What a great song. I first heard this song in the summer of 1974 at the age of 14 and I always loved it. Has a beautiful haunting mesmerizing feel. The outro has a beautiful arpeggiated tone. Thanks for your lesson on this masterpiece
Well done Dave. As a covid learner in my 70th decade in the UK its an inspiration to be able to get a sound that approximates to the original sound. Keep up the good work friend!
461 Ocean Boulevard is a great album by Eric Clapton. Let It Grow is quite similar to Stairway To Heaven. In Eric Clapton's 2007 autobiography, he did mention where he got this from. Cheers! ✌️
I read that too, lol. I think Spirit had a song that was similar and Led Zeppelin toured with Spirit which was the source of the lawsuit. So many similar riffs. I never bought it, really. Stairway to Heaven is a masterpiece and stands on its own. Clapton’s riff is similar but not a copy.
