I'm the korean who want to study English speaking. Always this question about the want VS won't sound was really difficult for me. But after watching your video, I feel easier than before. Really thank u for uploading this video.
I can clearly hear a difference between "want" and "won't", when the speakers is either a native speaker of English, or - if not - has an excellent English pronunciation. But non-native speakers don't make a difference well, and I have a hard time with listening. But there are other tricks to find out what is meant by the speaker: "want" or "won't", at least if there is a main verb. After "want" there is "to" and that verb. After "won't" there is no "to" but there is the main verb immediately after that: - I want to do that; - I won't do that. This way, you can still hear what the other speaker wants to say.
you should make a video about the different idiomatic expressions and how to pronounce that correctly, but you really did great things...such a good help to me
In the November 17, 2022 edition of "The Wall Street Journal" the two words are next to each other: "Yale Law School has held the No. 1 spot every year since 1990, and likely won’t want for qualified candidates as a result of its impending absence from the list." That's why I had to look up their correct pronunciation-and your video just gave me the right answer. Thanks!
Hello, quite clearly. Thanks for explanation. There are a lot of pretty difficult pronounceble words in English, and this one one of them. My Google assistant never understood what I've said when I was trying to pronounce "won't", it always was writing "want". Cause I spoke it wrong. But now when I've watched this video, I understood how pronounce it, and now when I'm saying "won't" it writes "won't". Wonderful! Thanks! It works 😊
I have known first your viedio clip through Nyu 유학생 video clip Learning english realized that how important pronounciation is.. I felt difficult yet what pronounced like video Go for it !

+Abugana Yousef For the word 'sew' you want to use the OH as in NO diphthong after the S consonant. For the word 'saw' you want to use the AW as in LAW vowel after the S consonant. Hope that helps!

Yes, context can realy help with understanding! :)
Rachel's English
Hi. Please make video between
"I want to do that." and "I won't do that."
@@rachelsenglish no, context will not help so the both variants can go rightly almost always as for common significance.
