      The Helio Gracie side bellied people down like this vs doing chair sit back takes. The ibjjf ruleset has really morphed BJJ into a weird sport.

      @@lastmanstanding5423nah the sit and scoot. It’s only a handful of guys that get up and work for a takedown or advance from a seated position. The rest scoot around and have you play in their guard

    The only problem with this tho is most people don't care about standing up in BJJ . Coming from a wrestling background and seeing people comfortable on their back is always cringe for me , I get it's the sport but cmon get up lol

      @Michael-ei3mh 4 месяца назад +16

      Agree 💯. It should be at least 1 pt if bottom man can stand up. It would change the game to be way more exciting.

      Wrestling does something similar, but instead give their backs, especially by way of laying on their stomach. Very strange to watch. Obviously I would get absolutely smashed by any of the guys who do this, but my point is sports are sports and they all have weird rules. Everyone's going to have their own opinion. MMA is where all the kinks get worked out because if they don't they'll get knocked out or choked out

    • @damiharr
      @damiharr 4 месяца назад +5

      Couldn’t agree more. This is simply MMA/ BJJ discovering fundamental wrestling.
      Recently went to a Pritt seminar and learned his new turtle game. Turned out to be a poor bottom game from the referee position.

    I trained traditional bjj and I always preferred deep pinning pressure from side control or mount, not to 'allow' the back. Maybe my middle and high school wrestling background helped with that. Makes sense to me to try to keep them in the position I already have them in, and if I want to advance to a better position I will do it on my terms, not by giving them space to move.
