions. The essence is simple that world is a family that includes not only humans but all living as well as non living beings and all need to be respected and protected.
