    I just did hub dyno stock vs. racechip + HKS spark plugs today and got 34rwkw extra using Raechip RS map 6. Pretty happy with the money I have spent on it. Exactly like you're saying it's literally 10-15 minutes install. It's also my daily driving so I don't need a crazy amount of power 😊

    • @kyle.damico
      @kyle.damico  2 года назад +2

      That's awesome!! I am looking into doing a dyno to see what mine puts out. I agree with the not needing crazy amounts of power since it is my daily. Now, if it was my weekend car, then maybe I would go for more power but that isn't in the cards for me at the moment!

      @Kyle D'Amico I did 1/8 race with my friends stock and almost beat the crazy power. They lost all that power on wheel spinning... that's why I decided to go with Racechip rather than JB4 or something else, and money wise, it's best bang for you buck too. But again, everyone has they own preference and purpose 😊👍 FYI AWD doesn't exist in Australia, only RWD 🥲

    My cpo 2021 Stinger gt1 came with a race chip and plugs that Kia somehow missed when they thoroughly inspected the car before selling it. I didn't notice it when I looked at the engine before purchasing, because it was extremely well installed. I drove for about 10 days before I showed my car to a friend and he pointed it out. I had them remove it and put new factory plugs in as well. I test drove other Stingers before this one and picked this one because of performance. The dealer told me I could leave it in if I wanted but I would have to come to them for any service. I still have it, with the plugs but I'll wait a while and just enjoy the car. My last car was a BMW 440i x-drive, M sport package.
    The chip made a noticeable difference but nothing crazy. It stayed on map 7 and I only use 93 octane.

    • @kyle.damico
      @kyle.damico  2 года назад +2

      That is a fun story considering yours is CPO and the dealer missed it! The stock power is really nice and is all most people need(myself included)! How are you enjoying the Stinger coming from a BMW?

    • @Gerry926
      @Gerry926 2 года назад +2

      @@kyle.damico yeah, I was really surprised when I found it and even more surprised they admitted missing it. One tech asked if he could take it for a spin with the chip, lol.
      I honestly miss the cool front end of the 440i and the BMW badge... and that's about all. The 440i was very reliable and fun to drive, on smooth roads. The problem was, the roads I'm mostly on are super rough with speed bumps and pot holes everywhere. There are rim repair shops on every block.
      The Stinger is more comfortable and easy to drive, has more room inside, more standard safety features and longer warranty. I still get a cool looking, fast, awd hatchback. So for me, the Stinger won out.

    • @kyle.damico
      @kyle.damico  2 года назад +1

      @@Gerry926 LOL! That's funny! I had a tech unplug my dash cam so I have a feeling they ripped on mine a little. I know the Stinger may not be up to a BMW/Audi standard in material quality but they definitely give them a run for their money with the Stinger. I hope you continue to enjoy it b/c I certainly do!

    I would do it, but here in CA mods are so heavily regulated. Even though the RaceChip passes CA's CARB requirements, it looks like we're not able to use it here on public roads, since RaceChip's website states "These products are legal in California only for sanctioned racing vehicles, which may never be used on a public highway. You assume all risks and expenses relating to unlawful vehicle operation on public roads."

    • @kyle.damico
      @kyle.damico  2 года назад

      Yes, I understand. Maryland also has the CARB requirements and I am due for my emissions so we shall see if I pass!

    • @flybriur
      @flybriur 2 года назад +1

      @@kyle.damico To further clarify, here in CA it's not just simply about passing emissions. The part has to be CARB (California Air Resources Board) approved. And what that means is that the part has to come with a CARB sticker with an "EO" number on on it, and that sticker has to be placed somewhere under the hood that is easily visible. Otherwise you should technically automatically fail an emissions test, and won't be able to renew your registration. So manufacturers actually have to get their parts specifically approved by CA's CARB for people in CA to legally be able to install and use them.
      I'm trying to get more clarity as to the exact reason(s) why RaceChip said their product can't be used on on public roads here in CA, as they did go through the trouble to get it CARB approved. Because it seems ridiculous to me why it wouldn't be allowed if it isn't an emissions issue.

    • @kyle.damico
      @kyle.damico  2 года назад

      @@flybriur Thank you for clarifying! I assume they went through the process due to the wide array of vehicles they offer their product to however it still doesn't explain why RaceChip went through the hassle of getting it approved and then say it cannot be used on public roads in CA.

    In terms of the butt dyno…. Does it feel like a much faster car? I understand the horsepower gains and the faster 0-60 times. But in terms of feel as a daily, is there a big difference in feeling when you have your spirited driving moments.

    • @kyle.damico
      @kyle.damico  2 года назад +2

      The Butt Dyno is very accurate. I can feel a major difference after install. It takes off even when the RaceChip set to eco! You really feel the torque right away and hp not to long after. Also, the exhaust note changes a little.

      @@kyle.damico butt dyno is by definition not accurate. there’s all kinds of recency, bias and placebo effect, and other psychological heuristics that come in to play
      But you should feel it for sure. Because it’s Torque down low that people usually “feel” the most. And the race Chip tune increases torque MUCH more than increases horsepower.
